Zed - This isn't what we planned!
Room was filled with gunfire. Duval was taking cover behind a counter, near a bleeding and dying servant. Zed was crouching behind the oposite direction of the same side of a counter, and reached out to pull her sawed off double barrel shotguns known as "Lupara". Security team kept shooting at everyone who was still alive in that cart, which meant Zed and Duval, since everyone else was already either dead or on step away from a death door.
Duvsal - Something tells me, that they are not a security team!Zed - Who is it then?
Duvsal - Does it matter right now? We have to make our own way out of here!
For a moment, shooting stopped. Then Duval and Zed heard strange metalic sound. Zed took it as a cue to act, and jumped out of the cover with gun already drawn and ready. And just as she though, one of the three 'security' personal, had weapon lovered and grenade in hand. Other two 'security', were distracted by a sudden shots from Duval's side of the counter.
With a swift full bore shot, Zed managed to hit everyone in front of her. Coins started flying instead of a pellets. These coins were tearing through clothes, flesh and bone alike. But when one of the coins managed to hit the grenade in hand of a 'security', a liquid fire errupted from a red collored grenade, and all three of 'security' personal were engulfed in flames.
Small corridor became a fire wall and anyone caught in flames were no diffrent from dry wood for a furnace. For a just a few moment, all three man started screaming, but just as they started, the screams came to an end and a dark smoke quickly started filling the cart.
Duvsal - Damn it! Why does it always has to be such a hustle?
Thanks to Zed's quick reaction and observation. She took extinguisher and hurryed to put out the fire. It took a minute, but as result, fire was extinguished and extinguisher was empty.
Duvsal - How the hell did you found out that this is not a 'security' team?
Zed - Noticed a 'Red Hawk' logo on a jacket inside security room. And few boxes of ammo, weapons and explosives... It seem's like you are not the only one who was hired to hit on this train.
While explaining, Zed tossed aside fire extinguisher and leaned over a burnt body of a 'security' to check if he had any emblems on them.
Duvsal - 'Red Hawk'? This time they jumped way above their head! Thankfully, Harry and Sam should be able to stop the train at the turning point. But we better hurry!
Now that surroundings were much less loud, Duval and Zed could hear somone shooting in other carts. For a moment, Duval was skeptical, but then he looked at Zed who reloaded her "Lupara".
Duvsal - Okay, here is the plan. I will try to reach the front cart and see if I can slowdown that train. You will take care of our hit list and our unwelcomed guests.
Zed - You said that Harry and Sam are on it!
Duvsal - The idea was that SOMEONE will stop the train. But what if they taken over and abandoned head cart? If that's the case, we are going to fly off the rails on this damn train.
Zed - Fine! I got it! I'l clear out the back area.
Satisfied with the reaction, Duval headed to the head of the train. Thankfully, it was just a three carts away from this one. The tail was a more of a problem for Zed, and she walked through burnt metal and over roasted corpses to reach for the door.
After a slight delay, the door opened, revealing the compartment area with a little corridor and few corpses of guests and servants. But not a single 'security' or rather 'red hawk' member. Or maybe, the trio that was fried till crisp skin, was the perpetrator of all dead here. No matter what was an answer to her guess, she just kept moving foward while checking each compartment, just to make sure that nobody is left alive in this ordeal.
With each step, the sound of a gunfight were comming closer and closer and it seemed that the next railcar had a surprise in store. Once the door slided open, an incredible scene appeared in front of Zed. Man in a suit and 'red hawk' member were stuck in CQC, each grasping at the assault rifle and not letting the other to control it. The cart itself was filled with corpses of many people, starting from servants, to passangers that were "on the list" and even one more 'red hawk' member right under Zed's feet. He was even still holding his rifle, even after death. Some cheap sort of AK.
Not wanting to waste her own ammo, Zed took AR from the grasps of the dead 'hawk' and made few shots from the hip. Each bullet landed right at the back of a bullet vest of a 'security'. Bullets didn't penetrated the vest, but the pain was enough for him to fall and the man in the suit to finaly win the fight over a rifle. Withot hesitation, man in the suit aimed at 'hawk' and put a bullet into his head... Twice. The man looked at Zed and relaxed for moment.
Man - Thanks... *exhausted sigh*... You came here right on time! | Zed - Is there anyone else?
Man - No, I don't think so. But before they started an attack *hu-h* I saw a big group of 'security' team going over to a cargo cart. Maybe they are here to rob the train?
Zed - Well, that's a good guess... But thanks, I appreciate that.
Not even looking at the man, Zed sligtly raised the rifle and pulled a triger. A bullet pierced through a man's skull, and he dropped dead in an instant. But just to be sure, she shot his head again while passing by. And that was one more name taken off the list and something was strange was going on in an cargo compartment.
Next railcart welcomed Zed with a two more 'hawks' raiding through room to room. Behind some woman's screams, they didn't even heard Zed slowly walk up from behind. One 'hawk' kicked a woman into her stomach, while another were rummaging through bags and briefcases.
'Tall Hawk' - Where is it? You are going to die either way, and we will find it anyway!
Woman - I don't know! I don't know what you are talking about.
The man raised his fist to strike her again, but a shot through a neck stopped him. Another 'hawk' pulled out a pistol as if it was a muscle memory, and even managed to shot, but bullet went through a window glass behind Zed, and then he was stop eight times. Poor woman was covered in blood, and tried to scream with the rest of her strengh.
Zed - Hey, Hey, easy there! You are safe for now! Take it easy, take it easy.
Woman - Oh, Noy... No... Nein...
After making sure that there was nobody else nearby, Zed dropped the gun aside and tied to comfort the woman. Her face was unknown, which meant that she was not on the list.
Zed - What happened here?Woman - Mine know not... No... Don't know...
Zed - *Urgh* ... Nevermind. Why do I even bother?
Annoyed and not without a reason. Zed closed the door, she is here not to save people. Just to kill thouse she has to and get back. Everything else is not her worry. While thinking that, Zed noticed a car, just outside of a broken train window, and someone just latched on and was trying to get inside, so Zed pulled out her shotgun and prepeared to meet the guest. But soon, when a heavy frame of a doll fell on a floor in front of her, she realized that this was a familiar huge doll with green hair...
Zed - Weren't you supposed to blow up a railroad tracks and stop the train?
=== Deeper into the yellow zone ===
JayJay - Where the hell are even are they? Come one, pick up a damn call!
Under a watch of Beda, JayJay were walking back and forth with his communicator in hands. It was already a seventh attempt to call at Sam or Harry. But neither of them picked up a call.
Just a hour ago, Beda recived a call from a Kilmure, as was surprised to hear that most of his team missing and doing requests from high-value personas. What he was even more surprised, is that nobody even bothered to explain anything to him other than "we are doing some side jobs" and "we are having a tough time here". And after managing to understand the whole situation, he understood that they might endup clashing with eachother, since everyone were moving and operationg somewhere in the same region.
After a brief call, Kilmure suggesterd for Beda to share information with JayJay, which she did. And JayJay spent the last few minutes trying to make a call on Harry or Sam.
JayJay - No... This in not good... They are not picking up!
Beda - Keep calling, I'l check on with Mangie if they know something.
JayJay - Yeah yeah, doll boss!
It would be a lie, If Beda said that she wasn't enjoying her position over here. But she had no will to spend more than necessary energy and time to enjoy herself. With hurryed step, she walked from one side of temparery camp to another. Mangie soldiers were having a hard time understanding, what should they do at the sight of doll in command of them. Most of them would just stop for a few moments and then continue with what they were doing. Not unlike in sight of Shafir, where everyone would suddenly tense up and even start walking by the book.
Soon, Beda walked straight into mobile command center and approached Shafir who were in the middle of a talk with recon team.
Shafir - ... keep on looking. But don't engage. | Beda - Something happened?
Shafir - That is no way to address higher...
With annoyence and frustration, Shafir turned away from the radio, but as his eyes landed on Beda. He was more frustrated than annoyed, but managed to stop himself from saying anything else.
Shafir - What is it? I didn't called for you here.
Beda - Do we have anyone looking out at the railroad?
Shafir - Railroad? The hell? | Beda - Does anyone watching the railroad?
Shafir - Yes we do! Give me a second here... Bloody doll... Thinks she is so smart...
The last part he said in whispering, but loud doll, as if taunting her. But Beda din't care to this matter. She just watched as Shafir changed frequency on a terminal and pressed "talk" button.
Shafir - Team Rail. This is center, report on your status? Over.
But nothing happened. The terminal were waiting for anything. But nothing was happening. After a few moments, Shafir sighed and then pressed on a "talk" button again.
Shafir - Team Rail. This is center! Report on your status. Over!
Once again, nobody answered. After a minute of silence, Shafir turned to face Beda with confusion. All traces of anger and frustration he had a moment ago dissapeared. Then Shafir changed frequency once again.
Shafir - Aaron. Answer me!
Within a few seconds respond came. | Aaron (Audio) - Yes captain?
Shafir - Take your boys and a girl. Form a strike team and move out to team Rail.
Aaron (Audio) - Yes sir! When are we heading out?Shafir - Right now.
Aaron (Audio) - Right now?Shafir - RIGHT NOW! | Aaron (Audio) - Got it sir!
The answer was set and plan was in motion. Beda shaked her head, not really understanding why.
Beda - I will be moving out. Something is...Shafir - You are not going anywhere.
As Beda was about to walk out of command center. Shafir raised his voice. Beda stopped in a moment and turned to see Shafir turned in his chair to face her.
Beda - What do you mean?
Shafir - Like it or not, you are a high value person over here. Or rather, a high value doll. If your put yourself on a line and get's destroyed, it would be a hit to my team reputation. So no, you are staying here. You can send your other dolls if you wan't. But you are not going anywhere.
This almost made Beda crash on a spot. And what did he called her? "High value doll"? That was rich coming from someone like him. But exactly that made whole situation even more confusing. So confusing in fact, that Beda didn't knew how to answer. And watched silently as Shafir turned to face the terminal again. Door leading out of command center suddenly made a strange sound, and small green light on handle was changed to a red. It was understandable what it ment even without trying to open the door.
It took Beda some time to come back to her senses and understand what was going on. But when she did, she quickly made a call on level 2 to Nomomo, who answered almost immediately.
Nomomo (level 2) - Yes?
Beda (level 2) - Shafir recon team at the reailroad is not answering! He is sending a strike team there. Take Blaze and go out with them.
Nomomo (level 2) - Got it!
Just like it started, the call ended after just a word from Nomomo. Now, this matter was setteled and the matter of things in front of her was still in question. Beda walked up to Shafir.
Shafir - How did you knew?
Sudden question was adressed to Beda, when she barely reached to a nearby chair near a holo-table, only to realise that it is welded and immovable. So she sat down on it instead.
Beda - About a railroad?
Shafir - Yes... Nobody asks anything without a reason. There has to be a reason to why you asked about that damned railroad and important reason, so that you approached me for that.
Beda - I just recently got the info that a train from Minsk to Warsaw is in his way.
Thinking about it, Shafir was concerned, and turned to face Beda again.
Shafir - Is that a real reason? | Beda - Does it matter to you?
Both Shafir and Beda kept looking at eachother as if it is some kind of a staring contest. Eventualy, Shafir returned his attention to the terminal and started pressing buttons.
Shafir - As I said. I have my eyes on you. If you give me at least one reason to doubt you. There won't be anyone who would save you or your clients.
Beda - I don't need my clients to step up for me. I know what I am doing.
Shafir - For your safety, I hope so, little doll.
Everyone else in a command center, which were just a three communication officers, felt uncomfortable with both Shafir and Beda at their side. So everyone were trying at being as busy as they could only appear, while sitting in a command center.
