Chapter 524 - Chapter 523: Establishing a Factory

The Katō Clan had been in its prime these past few years. Katō Dan was the Anbu Captain, and Katō Kon was the manager of all factories in Konoha.

It could be said that they had directly transformed from an ordinary ninja family into a wealthy minor clan.

Their clan compound had been renovated several times, all funded by Kon, who had purchased some houses around the compound and expanded their home.

This made the Katō Clan's compound several times larger.

Mamiko often scolded Kon about this matter.

After entering the house, they saw Dan's father, Katō Shōzan, sitting on the sofa, comforting little Shizune.

"Oh, Torifu, and Naori, you've arrived!"

Shōzan immediately placed Shizune on the sofa and stood up, walking over to the two of them.

"Uncle Katō, I've brought Naori today to visit you two."

He then took out a small box from his ring: "This is a gift for little Shizune."

"Oh my, it's enough that you came; why bring gifts? You shouldn't have."

Shōzan had stopped being a ninja in recent years, focusing on living a retired life at home.

His two sons had both made him very proud, but he believed it was largely due to Torifu's willingness to mentor them.

Otherwise, they certainly wouldn't have achieved their current status.

They were pivotal figures in the entire village.

"It's just for Shizune. Shizune is also reaching the age for talent testing; she should be able to use it when she becomes a ninja in the future."

Shōzan sighed upon hearing this: "As for being a ninja, I don't think so. Her father didn't have much ninja talent, so I don't have any hopes for that."

But he still accepted Torifu's gift, perhaps as a keepsake.

Mamiko ushered them to sit down, then went to the kitchen to cut some fruit and placed it on the coffee table.

As if hearing sounds from the living room, Dan and Katō Kon walked out.

Upon seeing Torifu and Naori, their first instinct was to greet them as Elder Brother and Sister-in-law.

"Haha, Kon, your sister-in-law and I came here this time, partly to visit Uncle and Aunt, and partly to find you."

Kon was a little surprised to hear this, but he figured his Elder Brother must have another plan.

"Just say the word, Elder Brother. I'll complete any task for you as quickly as possible."

Torifu smiled with satisfaction; this was precisely what was

so good about Kon: he took his work seriously and would not neglect his duties because of his connection to Torifu.

Shōzan also immediately said, "Torifu, just freely command Kon for any tasks you have, and Uncle will keep an eye on him for you."

It had to be said that coming to the Katō household always made Torifu quite happy. After so many years together, they were no different from family.

Shōzan's words were, of course, just a joke.

"It's like this: you all must have seen last night's fireworks, and the Kage from other countries also saw them. They became interested in the fireworks, and so they came to me to purchase some."

Everyone nodded their heads after hearing this. The fireworks were truly too beautiful; let alone the Kage, even they wanted to buy some to watch!

"So I thought of opening a new factory to produce fireworks for sale across the ninja world, and in the future, villagers themselves can also purchase fireworks to set off."

This suggestion received unanimous praise from the Katō family, and Torifu also realized that everyone truly loved fireworks so much.

Katō Dan said seriously, "Then, Elder Brother, I'll go gather some manpower this afternoon and start constructing the new factory. I'll just need you to send a few ninjas to clear some trees for me."

The trees on the back mountain were quite old, and felling them would take a good amount of time, but with ninjas, it would achieve twice the result with half the effort.

"Alright, I'll send a few ninjas skilled in swordsmanship this afternoon."

The factory matters were not difficult to resolve; he left everything to Kon. However, recruiting staff required Torifu's involvement.

Once a notice was posted on Central Street, the entire village's residents would erupt in excitement.

The factories Torifu had established employed nearly one-third of Konohagakure's civilians.

This greatly increased employment opportunities for Konoha villagers, and countless villagers vied desperately to get in.

The main reason was that the benefits and treatment were simply too good.

Wages were almost double that of external jobs, and no overtime was required.

Once inside the factory, unless they committed a major error, they would generally not be fired.

So it was equivalent to an iron rice bowl; how could people not covet it?

After this recruitment opened, there would surely be huge crowds again, and the interviewers were in for a tough time.

"So, then Kon, you should focus on construction this afternoon. You should be familiar with the entire process. When clearing the site, clear a bit more, as your second elder brother's new batch of electrical appliances might have been developed."

"Alright, rest assured, Elder Brother!"

Having trustworthy people was a truly relaxing thing. One could entrust important matters to them without having to worry too much oneself.

Katō Dan and Katō Kon, these two brothers, were trustworthy people in Torifu's heart.

Torifu didn't even need to inquire about things because the two of them always handled them perfectly.

However, trust was one thing, but he couldn't be complacent. Torifu would randomly check up on them at irregular intervals each month.

This was to ensure everything was foolproof.

After assigning the tasks, Torifu chatted for a while longer at the Katō home.

It was then that he learned Tsunade had already left after dinner.

From their conversation, Torifu learned that Dan and Tsunade seemed to be moving out to live elsewhere after getting married.

They didn't plan to stay within the Katō clan compound.

Instead, they would purchase a courtyard next to the compound and rebuild it.

Mamiko and Shōzan had no objections whatsoever to this; they both knew what Tsunade was worried about.

From their daily conversations, it was clear that Tsunade wasn't quite accustomed to interacting with elders, and she was, moreover, a pampered princess.

If she lived with Mamiko and Shōzan, she would definitely feel uncomfortable all over.

So when Dan proposed this idea, Mamiko and Shōzan naturally agreed.

And even if they moved out, it would only be to the next-door courtyard.

As for serving her in-laws, that would be even more terrifying. Not only was Mamiko not that kind of person, but even with her second daughter-in-law, a commoner, Mamiko never casually ordered her around.

What's more, Tsunade was the First Hokage's precious granddaughter. If people heard that Princess Tsunade was daily serving her in-laws after marriage,

The villagers would probably storm their home and tear the old couple to pieces.

So, to avoid a lot of unnecessary gossip, moving out was the best solution.

A harmonious family prospers in all things, and the Katō Clan was in a period of continuous growth; they couldn't let trivial matters affect the family's development.

Shōzan truly hoped his clan would one day become a major clan.
