The moment I descended above the school of stingrays, I realized the visions from the All-Knowing Eyes hadn't even begun revealing the full picture.
There weren't forty creatures.
There were hundreds.
The enormous stingrays moved through the Soul Sea with astonishing coordination, each maintaining the exact same distance from every other member of the school. From above, the formation resembled a living constellation drifting through an endless ocean, every graceful movement perfectly synchronized despite there being no visible leader guiding them.
Their backs were unlike those of ordinary Soul Sea creatures.
Yellow and deep sapphire patterns spread across their enormous bodies, interrupted by crimson lines that constantly shifted as they swam. At first glance, they appeared to be nothing more than naturally occurring markings.
The longer I observed them...The less convinced I became.
Something about those crimson lines felt deliberate.
