Amado took the instruction manual and began reading. His initial frown quickly vanished. "I didn't expect the manufacturing process to be so simple. I can start experimenting with it very soon."
Torifu nodded. "Good. Of course, the effect won't be exactly the same as my cannon, but it shouldn't be too far off."
Torifu's main reason for doing this was to prepare for the Kage who would likely arrive tomorrow. This would also give Konoha another commodity it could sell. After all, Konoha currently had too few items to export.
Though the village was already very wealthy and Torifu himself was rolling in money, it was still necessary to build up Konoha's economic foundation. When Torifu eventually retired from the Hokage position, he wanted to ensure the future Kage had enough capital to develop the village. No collaboration or trade agreement could last forever. When ninja technology development reached a certain limit, the trade of imported and exported goods would certainly decline significantly.
But that was a matter for the future; the present required his attention first.
"If any Kage come to visit us tomorrow and explicitly express a desire to purchase fireworks, we can accelerate the production."
Amado nodded upon hearing this. "Naturally, I understand completely."
If no one came, Torifu would simply consider himself overly cautious. However, he was certain that this novelty, appearing in the Ninja World for the first time, would definitely pique their interest.
Afterward, everyone chatted in the courtyard for a while. They were too excited from watching the fireworks on the street earlier to fall asleep immediately.
Around eight o'clock, Minato finally took Yahiko and Konan to bed. Amado had already returned to his room much earlier, leaving only Naori and Torifu in the courtyard.
"Whew, it's almost autumn; the nights are getting a bit chilly." Naori said, sipping hot tea in the pavilion while admiring the moon in the sky.
Torifu also felt that the nighttime temperature was indeed cooler than it had been recently. The seasons were always punctual.
"Let's go. Let's head inside and rest. We might have guests tomorrow."
Naori smiled, linked her arm with Torifu's, and they went inside to sleep.
The night passed quietly, and the next morning dawned bright and clear. With Torifu, a Hokage who enjoyed the sun, around, Konoha rarely experienced rain. Luckily, the farmlands weren't located within the village itself, or Torifu would have been scolded.
"Are you awake, Naori? Do you want something to eat?"
Naori opened her eyes, touched her stomach, and smiled. "Now that you mention it, I am a bit hungry. What is there to eat?"
It was a little after seven in the morning, right when the morning market was opening. Torifu didn't feel like going out himself, so he sent a clone to purchase groceries.
"I'd like some porridge. Have the clone bring some back."
"Sure."
In addition to Naori's request, the clone bought other items based on everyone's usual preferences.
By the time the clone returned, Torifu and Naori were already dressed and ready. Minato had also finished his morning training.
"Big Brother, Big Sister-in-law, are you about to eat?"
Naori nodded. "Hurry up and call Yahiko and the others. Also, check if your Second Brother is awake. If he is, call him too."
"Got it."
Minato happily scurried off to call everyone. He returned shortly with the two little children in tow.
"Master, Mistress, good morning."
Yahiko and Konan found seats and began eating breakfast.
"Second Brother seems to still be asleep. We probably don't need to bother him."
Seeing this, Naori didn't press the matter. She sat down and drank her red date porridge.
"Will the Tsuchikage and the others really come? Do we need to prepare anything?"
Torifu shook his head. "Don't worry about it. Whether they come or not is their business. You don't need to be overly nervous; otherwise, it will just seem forced."
This was Naori's first time serving as the Matriarch of a clan and managing household affairs. When she was in the Uchiha Clan, her sister-in-law handled all these matters, and she didn't have to worry about a thing. Now that she was married into the Kumotsuru Clan, she had much to learn and was worried about any potential lapses in hospitality if the Kage came to visit. She decided that she would need to seek advice from her sister-in-law more often in the future.
Torifu knew what Naori was worried about, but he couldn't simply dismiss her concerns with a few words. He could only offer encouragement. The main thing was for Naori to quickly adapt to her new identity. These past two days, she still felt more like a guest and hadn't truly accepted her role as the Matriarch.
After breakfast, Sakumo was right on time to pick up Minato. Yahiko and Konan also left for work.
Only the three of them were left in the compound. Since Amado hadn't woken up yet, only Torifu and Naori remained in the yard. The place instantly grew quiet.
"Is it always this quiet when you're home alone?"
The Uchiha Clan was lively and bustling, so Naori had never experienced this kind of quietness before. But now she was experiencing it firsthand.
Torifu spread his hands helplessly. "I can't help it. The Kumotsuru Clan has very few people, but to showcase the clan's wealth and power, the compound was built to be extremely large. Naturally, it feels very quiet."
Naori smiled. "If I'd known that, I would have brought some maidservants with me."
If she had done so as part of her dowry during the wedding, it wouldn't have been an issue. But now that they were already married, going back to the clan to ask for maidservants would likely invite gossip. To avoid unnecessary trouble, Naori decided against it. She figured she could hire some servants and a housekeeper later. A large clan compound needed to look the part.
Finding nothing else interesting to do, the two of them pulled out their phones and played a few rounds of Naruto.
While they were playing, they heard sounds coming from outside the gate.
"Torifu, are the Kage here?"
Torifu turned off his phone and straightened his clothes. "Let's go. Let's find out."
As soon as they reached the main gate, they saw the Tsuchikage, Kazekage, and Mizukage, along with Ichiryu and Mifune.
A smile broke out on Torifu's face. This was honestly more than he had expected. He thought he would be lucky to attract even one Kage, as fireworks were just a form of entertainment, and the Kage might not be interested in purchasing them. However, it seemed their interest was far higher than Torifu had imagined. Even Ichiryu had come. Perhaps he wanted to buy fireworks to raise the morale of the people in the Land of Iron?
"Hokage-sama, good morning." The group greeted him with smiles.
Torifu immediately returned the greeting and ushered them into the compound.
The mansions where these Kage lived were certainly high-class. But the sight of the Kumotsuru Clan compound made them feel genuinely inferior. The Kumotsuru Clan compound had a distinct garden-style architecture, beautiful to the extreme. Even the construction of the Senju Clan compound couldn't compare to the Kumotsuru Clan, let alone the compounds of other nations.
