"Great today we get to go on a field trip to the new science museum in New York that was built on the battlefield from the 2012 alien invasion! Even though this is the 4th time the school has taken us there I'm still excited about it!!"
I typed the message on my phone screen skillfully read it twice before posting it on social media then put my phone in my pocket so I could enjoy the atmosphere of the field trip with my classmates sitting together on the same bus crossing the bridge just a few blocks away from our destination
Everyone looked. . . so bored with coming to this museum There wasn't any of the excited chatter like the first time Everyone just stared down at their phones so the bus was really quiet There was no cheerful field trip atmosphere at all Even Ned my best friend was looking down holding his phone sideways playing Stark's Avengers an officially licensed mobile game from the Avengers team with storylines ranging from real world battles to imaginary wars fighting the Chitauri that invaded cities all over the world It was a hit game released along with the purge of all pirated games from the Play Store
70% of the game's revenue from players buying team characters uniforms items and upgrade gear would be donated to charities Most of it went to Damage ControlStark's team that cleaned up the battlefields where the Avengers had smashed I mean handled villains which caused environmental damage After cleanup they would restore the area buildings homes and people so they could live normally again
In the Queens area this year where dimensional portals had opened 2-3 times that team also came to inspect the sites asking residents if they were physically affected If there were visible wounds proven to have occurred during those alien or interdimensional disaster events they would receive full treatment and could even claim insurance money to use during recovery As for mental issues they had to be carefully evaluated by psychiatrists first before any payout There was a precise screening system to separate those faking injuries to get free money
Of course the algorithm of STARK Industry was amazing thanks to the brilliant design of Mr. Stark!
"Pete daily login for Stark's Avengers yet?" Ned asked still looking down controlling Black Widow fighting through the Chitauri swarm attacking the Great Wall of China seriously and focused because he was playing on HARD mode It made enemies tougher stronger hit harder and required pressing combo skills with perfect timing to clear 5 stars and get full rewards If you left it on Auto battle it would take forever and at best give 2 stars From the results of our dozen or so test runs together
"Yeah" I replied immediately But before we could talk further my Spider Sense went off My body got chills all over My head turned left toward the side of the bus and I saw a scene that. . . should I say was familiar?
"New York's being invaded by aliens again!" Ned who noticed I had gone silent looked up and turned in the same direction I was looking and saw a donut-shaped spaceship with a hole in the center but its size was huge definitely taller than the Stark Tower in downtown New York!
"Againnnnnn!!" many people on the bus shouted out with alarm shock but. . . they were kind of used to it by now Events like this were practically as common as fires Everyone knew the evacuation procedure well so every car on the bridge stopped opened their doors and people calmly lined up walking away from the scene as if it was just another drill
At first this had always been a problem for me having another identity Every time there was an evacuation whether real or a drill one of the strict security procedures was to check attendance to make sure everyone traveling together was accounted for
Many times your friendly neighborhood me couldn't slip away to help with an emergency But this time. . . I had to because a swarm of Chitauri with jetpacks was breaking off like a beehive heading straight toward the homeless shelter where Aunt May worked!
"Ned!"
"Got it!!" my best friend who'd been my assistant since the Homecoming incident helped draw attention again I quickly grabbed my backpack with the Spider-Man suit put on the web-shooters on both wrists and jumped off the bridge shooting webs to swing toward the Chitauri heading for Aunt May's workplace immediately

My fists and feet struck with almost full force "nearly 100%" Normally when fighting street thugs I'd only use about 10-20% because I was afraid of accidentally killing someone My body bitten by a radioactive spider had evolved so much that just snapping my fingers could shatter a car window
But with these aliens if I didn't hit with full power I was afraid they wouldn't be down and I was right Even hitting almost full strength it still took several punches and kicks before they were out of the fight
"2012 ones weren't this strong Have they upgraded their army?" I muttered to myself before my Spider Sense went off again. . . violently I instantly looked around and saw multiple purple laser beams coming at me by the dozens I quickly jumped dodging and moved on instinct

Ugh. . .
Thud thud thud
Ziiiiiingggggggggggggg
Kraaaashhhhhhhhhhhh
2 or 3 laser beams hit my side making me lose balance and fly crashing onto the tin roof of an abandoned warehouse And the next second a rain of purple laser blasts fell destroying the entire roof I fell through crashing onto the open floor below It didn't hurt much from the fall but the wound on my side burned sharply It was the same kind of pain as when I fought the Vulture who used a gun built from Chitauri tech wreckage from 2012
But this time it hurt worse. . . much worse My right hand reached to touch the burning area and found blood flowing heavily Though the wound was slowly closing thanks to my enhanced healing this was the first time I'd been this badly injured so early in a fight It made me feel scared again
Since getting my Spider-Man powers I'd only ever feared not being able to save others in time This was the first time I feared I might die And seeing 20-30 Chitauri flying in with jetpacks surrounding me with their laser rifles aimed from all directions
"Ugh. . . what should I do" In my head 3 or 4 escape plans popped up but before I could decide which one had the best chance of survival a barrage of purple lasers came flying at me!
