Before Easton Holmes and Lily Turner arrived, Harriet White and Evelyn Taylor were discussing matchmaking. Her son Ryan Taylor had a girlfriend, and now she was busy arranging her daughter's marriage, hoping to settle both her son's and daughter's weddings together.
"Mom! I don't want to go on a blind date." Evelyn Taylor bluntly rejected her mom's request, showing no regard for her mother's face.
"You'll be thirty after the New Year, if you don't..."
"It's still a long way from the New Year, so there's no need to be so anxious."
Harriet's words irritated Evelyn, making her impatient. Before her mom could finish, she interrupted.
Whether it's New Year or not wasn't the point. Harriet wanted to tell Evelyn that she's not young anymore, and if she didn't hurry up to date and find a partner, she might really be left behind.
