--- Chapter 463 ---
"M-Me?" Ye Ziyun blinked in absolute disbelief, pointing a trembling finger at herself as her heart skipped a beat.
Han Yuan nodded gently, his silver eyes reflecting the falling snow. "Yes, you."
"Believe it or not, Ziyun, you are the key to keeping this timeline locked in place. The final piece of the puzzle I have been searching for." He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in. "Do you know why?"
Ye Ziyun looked utterly puzzled, her mind racing to find an answer. Finally, the faint cold sensation emanating from the mark on her forehead quickly offered a small clue.
"Is it... because I inherited the divine legacy of the Ice God?"
"Exactly," Han Yuan replied, his lips curving into a satisfied smile. "As you know, I have interacted with someone from the far future."
"It was through him that I learned of your direct connection to one of the Extreme North's Three Heavenly Kings, their unrivaled leader, the Snow Empress, who, under normal circumstances, would be your future self transforming into a spirit beast."
He took a step closer, his voice turning serious. "Nevertheless, because I intervened and saved Glory City from its tragic fate, that original timeline is no longer viable.":
"To prevent the flow of time from tumbling and to keep the past, present, and future seamlessly stitched together, we require an anchor. And you, Ziyun, are the perfect candidate."
Ye Ziyun listened intently, her breath catching in her throat as Han Yuan unveiled the ideal method to save the timeline. "But... how?"
"The people of the future were baffled," Han Yuan explained calmly. "They wondered how the Ice God could be so tied closely to the Heavenly Snow Maidens, and specifically, to the Snow Empress herself."
"They knew of your affinity with the Ice God's Heart, but a mere spiritual connection is not the same as the status of divinity."
His gaze shifted to the horizon, tracing the invisible lines of fate. "But now, everything has changed."
"You have become the True Heir of the Ice God, a very noble status with absolute authority over the Extreme North, especially since Hanlong Nuji herself couldn't care less about a god's title."
"With this divinity, we can subtly rewrite history without altering the future much."
"What... what kind of change do you intend to make, Lord Han?" Ye Ziyun whispered, awe-struck by the sheer scale of his ambition.
"I want you to create a lineage... Specifically, yours, and not just Hanlong Nuji's," Han Yuan revealed bluntly. "Using your newfound divine origin as the template, you will create a brand-new species of spirit beasts in this era, the Heavenly Snow Women."
"Furthermore, your close friends will also be included within this creation, given their future self also accompanied you in the path of becoming a spirit beast."
He turned back to her, his smile carrying smugness. "By doing this, the self-binding loop is finally broken, straightening out into an unbroken timeline."
"The past is maintained, the future is secured, and Glory City's history will never fade."
"This..." Ye Ziyun covered her mouth, her mind spinning. One had to admit that Han Yuan's plan was flawless.
However, a massive problem still loomed.
A glaring flaw in the logic.
"But Lord Han, didn't you tell me that the Snow Empress carried the very destiny and luck of the Extreme North? Even if I can give birth to a new race using my new power, I couldn't possibly do something as absurd as bestowing cosmic luck."
"And that is exactly where my role comes in," Han Yuan replied smoothly, flashing her a confident smile. "One of my martial souls has the unique power to manipulate destiny and fortune to a certain degree."
"Anchoring the luck of the entire Extreme North, and perhaps even Glory City, is difficult, but far from impossible for me."
If there was one martial soul that Han Yuan had developed to its absolute peak during his time in the Dou Qi Plane, it was the Purple Dawn Mist. Because it was paired with the spirit rings of the natural Auspicious Beast, the Auspicious Wind-Riding Beast, its innate capabilities had evolved even further than its elemental abilities.
Not only had Han Yuan constructed a new domain, perfected world, using this martial soul as a foundation, but the luck-manipulation properties of the Purple Dawn Mist had also grown terrifyingly potent.
Over the years, Han Yuan had plundered the destiny of various individuals throughout the Dou Qi Plane.
Of course, he didn't use this luck for himself. Instead, he granted it to his loyal followers, giving them smoother cultivation, rapid advancement, and a significantly higher chance of breaking through to higher realms.
Granting this providence to the Heavenly Snow Women wouldn't just give them a purpose aligned with their future roles, but would also bind their entire race to Han Yuan's war chariot.
"Luck manipulation..." Ye Ziyun murmured, her mind telling her that such a conceptual spirit sounded too heaven-defying, like a total sham.
Yet, a deep instinct within her soul insisted Han Yuan was telling the truth. Besides, she had already witnessed too many miraculous wonders from this man to doubt him now.
"Is there truly such a bizarre martial soul in this world?"
Han Yuan reached out and gently flicked Ye Ziyun's nose. "You, a young lady raised in a secluded, isolated city, couldn't possibly know the boundless wonders of the outside world."
"Let alone luck manipulation, there are countless bizarre martial souls out there that are no weaker than mine."
He withdrew his hand, his eyes turning amused. "However, those people have either not been born yet, or their brilliance is utterly buried by the harsh eras they reside in."
"In the end, it all leads back to one singular thing... Luck."
"The most intangible, yet miraculous concept of life."
"Of course, even if you have immense luck, if you don't have the strength or wisdom to act upon it... You will only end up wasting heaven's favors."
"And that is what I call true tragedy."
"Alright, enough talking. Chop, chop, summon your friends," He added, clapping his hands together to snap Ye Ziyun back to reality.
"Ah! Yes, Lord Han," Ye Ziyun hurriedly nodded, immediately sending word for her ministers and closest companions to gather at the City Lord's mansion.
A few minutes later, Bingqing, Xiaomei, Yuran, Zhilin, and Chenxi arrived at the grand hall, their expressions a mixture of nervous awe and intense curiosity.
Frankly, they hadn't yet found the right chance to thank their mysterious savior and new ruler. Furthermore, none of them had dared to disturb a powerful man who could defeat a literal god.
What if he finds us annoying?
Naturally, this was entirely their own misunderstanding. The moment they locked eyes with Han Yuan, any lingering fears vanished, replaced by an allure with his charisma and his vision to save Glory City.
When the details were explained, they readily agreed to participate. They weren't just swayed by Han Yuan and Ye Ziyun's persuasion. They were moved by the chance to save their own future selves from suffering.
"What should we do, Lord Han?" Six beautiful women surrounded Han Yuan, their voices chiming in unison as they asked the same question.
Although living in the Dou Qi Plane made Han Yuan well accustomed to having beauties on his side, being the focus of six pairs of expectant, brilliant eyes left him feeling somewhat dazed.
He cleared his throat to cover his slight discomfort and then instructed, "Simply follow my arrangements. Sit within the formation array I have inscribed upon the floor, and clear your minds for meditation."
He turned his gaze toward the center. "And Ziyun, prepare to tap into the latent within your bloodline."
"Yes, Lord Han!" The six women answered in sync, their collective sighs and passion causing Han Yuan to let out another dry, slightly awkward cough.
'Damn, talking about luck! I am such a lucky guy!' Han Yuan couldn't help but comment in his heart.
