"You.." Jonathan blinked, his hand leaving Coco's head and standing in front of her instead.
Cleora raised an eyebrow and behind her, she heard the front door shut. "What's with the protective stance, my son? Why does it look like you don't want that horrendous man to be taken for questioning?"
"It's not that, ma'am." Jonathan swallowed thickly, his body becoming rigid. "It's pretty clear that you're someone powerful, but I'm not certain who."
"How much has my daughter told you?" Cleora asked, tilting her head, but she quickly turned her head to look at the front door, eyes narrowed. "What are you doing here?"
Before Coco or Jonathan could question who she was talking to, Sinclair suddenly stepped into the frame.
"Master." The hybrid walked past Cleora and scrambled to kneel in front of Coco. "Are you okay? I felt panic and sensed danger. I didn't think twice about removing myself from my post and flew here."
