"You know, visit home often~ After all, such opportunities won't be many."
Allen finished speaking and stuffed the bread into his mouth.
The sweetness was just right, unlike the overly sweet baking methods typical of Asura's nobility... He glanced sideways at Isolte, and couldn't help but sigh with emotion that the fortunate misunderstanding at Mortalit should indeed have been fortunate.
Otherwise, if he had returned in a normal state, would he have been able to eat this meal or not?
Even her eating habits...
Isolte still remembered them perfectly.
If that were truly the case, eating would be a betrayal, and not eating...
...would also be a betrayal.
Thinking this, he couldn't help but shake his head. The next instant, he heard hurried footsteps circling the table.
Before he could even look up, his vision turned white as a figure filled his sight.
Not a figure.
It was a leg.
Isolte, frowning, had walked around the table and now sat with a thump on the tabletop beside Allen's hand. Her entire thigh, from knee to hip, was wrapped in her apron. Her leg pressed against the tabletop, squeezed beside Allen's hand.
It looked very full, very round.
Very imposing.
Making one instinctively...
Allen's hand recoiled slightly. He glanced at Sylphy, then looked up.
He saw Isolte's tightly furrowed face, looking down at him from above.
Even from this angle, her face was still exquisite, and...
...quite beautiful.
Um... no, what am I thinking?
Allen shook his head, then heard Sylphy also hurrying over. Realizing the two were worried about him, he was about to swallow the piece of bread still sticking out of his mouth and speak to comfort them.
Then.
Isolte yanked the bread right out of his mouth!
She flicked it into Sylphy's mouth, who had walked over and was about to say something.
The former leaned in close to Allen's face, her expression serious.
"Is Senior Brother going back to the Boreas mansion to play some drama of deep father-son affection, just to kill him? But wouldn't that give others leverage?"
She didn't know if she was truly worried about Allen or just annoyed by Allen's sneaky behavior.
—Clearly, she couldn't very well follow Allen back to stay at the Boreas mansion.
Sylphy, her mouth full of bread from Isolte, looked a little dazed. Her eyes lowered, looking at the bread in her mouth. After a long moment, she just blushed slightly and nodded, chewing the bread and maintaining a stern little face...
...an expression of 'Don't look at my bulging cheeks, I'm actually very serious.'
The previously serene atmosphere in the living room suddenly grew solemn, becoming somewhat tense.
But this was clearly just tension between the three of them, unrelated to anyone else.
Eris wasn't tense; she was just chewing, like a red-haired squirrel, blinking her eyes.
Watching the show.
The child was indeed hungry.
Rudy wasn't tense either. Because...
He was completely dumbfounded!
'Hey!! Discuss if you must! What are you two doing?! Looking all lovey-dovey?! I'm still sitting here, okay?! Please be mindful of your surroundings!'
Then, 'Wait! Could it be?!', he looked utterly bewildered, thinking: Am I part of your flirting play too???
"This is indeed a necessary part; you two don't need to be so tense."
Allen escaped Isolte's rather serious gaze. The master of equilibrium suddenly took over. He first pinched Sylphy's cheek, then smoothly led her to sit on the chair to his right.
Then he reached out and supported Isolte's waist, placing her on the chair to his left. He blew on the mushroom-meat soup in the bowl and handed it to her.
With a flick of his wrist, he handed the half-eaten bread from his plate to Sylphy.
His movements were natural, his demeanor proper, as if practiced a thousand times.
Perhaps this was the Water God Style's information processing ability.
It made Eris, the squirrel, stop eating, looking hesitant as if considering whether to go over and get a piece of the 'pie.'
Rudy: "?????"
Isolte held the mushroom-meat soup in her hands, her eyes, however, fixed on her own waist. Her expression eased slightly.
"I told Senior Brother before that if he truly wanted to kill James, you could leave the royal capital first. I would kill him and then escape. After it's all over, we could come back and get married."
"Mm-hm... huh??? Mar-mar-mar-mar-marriage???" Sylphy had been nodding in agreement, chewing her bread, but she froze at the latter half of the sentence.
Rudy: "???"
Eris: "Marriage?! When?!"
Isolte's expression changed like a chameleon, and she smiled at Eris.
"Whenever. Eris, when would you like it to be?"
Rudy: "??? What does your marriage have to do with Eris???"
Eris frowned. "Hmm... when Ghislaine comes, I guess. Um... when I become a Sword King!"
Rudy: "???? What does that have to do with your swordsmanship level???"
Isolte replied gently: "Is Sword King a bit too late? How about Sword Saint?"
Eris frowned, glanced at the utterly dazed Allen, then at the wide-eyed Sylphy, "O-okay, I guess!!" She was surprisingly understanding, no longer showing such strong possessiveness over her brother, considering Sylphy and Allen's 'relationship duration.'
Both turned to look at Allen.
"Then let's do that." "That sounds good!!"
Allen: "Huh?"
He shook his head.
"Wait a minute, were we talking about marriage?"
Eris's face looked confused: "...weren't we?"
Rudy's voice boomed: "No!!!"
Allen pressed his temples, a headache forming. He raised his hand.
"Anyway, I'm just going back to settle old scores. I promise I'll be back by May 10th."
He glanced sideways at Eris. Reida's face flashed into his mind.
He spoke, a misleading lie based on facts.
"Tomorrow, after the commendation ceremony, my prestige will reach its peak. This is... the first step to overthrowing James. If I were truly eager to kill him, why would I bother with all this? I'd just kill him directly. Once the Water God Style confirms its legitimacy and is tied to the Sword Sanctuary, Master will naturally be of one mind with us, and we'll receive considerable advantages in certain matters."
He paused.
"So, revenge, that's not something to rush now, is it?"
Isolte heard this, frowned, and thought for a moment. She felt Allen's words were logical, so she nodded.
"Then why do you need to go back and stay for a few days, Senior Brother?"
Allen replied.
"Since there's no rush, then naturally I'll treat Boreas as a whole, waiting for the First Prince to extend an olive branch, and gradually replace James's position under him."
Isolte instinctively felt something was off, but before she could figure it out, Allen changed the subject.
"Then, on May 10th, after I've done enough superficial work, I'll return to the main dojo and discuss the Sword Sanctuary challenge with Master. This is a crucial step to further expand my prestige and gain dominance under the First Prince."
His words, nested logically with his previous statements, made Isolte's brow unfurrow. But before she could think deeply, Allen's quickly delivered words interrupted her thoughts again.
First, an affirmative statement that made one's thoughts drift. Then, a question that introduced a new variable, forcefully helping Isolte change her mindset.
"Isolte's house isn't... 'our house' isn't particularly close to the Water God Style Main Dojo. You can all just go directly to the Water God Style Dojo that day; no need to come look for me at the Boreas house. Eris doesn't need to come either, understand?"
Eris frowned: "Huh? Why?"
Sure enough, Isolte, who had doted on her sister-in-law all the way here, immediately turned to her.
"Because Philip and James are completely antagonistic. Eris going there might not achieve Senior Brother's purpose and could be seen as provocation."
At this point, the logical motivation closed, and Isolte's reason for subconsciously accepting it as 'fact' to persuade Eris completely confirmed the rationality of Allen's actions.
Even if Rudy's face the entire time screamed, 'Is this even logical?'
This didn't stop them from finishing their meal in perfect harmony.
Except for the sudden appearance of the system panel in the middle.
Everything else was normal.
After dinner, regarding room assignments, it was finally decided that Isolte and Sylphy would share a room, and everyone else would have their own.
It was unexpected, yet predictable.
It was worth noting that Isolte's house had many bedrooms, but the bathroom was very large.
No, wait, do many bedrooms and a very large bathroom have a logical connection?
Yes.
Many bedrooms, one large bathroom.
Therefore, there was only one bathroom.
So everyone naturally took turns bathing. Eris, tired from the day, being in a food coma, took the first dive. After bathing, she changed into her pajamas and leisurely went to sleep.
Next was Rudy. Although Rudy had used a lot of healing magic today, he was still a long way from mana depletion. Even so, he was very tired.
Mentally exhausted.
So he quickly grabbed the second spot, bathed, and hurried back to his room to sleep.
Goodbye, dear adventurer team. Please, the three of you, have a good time, take your time, play from the bathroom to the bedroom, from the bedroom to the kitchen, from the kitchen to the living room, from the living room to the balcony, and then from the balcony back to the bathroom.
Don't treat me, Rudyus, as a person. I'm not a person; I hear nothing. And don't treat Eris as a person; she's not a person, because she's a pig.
Douzo!
Then...
Isolte, under Allen's surprised gaze, immediately started pulling at Sylphy's clothes. Of course, it was just playful. Then the two of them giggled...
...and went to take a bath together.
They walked out of the bathroom together, wrapped in bathrobes.
They gracefully walked past Allen together.
Neither of them wore shoes.
They returned to the bedroom together.
Before closing the door.
"Senior Brother, it's your turn now?"
Isolte leaned out halfway from the door, her eyes narrowed in a smile. Then Sylphy, hugging her waist, pulled her into the bedroom in a tug-of-war.
The world was quiet.
Allen looked at the wet footprints on the floor—the floor was wooden, very clean, making the prints even clearer.
He froze for a long moment, then rubbed his temples, shaking his head as he walked into the bathroom.
Sylphy had already cleaned the bathroom before leaving, and had used magic to conjure a full bathtub of water.
The bathroom was completely white with mist, ethereal and hazy, like the autumn rain mist of the Boreas mansion in Roa.
Allen narrowed his eyes and smiled.
He leisurely took off his clothes and draped them over the chair behind him.
He walked to the chair in front of the tub, sat down, and picked up the dipper, pouring water over his head.
Splash, splash.
Water drenched his hair. Streams of water clung to the ends of his hair in front of his eyes.
Dropping, passing through his vision.
Thump, it pierced through the smoky words that suddenly appeared beneath his eyelids.
[Oh? Why didn't you respond to me just now?]
Splash, splash, Allen emptied the dipper of water in his hand, then slicked all his hair back, smiling as he looked at the system panel.
'Busy falling in love, you see? Didn't you notice? But, it's been a long time since I've seen you. What? Were you traveling?'
The system panel flickered before him.
[?? It's only been four days, hasn't it? The day before entering Flowing Falls City, didn't you still use the location system to check on Roxy?]
Allen scooped another dipper of water.
'Oh~ is that so? It feels like months have passed.'
[Rather, you're the one who causes trouble. How many people have you met since entering Flowing Falls City? How many have you killed? How many things have you done? Don't you keep count?]
'No~'
[Tch, so what do you want to stir up now?]
Allen suddenly chuckled. He raised an eyebrow, looking at the system panel.
'Can't you tell? You're a system, aren't you? Didn't system quests always come with a detached, God-like perspective?'
'What? Is your system not working well without quests?'
The smoky text paused.
After a moment, words appeared one by one before Allen.
[I am just the Jobless Reincarnation Transmigration Guide, not a god.]
Allen stirred the hot water in the tub with his hand, his thoughts calm.
'Then your system is a bit trashy.'
[...]
In the system's speechless pause, fragmented thoughts flashed through his mind.
'Success... The path now... correct.'
Where was it correct?
Because the more Human God reacted, the more it proved his direction was right.
Human God would only jump with agitation if the future changed in ways He didn't anticipate.
Like now.
And why had he just now spun such a grand and logically sound reason for Isolte? Was it really just for Isolte's ears?
Not entirely.
On the return carriage, Allen had already masked his thoughts with desire, made plans for the next few days, and decided to bring some exciting changes to the royal capital.
The information was mostly complete; all that remained was action.
Thus. Change had already manifested, and correspondingly, the future naturally changed.
And according to verified inferences, Human God's future sight was essentially an ability of 'observation.' He continuously observed His own future. If the future changed, He would search for and establish 'past observation nodes,' i.e., Human God's apostles.
The past and future connecting for an instant, causality collapsing, future sight taking effect—the events that transpired in between would manifest as text in a simulator before Human God's eyes.
But the problem was.
Allen was providing a lie, a false anchor point, a false 'past.'
So, from Human God's perspective, it was like: Why isn't my simulator displaying text anymore?! Huh?!
So, He got agitated again, and quickly came out to fish for information.
He simply couldn't hold back.
Why?
—In just four short days, the future had already changed dozens of times!
Human God felt like He was going to split apart like Laplace.
