Clara's heartbeat began to race and without thinking twice,
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
she let out a loud scream attracting everyone; including Lucas and Catherine who were lost in each other's wild and passionate kiss.
Lucas and Catherine who were busy kissing pulled away with Catherine's breath heaving hard as though she was under water stared at her husband. For some strange reasons, she didn't want the kiss to end. It felt as though the moment they pulled away, something left her blank and cold.
Lucas narrowed his eyes suspiciously when he heard that familiar heartbeat of Clara and like a flash, he vanished into air.
Catherine was shocked as she had never seen her husband disappear into thin air before.
At the same time, she wondered why lady Clara would be screaming.
Clara's loud scream had attracted the royal family member and they all rushed out of their rooms to find out what had caused her to scram in such a terrifying manner.
"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERR?" King Henry's voice thundered in the corridor.
Catherine swallowed hard as she could still feel her lips soft under his kiss. Her cheeks flushed a bright red at the thought of him kissing her all the time. Her heart skip a beat and that bubbling feeling which she had felt in her belly started rising again. But she was quick to compose herself.
She quickly adjusted her breathing knowing fully well the royal vampires were coming towards where the noise is.
She hadn't turn so Clara wouldn't make her feel vulnerable when Lucas wasn't there.
Her husband just disappeared out of the blue the moment Clara screamed.
King Henry walked with fast strides towards his daughter who had screamed and asked once again in a commanding tone,
"What happened?" His voice was low but his tone was authoritative.
Clara who had seen the side of Lucas face looking like a beast slowly gulped. How would she explain to them what she just saw?
Her green eyes then fell on the human girl and she pointed hastily.
"My king, she is the one. I saw her break the flower vase and almost attack one of the maids". Clara said with a low tone, her voice sounded scared as though she had witnessed what she isn't supposed to see.
Catherine's heart skipped a beat at her words and she felt goosebumps on her skin at what she said. What hell is Clara saying? She thought as her gaze slowly moved to look at the paranoid king who was looking at her with a deadly stare.
Queen Riley scoffed coldly.
"I knew it. I knew she is bad luck, I feel the prophetess lied to us about her. Why on earth would she do that?" Her voice was filled malice as she spoke.
"No, your majesty. Dont make rash decisions. Just because Clara saw her break the flower vase and almost attack the maid doesn't mean she is telling the truth". Queen Tira said calmly. She knew her daughter-in-law so well. Catherine is just a human and she would never hurt a fly.
Catherine stared at the first Queen who defended her and she couldn't help but feel touched. Her eyes met the Queen's eyes and she bowed slightly.
King Henry didn't say anything and looked away from Catherine. Since Riley had told him what Lucas did to her at the dinning, he didn't risk nearing her. What if his monster beast appears and kill him? What would happen to the throne? He thought and decided to make his final Judgement.
"Catherine!" He called her.
"Your majesty!" Lady Catherine bowed at the king. She tried her best not to show any nervousness, knowing fully well they were vampires.
"You may leave". He said blankly and with that, he strode away without forgetting to glare to his foolish daughter for creating unnecessary attention. Clara and Queen Riley's eyes widened in disbelief at what the king just did. Did he just let the human girl go? Just like that?
Queen Tira walked towards lady Catherine who was still standing there.
"I apologize for what my step daughter did. That is how she always throw a fit when she needs attention. " She said as she held Catherine's hands, placing her hand on tops of hers, as if to console her.
"It's fine mother. Lady Clara is like my sister. So I won't blame her. " Catherine said with a small smile.
Queen Riley scoffed coldly before dragging her daughter's hand and left that place.
Clara was extremely embarrassed. She knew what she had seen.
"By the way, tell Lucas to take you to your room whenever you guys want to get intimate. Avoid doing it on the corridors". Queen Tira said making Catherine's heart skip a beat.
Her cheeks flushed a bright shade of red and she suddenly lowered her lashes, avoiding the Queen's gaze.
Queen Tira had a big smile on her face.
"No need to feel embarrassed. It's normal. I just pre inform you down to stop some jobless vampires from talking nonsense ". She said reassuringly and Catherine felt extremely relief to hear that.
Then she raised her head slightly and asked in a whisper so no one would hear,
"Are you also a v––?" She asked not finding it comfortable to address the first Queen of Eldrida as a vampire.
Queen Tira, as if knowing what she meant suddenly shook her head indicating no.
"No chiid, I'm not a vampire". She said before she suddenly looked in front of her and saw Lucas walking towards them.
Lucas made his way to where his mother has wife were.
Sensing his magnetic presence,
Catherine turned to look behind her and smiled.
"I will leave you both". The first Queen said before walking away elegantly. She couldn't wait to prove her son's innocent.
The moment she left, Catherine finally asked with a slight frown,
"How did you do that?"
Lucas, knowing what she meant, decided not to answer her and stretched out her hand for her to hold.
