Using the power of the Infinity Stones against those who coveted them was not an unimaginable idea.
Thor and the others weren't incapable of thinking of it.
The problem was that anyone who truly understood the Infinity Stones also understood one thing very clearly-
They were a trap.
An enormous one.
Especially with Thanos openly collecting them.
That alone was enough to make most forces hesitate. No one wanted to be the one who stirred the water first.
If Thanos's plan to gather all six Stones had been widely known earlier, many powers in the universe probably wouldn't have been able to sit still.
The universe was vast.
Thanos was cautious.
Every time he acted, he wiped out half the life on a planet-but he always left the other half alive.
That detail mattered.
Combined with the fact that he avoided direct conflict with powerful civilizations, it explained why he faced so little resistance.
Earth was the exception.
Once he collected all six Stones, he achieved his goal without hesitation.
He didn't negotiate.
He didn't explain.
He simply snapped.
The entire universe was caught off guard.
No one expected him to be that insane.
As for him later living in seclusion?
Noah believed someone must have found him eventually. Rocket's method hadn't exactly been cutting-edge.
But what would finding him change?
The Stones were already destroyed.
And more importantly-
His actions would inevitably breed new ambitions.
As long as people were alive, and the universe was chaotic, ambition would flourish.
That environment was a natural hunting ground.
Noah suspected that even then, countless people were shouting about revenge against Thanos-
While secretly benefiting from what he'd done.
"They probably screamed about vengeance," Noah muttered, "while thanking him deep down."
He shook his head.
These were just deductions.
But now, after Noah's guidance and deliberate actions, Thor's thinking had clearly been nudged in that direction.
And Thor seemed interested.
"Alright," Noah said, looking seriously at Thor and Wong. "Next, I'm going to talk about something I've been planning for a long time."
"But before that, you must swear."
"Swear that what we discuss today will not be revealed-at least until the plan is complete."
Thor and Wong exchanged a glance.
Then they nodded.
"We swear."
They swore by their ancestors and teachers, their expressions solemn.
Peter Quill felt his teeth ache.
From his perspective, this looked less like a discussion and more like some kind of cult ritual.
Swearing on ancestors and teachers at every turn?
Terrifying.
Peter didn't believe in any of that. In his mind, contracts were the only thing with legal value.
But then-
Strange light appeared around their bodies.
Peter immediately shut his mouth.
And gained a hundred new questions.
These people were from Earth?
Since when did Earth produce things that ignored science?
He'd only been gone for a little over ten years.
What the hell happened back home?
Not understanding the situation, Peter chose silence.
"Good," Noah said after they finished. "Now I'll explain my plan."
"There are six Infinity Stones."
"I already have two."
"The remaining ones, however, can be distributed."
"The Time Stone. Space Stone. Soul Stone. Mind Stone. Power Stone. Reality Stone."
"In my view," Noah continued calmly, "the Power Stone suits you best, Thor."
That wasn't even debatable.
A warrior wielding the Power Stone would be terrifying.
Thor and the Power Stone even shared a trait-
Recklessness to the end.
If the Stone disapproved of its user, it would explode them on the spot.
Thor, when facing true enemies, fought the same way.
To the death.
"The Power Stone..." Thor rubbed his chin. "That does sound fitting."
"So where is it?"
"How would I know?" Noah replied flatly.
He couldn't very well say they were about to find it.
He'd already acted prophetic enough.
Doing it for everything would cross a line.
"So this is all speculation," Thor said, unconcerned. "Which Stone do you think we'll encounter this time?"
"No idea," Noah shrugged. "Hard to say."
"Maybe the Power Stone."
"There aren't many left drifting around, are there?"
"Not many?" Wong looked at him oddly. "You have two. Asgard has one."
"That leaves the Power, Soul, and Mind Stones."
"Those are extremely difficult to locate."
"Hm." Noah smiled awkwardly. "To be precise-two."
"There's one thing I strongly agree on."
"Thanos will never let Loki go."
"Because Loki's scepter..."
"...contains the Mind Stone."
Thor and Wong froze.
Not three.
Four.
They already controlled four Infinity Stones.
And this trip-
Noah was clearly targeting another one.
Five.
Five Infinity Stones.
That number felt unreal.
Others might search their entire lives and never find one.
They were approaching control over nearly all of them.
Both Thor and Wong stared at Noah.
He wasn't joking.
"Wait." Thor snapped back to reality. "Loki's scepter-wasn't that taken by S.H.I.E.L.D.?"
"Close enough," Noah replied. "I left a mark on it."
"As long as nothing unexpected happens, I can retrieve it whenever I want."
Thor pressed a hand to his forehead.
The headache deepened.
From his perspective, even without marks, Noah could probably ask and have it handed over immediately.
This realization only made things worse.
Five Stones.
Distributed properly?
They could resist any force coveting them.
"Tell me," Thor asked at last, "what's your distribution plan?"
"It's simple," Noah said. "If we obtain the Power Stone this time, it goes to you."
"The Time Stone and Space Stone are already integrated into my weapons."
"I won't remove them."
"So you'll hold two?" Wong asked.
"Yes." Noah nodded. "Two."
"One aligns with my constitution and abilities."
"The other is the legacy of Kamar-Taj."
"I will not give up either."
Thor and Wong both nodded.
It made sense.
The Space Stone had reshaped Noah's body and powers.
The Time Stone was the cornerstone of Kamar-Taj.
As the future Sorcerer Supreme, Noah had every reason to guard it.
"As for the remaining Stones," Noah continued, "the Reality Stone should stay in Asgard."
"Give it to Loki."
He paused.
Truthfully, the rest were awkward.
Many people could wield them.
The future Scarlet Witch would excel in mind-based power.
Loki was a master of illusion.
Even Hermione or Strange could potentially handle them.
After some thought, Noah made a decision.
"The Reality Stone stays in Asgard."
"Let Loki use it."
"The Mind Stone..."
"We'll decide later."
Thor nodded. "That's fair."
"So both my brother and I would have one."
"Who gets the Mind Stone?"
"That's the problem," Noah admitted. "Wong. Hermione. Or someone I foresee in the future."
"All are viable."
"Not me," Wong said suddenly, smiling as he waved his hand. "Exclude me."
"Why?" Noah frowned. "Isn't wielding an Infinity Stone incredible?"
"It is," Wong replied calmly. "But it's also responsibility."
"That belongs to the Sorcerer Supreme."
"I know myself."
"I'm not suitable."
"So leave it to someone else."
"...I see."
"Then we've discussed five Stones," Wong continued. "Perhaps one day, we'll gather all six."
"Maybe."
Wong glanced sideways.
"By the way."
"We're done talking."
"And this guy has been eavesdropping the entire time."
"Should we... do something about him?"
