The reason dinner was prepared later than usual was because Lazarus wanted to wait for his daughter.
It was sweet, but Primrose thought he shouldn't have done that because she was afraid he'd get sick. He shouldn't even be eating in the dining room since his foot was injured!
Yet what did he do? He had Denish put him in a wheelchair and insisted on coming anyway.
Primrose could only sigh. Her father could be so stubborn sometimes, but since it was her first day home, she tried to understand him. Maybe he just missed her too much.
And honestly, the moment she saw the delicious food spread out in front of her, she forgot all her frustration.
"I know you like spicy food, Rosie," Lazarus whispered, "but I don't want you hurting my grandchild, so I asked the cooks to only add a little chili."
He kept his voice low because none of the staff knew about her pregnancy yet.
"Father, this food… it's even better than what I usually eat!" Primrose said happily.
