Chapter 2 - [ CHAPTER I (1) ]

[ Chapter I (1): "3:00AM HAPPENINGS ON A THURSDAY NIGHT" ]

[ "This is... not scary at all." ] Joshua mumbles to himself as he frantically searches for his phone, which he then unplugged when he did. Turning on the flashlight, he then pointed it at the direction of the computer to see what on god's green earth exactly is happening with the computer.

To his surprise, there was no little person, a gremlin, or monster which plugged back his computer on. Which made him fear for his life even more, as he had noticed that the computer's plug is not connected to the outlet, yet the computer is... on.

So in mild curiosity, and in hopes to uncover something supernatural, he approached his computer with his phone's flashlight leading the way. And yes, when he did sit down, his eyes were instantly glued on the survey. [ "Did you do... this?" ]

The survey, of course, as an image inside an inanimate object, didn't respond. It has no life on its own, hopefully, aside from the mysterious and supernatural way it randomly opened itself— which piqued Joshua's interest to the highest degree.

He stared at the choices which included the following: Terraria, Fortnite, Dead by Daylight, and Telltale: The Walking Dead. Aside from Dead by Daylight and Fortnite, the rest he knows of through YouTube but hasn't played. [ "Erm, okay." ]

The question in the survey is about which game he much prefers. Between Fortnite which he only played once, then deleted; DBD was easily the answer here, so he clicked that option. In doing so, another question appeared.

[ QUESTION II: IF GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY WILL YOU CHANGE ANYTHING IN THIS CHOSEN GAME? ]

[ A) YES ]

[ B) NO ]

[ C) RATHER NOT SAY ]

Which made him curious, but after giving it a few seconds of thought, he then easily clicked the first option— yes. Because, yes, if given the chance, he would absolutely make some changes in DBD. Like per say, making the game free for everyone to play rather than buying the base game, or waiting for coupons to get the game for free.

[ QUESTION III: DO YOU WHOLEHEARTEDLY BELIEVE THAT THE SUPERNATURAL EXIST? ]

[ A) YES ]

[ B) NO ]

[ C) RATHER NOT SAY ]

[ "Is this not one?" ] Joshua thought to himself, as he then leaned back slightly to glance at the socket behind his desk. And yes, that is such an example of the supernatural— aside from that, then another example is his unluckiness in online games as a whole, whatever game that may be.

Shaking his head, he then easily clicked the yes button and continued answering the survey however confusing the questions may come. Primarily because he was bored, and also because he was curious; who created this weird survey in the first place? And why? Perhaps it is God? He really doesn't know, but he wants to find out.

[ QUESTION XIV: DO YOU THINK YOUR SPECIAL? ]

[ A) YES ]

[ B) NO ]

[ C) RATHER NOT SAY ]

Then the 14th question hit, which hit too close to home. The said question easily making Joshua stare at the screen in bewilderment, [ "What the fuck does this mean? Of course I'm special, yes!" ] Then in anger, he clicked yes. In doing so, the text on his computer's screen changed. Albeit different.

[ YES, YOU ARE SPECIAL ]

[ "I have so many questions right now." ] Joshua thought to himself, which he then spoke automatically due to him getting distracted by reading the text over and over again.

Before then finally it disappeared after he read it for the nth time, his computer's screen turning back to black, engulfing his room back into darkness. That, if you were to ignore the other source of light in the room, his phone's flashlight.

For a moment he was left there alone with his thoughts, the survey having now disappeared after acquiring what it wanted— answers. Still, the answers that Joshua wanted weren't given to him, so he was about to plug back the computer.

[ "Hmm?" ] Before he could, his phone rang, a notification which shouldn't be. Because his phone is always in silent mode. So in interest, he turned his upside down phone and glanced on the screen; which freaked him out. [ "Ah-huh?!!" ]

Because in there appears a weird application requesting for his permission to download, even though it has been a long time since he tried downloading any 3rd party apps through the internet. And none he remembers having the weird name of, "God of Games" or something.

Perhaps a virus? Perhaps it relates to the weird unreal survey he answered seconds back. No, wait. He doesn't know. But as an IT graduate, he leans more on the former; but his gut feeling, his gamer instinct, something in him leans on the latter. So without thinking, he downloaded it. [ "This better not be a virus, or so help me God..." ]

[ GOD OF GAMES ]

Joshua thought of the possibility of deleting it, so he long taped the said app and unsurprisingly enough, no such x button appeared— either the trash can which usually appears whenever he wants to delete an app. Though he could drag the said icon like other apps, which is... cool?

[ "Okay, this is uhh- okay." ] He doesn't know what to say, so he instead stopped, even his breathing for a second as he then placed down the app and observed it— which isn't that much, aside from the big blue GoG as the said app's icon.

So with a sigh, he clicked the application hoping that his phone doesn't get infected with hundreds of thousands of unknown and deadly malware. Or that his phone explodes due to whatever reason there may be, any reason at all, really.

[ WELCOME, PLAYER 1 ]

[ "What did you call me?" ] Surprisingly, a gender neutral voice rang from his phone; he genuinely can't tell if it's male or female. An oddity. But at this point, he doesn't even want to question it. What he does want to question is the fact, [ "What is..." ]

Is the fact that there's a portal-like vortex whirling in the middle of his phone's screen. [ "this-?!" ] Which then turned big, bigger, bigger and bigger in a blink of an eye until it was then bigger enough to swallow him whole. Leaving only his beaten up-looking phone on the floor, flashlight still on, and without a trace of Joshua in sight.

[ -----| SCENE BREAK |----- ]

[ "Fuuuhkin' hellp!" ] Joshua yelled, flailing his arms in the air as he falls from... apparently... the closest thing he could relate to this is space, wherein the only difference is that everything is tinted blue. Albeit not heavily, but still. Fuck.

[ "I can breathe-I can breathe!" ] He could breath.

[ "Ah-AHHHH!" ] And he can hear himself in the vaccum of this space-like place, which shouldn't be possible if this is genuinely space. No, instead, this place is not that, but is something else.

[ "I'm falling!" ] He screamed, having no sense of direction if he's genuinely falling or not, but to him it feels like he is falling— a weird feeling. [ "A-am I falling?" ] He paused for a second, then observed everything clearly, though difficult, he noticed it.

[ "No, I'm... not falling, wh-what the fuck?" ] Yes, Joshua isn't falling, he isn't rising either. His perception and thought, thought that he was falling, which made him panic, which made his head hurt, which then caused him to flail his arms in the air frantically like a headless chicken.

And in that moment of clarity, Joshua used his time wisely and observed anything and everything around him. Which wasn't a lot really, as there are no nearby planets, or giant rocks, or stars. No, aside from the black of space replaced with the color blue, and whites i.e. the stars dotting the space far away, he then couldn't see nothing else.

[ "This is... oddly enough, beautiful." ] For a second his rapidly beating heart stopped worrying, as he floats in the dead of space wearing his informal attire which composed of shorts, and a ketchup stained blue t-shirt with holes in it on the back.

Then he felt his stomach churn, and his vision to yell, "get me the fuck out of here", and for his body to not want to be in this place anymore. So he tried to find a way out. [ "Ho-holy shit, please don't tell me I'm stuck on this godforsaken place!" ] But then he realized that he doesn't have his phone in hand, which made him instantly panicked.

[ "A-AH!" ] Panik! Joshua then realized that he doesn't have any way out of this place, and that, he is stuck here. And that he might die here, a slow and painful death if he stayed for long enough. [ "I-I hadn't deleted my search history!" ] And, yeah, that.
