Chapter 1 - The Beginning

I was in the car with my parents, heading to a new town — a place far away from my siblings and my friends. A town called Beacon Hills.

What a strange name. I hope the people there aren't strange too.

All that because of the damn Lockwood. He deserves what happened to him — he was an ass. I hope this year will be good and the people of this new town will be friendlier than the people in my town. At least there's one good thing: I'm going to see my Aunt Melissa again. She's my favourite aunt. She and Gina — I like them more than my uncle Jon. He is an ass.

I hate my uncle Jon very much because he put me through so much pain. Whatever. When I come back home I will kick Tyler's ass again — that's what I promised myself.

My mother looked at me in the rearview mirror and said, "Hi, tough guy. I hope you're okay."

"I'm not okay, Mom. You took me from Jeremy and Elena and Caroline," I answered with a sad expression, hoping they would change their minds.

"Honey, that will be just for this year only. You will come back after finishing school this summer," my mother said.

"Okay. What's the point? Why am I leaving Mystic Falls? I don't understand," I asked — the question that had been chasing me since the beginning of the trip.

"You put Tyler and three other kids in hospital. They almost died, Alex! You are not in a position to discuss anything. If it were up to me, you'd be in big trouble. You're so lucky your mother came up with a solution and took responsibility for what you did," my father said angrily.

Okay, I get it. He still mad at me because of what happened, but being kicked out of my home — is that really necessary??

"They deserved it, Dad. I didn't do anything wrong. They hit Jeremy and Elena for no reason and they insulted Caroline and called her a bitch. They had what they deserved. I was just defending my family and my friends," I answered, angry.

"You kid…" My father got angrier and was about to reply, but my mother jumped in.

"Babe, I think that's enough," she said, then turned to me and continued. "Honey, I know you were just defending yourself and your siblings, but that's wrong. You can't put people in hospital and nearly kill them. If you had killed someone that night, you'd be a killer at age thirteen. Do you want that, honey?"

"No, Mom." I lowered my head and answered.

"But what was I supposed to do? I mean, I didn't have a choice." I asked her because I was really confused. Isn't protecting my family and friends my job?

"In the next time, teach them a lesson without putting them in hospital, okay?" she answered with a smile.

"Okay. I will beat them more easily next time." 😤

"There will be no next time!" My father said. "Babe, what's going on? You're supposed to discipline him, not encourage him!"

"I know, but he's just thirteen. You are so hard on him — take it easy," my mother replied.

"Dad, you are the one who told me a man must always defend his family no matter what," I said with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, I did, but I didn't tell you to put people in hospital," my father replied wearily.

"I defend my family no matter what, like you said. You should be proud," I said, smiling, knowing that would probably make him mad.

"Don't mess with me, kid. I didn't tell you to almost kill somebody!" my father screamed.

"It was an accident — I did not want to kill them." That was a lie, but no one had to know, right? 🙃

My father laughed and said, "An accident? You took a gun from my closet and tried to shoot them! How was that an accident?"

"I... I thought the gun storage was empty," I answered nervously.

"Do not lie to me, Alex! I am your father and I can tell when you're lying without even looking at you," Dad said in frustration as he drove and looked at the road. Okay — I got him on that one.

"I... I'm sorry, Dad. I wasn't thinking. Tyler made me so mad because he made Elena and Caroline cry and hurt Jeremy so much." I apologized to my parents for causing them so much trouble.

"It's okay, honey. Everyone makes mistakes, even me and your dad," my mother said. "Just promise me you'll be careful next time and don't let your anger lead you, okay?"

"I promise, Mom. Does this mean you're not mad at me anymore, Dad?" I asked with an optimistic expression.

"I'm still mad..."

"Babe."

"Okay, I'm not mad at you anymore. But no more taking guns, did you hear me, son?"

"Yes, sir."

"Good." 👍🏾

"Hi — looks like we're here finally," my mother said. I looked out the window and saw a banner:

Welcome to Beacon Hills.

Okay, I think this is a new beginning. I wonder what will happen in this town. I hope Aunt Melissa helps me control my anger issues like my mother did. "Shhh."

My father parked the car in front of Aunt Melissa's house. There I saw Aunt Melissa standing at the door. I jumped out of the car, ran to her, and hugged her.

"Aunt Melissa!"

"Hi Alex — how are you? Look how much you've grown! Wait, are those muscles? Are you really thirteen? You're more muscular than Scott!!" she laughed.

Yes — I am 1.65 meters tall and I have a very strong body and muscular arms. I have trained since I was five and I have unnatural stamina, speed, and a lot of anger. Actually, it's more like rage than anger. I don't know why I'm so different from Jeremy and Elena, but I think that's a good thing. Oh, and I have a crescent-shaped birthmark on my right shoulder.

"Haha, Aunt Melissa, I'm not a kid anymore. I'm so strong — I defeated four boys my age all by myself."

"Alex, that's not something to be proud of. Did you forget what I told you in the car?" my father said.

"No, sir," I answered.

"Hello, Grayson. How are you?" Melissa asked.

"Hello, Melissa. I'm fine, thanks."

"Hello, big sis! How are you?" my mother said, hugging her.

"Miranda! How are you? Are the kids okay?" Aunt Melissa asked with a smile.

"Jeremy and Elena are fine. Alex is giving me and Grayson a headache as usual. Nothing has changed. How is Scott, by the way — is he here?" my mother asked.

"He's in his room. Maybe he's sleeping. Scott! Scott! Hurry down and greet your aunt," Melissa called.

A sixteen-year-old appeared on the stairs. Scott's build was a bit more muscular than mine. He had brown eyes, a slightly slanted jaw, and thick brown hair. He had asthma and was wearing a red hoodie with blue jeans.

"Hey Aunt Miranda," he greeted my mom and hugged her, then he hugged my dad. "Hey Grayson, how are you?"

"Good, Scott. How are you? You still have asthma?"

"Yeah, but I'm better than before."

"Good to hear." Then he turned to me and said, "Ah — what do we have here? My favorite little cousin!" He hugged me.

I looked at him and raised an eyebrow. "I thought Elena was your favorite, or Jeremy?"

"No, those are old news. As long as you're here with me in the same house, you're my favourite. Don't worry — I'll keep an eye on you at school and take care of you."

"Thanks, I think."

"That's the spirit — that's why you're my favorite nephew," Mom said.

I raised my eyebrows and said, "But Mom, he's your only nephew."

"Whatever you say, my jealous son. You should learn from your cousin Scott."

"I am absolutely not jealous, especially of Scott," I said, looking at him. "No offense."

He laughed 😅 and said, "None taken."

"Okay kids, that's nice, but we need to unpack and get inside. We can't stay in the doorway too long. Scott, get the stuff. Miranda, Grayson, and Alex — please come inside," Melissa said.

"There's no way Scott can lift all of Alex's bags. Alex, go with your cousin and get your bags," Dad said. I replied, "Yes, sir," and went with Scott to the car to get my bags.

Melissa looked at Grayson and raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you being a little harsh on your son?"

"The boy needs discipline and education. Don't be fooled by his innocent appearance. Melissa, you will deal with him and realize he is like a little demon. You must be decisive and be careful of his behavior. Sometimes he suddenly becomes very angry," Grayson warned.

"Come on, dear — Alex hasn't had a tantrum in a while," Miranda said.

"Did you forget what happened three weeks ago, Miranda?" Grayson answered.

"It was an accident."

"No, it wasn't an accident. Don't defend him because he's your son. He got completely out of control. What was just a simple fight between kids turned into a full-blown incident with several broken bones and deep wounds that will leave scars for life, and an attempt to shoot with a gun."

"This is a kid with big problems. Be careful, Melissa," he added.

They were sitting inside while Grayson warned Melissa that his son's behavior was dangerous to the lives of normal people.

"Okay, I get it, Grayson. He has his issues, but he's thirteen and I can handle it. Scott is always with him to make sure something like this never happens again. You can relax and leave your son to me. I've dealt with a lot worse," Melissa answered.

"Thank you, Melissa. We appreciate what you're doing so much. We know you have a hard time taking care of Scott alone. I promise that when things calm down in Mystic Falls, we will take him back and he won't be your problem," Miranda said.

"Don't say that again, Miranda. Alex can stay as long as he wants and he will never be a problem for me," Melissa said.

"Thank you — we appreciate it very much," Grayson added.

Scott came in with Alex, talking and laughing. They unloaded my luggage into the guest room and then went to eat the dinner Melissa had prepared.

I was happy to have my own room. I had to share before with Jeremy, but like all happy times, it came to an end when it was time to say goodbye. Alex was left with Melissa and Scott in a strange town he didn't know.

I stood in front of the house saying goodbye to my family.

"Promise me you'll eat well and not bother your aunt Melissa."

"I promise, Mom."

"Don't be sad, son. This is temporary. We will come and get you in the summer, but promise me you will man up while I'm gone."

"I promise, Dad."

"Okay — be nice to your poor aunt. If I hear you cause trouble…"

"Honey." Miranda gave Grayson a death stare because she didn't want a farewell full of threats and Grayson immediately shut up.

Seeing that, I laughed and said, "Okay super mom — I will miss you so much and I will call you every day and talk to you and Jeremy and Elena."

"You better do that, brat, or you'll have a lot of problems."

Grayson 👀.

Alex 😧.

Grayson wondered what was going on in Miranda's mind because she didn't want to threaten their son but she ended up doing it. He wondered what was happening to her and suspected he needed to test her to make sure her brain was working. Miranda turned to him, "Honey, what's with that look? Are you questioning how my brain works again? If so, trust me, you'll be sleeping on the couch for a week."

Grayson replied, worried, "No, no, there's no such thing. I know exactly how your brain works, honey. We've been married for eighteen years."

Miranda looked at him and said, "Fine. Then you wouldn't mind if you started the car and I spent some time with Alex alone, would you?"

"No, no, take it easy. I'll be waiting in the car," he said, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead and sighing in relief. He thought women were scary and his weak point was being threatened with sleeping on the couch. How pathetic.

As Grayson went to the car, Miranda knelt down to meet my eyes. "Alex, I want you to know — no matter what, your father and I love you very much. We're not abandoning you. This is only temporary. Do you understand?"

I had been secretly upset the whole trip and thought my parents were abandoning me because I always caused trouble. My eyes welled up with tears and I hugged my mother. "I love you too, Mom. I promise I will be a better version of myself and I will never let anger blind me again." Miranda returned the hug. "Hey, everything is okay. Promise me you won't beat the kids up too hard in school and you'll listen to Scott — he's older, okay?"

"Okay. I promise you. Bye, Mom."

"Bye, Alex."

Miranda nodded to her big sister. Melissa nodded back and said, "Don't worry. He will be fine with me and Scott. He will fit in this small town, I am sure he will find a girlfriend here."

Miranda laughed. "I hope so." Then she got into the car with Grayson and they drove back to Mystic Falls.

Melissa looked at her nephew and said, "Come on, Alex. I'm sure you're tired from the trip. Let's go inside and get some rest."

I hugged my aunt and we entered the house, optimistic and excited now because of my mother's words and wondering what life would offer me in this new small town.

Without knowing it, this was the beginning of a very complex story — a story with a lot of drama, conflict, love, betrayal, and pain. The beginning of my life turning into a living hell and overturning all my beliefs.

Hello — author here. I have been thinking about this story for a while and I liked the idea, so here I am. I am not looking for money; I just want to express my thoughts. There is no R-18 content or sexual material because I think these things spoil the story. I will try to upload two chapters a week. Please give me your comments and ideas for this story and your opinion on my first chapter ever. Thank you very much for reading. Be sure that unexpected events will turn Alex's life into a living hell, worse than his siblings' tricks. That's all — until next the next chapter 👍🏾.
