Kailen was silent in the conference room of Central Command.
"What do you guys think?" He suddenly asked the tacticians in the room a question.
One person, a lady from the spectral race, said, "Something seems off. Why are they so desperate to plan an ambush?"
Whispers spread across the room as everyone agreed with what she had said.
Kailen nodded. "Exactly my thoughts."
Kailen tapped his hand on the table.
"If I were the royal family, why would I plan an ambush?" Kailen stood up. He paced back and forth with calm, deliberate steps as everyone stared at him.
"What if it's because they are afraid we may have trump cards that could be detrimental to them in the war, and therefore, they want to eliminate us with the ambush before we have any chance to make use of them?" One of the tacticians, someone from the dwarf race, said.
"That sounds quite plausible."
"Indeed."
"Excellent way to consider it."
Several nods of agreement spread across the room.
