In the ebb and flow of the battle, just a minute later, Ben began to feel the pressure mounting enormously. No news from Antitina yet, and on the other side, Nicholas seemed unable to come over for a while. He estimated that he had to hold on for at least another minute.
But that minute was enough to cost him his life.
This can't go on.
Ben suddenly turned his head and stood by the teleportation gate. The long-horned demons rushing from behind abruptly stopped. High intelligence has this downside; at least they know which things are untouchable, and although teleportation gates are not easily damaged, who can guarantee it?
If it were a low-intelligence hellhound, it might have just rushed full tilt, directly ramming Ben into the teleportation gate. Unfortunately, the long-horned demons didn't have the courage for this.
If not for standing by the teleportation gate, Ben figured he would have been torn to shreds dozens of times by now.
