North America.
A massive green egg fell from the sky.
Xi frowned as she stared at it."Concentrate fire! Smash that thing!"
All demons capable of ranged attacks began their assault.Flames, stone spikes, frost, metal—all sorts of attacks bombarded the giant egg.
But none of them left even a scratch.
"Focus all attacks on me."
Basa, now intrigued, launched himself from the demon horde like a cannonball.
Under Xi's command, the demon army redirected their attacks toward Basa.
Basa absorbed the damage, his body swelling as a result. By the time he reached the egg, he stood over five meters tall. Clasping his hands together like a warhammer, he struck the egg with a mighty blow.
BOOM!
A deafening sound echoed through the skies and earth. The impact force was so great that half the egg was driven into the ground.
Crack—crack—
Fractures began appearing on the egg's surface, slowly spreading into deeper cracks.
From within the shell, a green eye met Basa's gaze.
"ROAR!!!"
With a deafening bellow, the egg burst open. A colossal arm surged forth, slamming toward Basa's head with immense force.
BANG!
Basa didn't dodge. The earth beneath his feet cracked. He smirked disdainfully at the creature within."That's all you've got?"
Before his words fully left his mouth, five more thick arms shot out from the egg, striking him from all directions.
The immense and unexpected force sent Basa hurtling through the sky like a meteor.
Xi massaged her forehead as she watched him fly off."This idiot..."
She turned back toward the egg—the thing now revealing itself.
The arms retracted. The egg split apart to reveal a creature the size of a mountain. Even the Mountain Demon looked small in comparison. This beast had a giant horned head, six muscular arms, and a tail. What appeared to be the eggshell was, in fact, a thick layer of armor.
"No Banner? Doesn't matter. I'll kill all of you, then find him."
The beast spoke with the voice of a Leader.
Suddenly, the monster's tail started twitching, and smaller green eggs began to drop out.
"Full assault! Kill it!"
Xi gave the command without hesitation.
The demon army charged.
The small eggs cracked open, revealing miniature gamma beasts.
Paris
"I'm the River of the Dead... I'm Cindy... I'm Sally... I'm The Beast... I'm Jer..."
A mop-haired man wandered the streets aimlessly, clutching his head and mumbling to himself.
He looked like a regular lunatic—his eyes blank and lost in chaos.
But everywhere he went, buildings disintegrated into molecules.
Jean placed her finger on her temple, about to probe.
"Jean, wait..."
The Phoenix Force stopped her telepathy, staring seriously at the man below.
[Identity: Mutant. Ability: Molecular Manipulation.][Template: Iceman.]
Ultron quickly analyzed his power.
Dozens of Sentinel robots formed thick ice armor over their bodies. Their arms morphed into blades as they flew toward the mop-headed man.
As they neared, the ice layers on the Sentinels began to dissolve, but regenerated rapidly.
Now, the Sentinel's sharp blade was less than five centimeters from the man's neck.
Death loomed overhead.
But the mop-haired man remained lost in his mumbling:
"I'm The Beast...""I'm Delphiel...""I remember now..."
Just as the blade was about to pierce his skin—time stopped.
The gem on his forehead shattered, and his pupils turned blue.
"I am Legion."
WHRRRRMMMM—!
A terrifying energy shockwave erupted, vaporizing everything in its path—Sentinels, buildings, all reduced to ash.
In the blink of an eye, all of Paris had become a barren black wasteland.
Legion's Mindscape
"Controlling a god with a mortal's mind… it's too difficult," sighed the consciousness of Mr. The Beast, now assimilated as just another personality within the Legion.
"Hahaha! That idiot walked in here himself!"
"Kill him! He actually tried to control me?"
"Let's not be too hasty..."
Mr. The Beast stared at the thousands of personalities in front of him.Still, the goal was accomplished.
"Is… is that guy really a mutant?" Jean was stunned.
This power far exceeded the Omega level.
"Yes, I can sense the X-gene in his body," said the Phoenix Force. "But it's unlike yours—it's constantly evolving."
She kept her gaze on the direction Legion had vanished.
"You're talking about me?"
Without warning, Legion appeared right before them, curiously inspecting the two women.
!!!
Manhattan
In Manhattan, Miles Morales darted between skyscrapers like a bird, swift and nimble. Behind him, buildings collapsed into clouds of dust.
From within the thick smoke, a massive figure charged like a runaway tank, demolishing everything in its path in pursuit of the young Spider-Man.
That figure—The War Knight.
"This guy looks exactly like the Juggernaut."
Miles whispered to himself as he weaved through buildings.
"He's a clone. Brings back bad memories..."
Spider-Man in long johns used his web to restrain the She-Demon, now transformed into the Famine Knight.
Her new powers allowed her to drain energy and life simply by proximity, no physical contact needed.
"Can someone give me a hand? I'm feeling a bit woozy..."
Spider-Ham stumbled.
He was up against the Plague Knight.
The Plague Knight emitted mental plagues that caused hallucinations, confusion, and spread lethal diseases—attacking both body and mind.
Only someone as unique as Spider-Ham could survive; any other Spider-Man would have died by now.
"I don't have time right now!"
Noir Spider-Man was dodging skillfully between buildings. The Death Knight's metallic wings nearly clipped him with every pass.
Soaring through the sky, the Death Knight resembled a dark angel of doom, exerting intense pressure on all the Spider-heroes below.
Elsewhere, Gwen, Harley Quinn, and Janata were facing off against—
Magneto, Professor X, and Apocalypse.
They all had a red gem embedded in their foreheads.
"I have one question. What's the state of mutants today?" asked Apocalypse.
"They coexist peacefully with humans now. Some have even become idols and heroes. They're fighting on other battlefields too," Gwen replied.
"Not quite what I expected, but... not bad," Apocalypse nodded.
Though once defeated due to ideological differences, he bore no grudge. A loss was a loss.
"Let me share something. The ones who revived me—they have other plans. You should watch your backs."
Apocalypse revealed the Avengers' secret plot.
"Why tell us this?" Gwen asked, confused.
"I don't hate humans. But if those people succeed, it won't be good for mutants either. That's all I can do now."
Apocalypse despised weakness but respected the powerful or wise. He held no mercy for weak mutants or those whose beliefs clashed with his own.
This was his ideology: 'Survival of the Fittest.'
"You look scary, but you're actually kinda nice," Harley blurted out.
"You won't think that in a moment."
Apocalypse raised his hand, releasing a vast wave of energy.
Buildings and cars around them disintegrated into molecules, forming a massive sandstorm that trapped everyone inside.
"Okay! I take that back. Now I really want to punch you," Harley pouted.
"SABAKU!"
"True strength is not just power, but the ability to evolve beyond it."
