Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: A Normal Day in New York #2 • 7 Days Felt Like 700 Years

Perspective of Thor

For Asgardians, just 7 days in Earth time is something that passes very quickly. In just a blink of an eye it would be gone. . . it should have been like that.

But the 7 days I stayed in the New York Sanctum under the care of the Surgeon of Death who completely subdued Loki and organized the mind of the Goddess of Death of Asgard who had been sealed for thousands of years was like. . .

Even the wrath of Hela whose power could tear through dimensions and break prison spells cast by Odin himself could do nothing against the magic of the Sorcerer Supreme who had only held his position for less than a year. . . nothing at all!

Hela whose physical strength could shatter my Mjolnir easily!Hela whose magic could see through every illusion, trick, and magical deception Loki used!!

Strange granted me and Loki the opportunity to fight. . . no that word "fight" wasn't right at all. . .

It was Hela destroying us one-sidedly over and over again looping endlessly inside the Time Chamber. . . or it should be called the Death Chamber where Hela vented her hatred toward Odin on me and Loki again and again.

I died and was reborn hundreds of times. Sometimes by her death sword, sometimes by the pressure of her long elegant fingers that could crush Mjolnir in an instant and my head burst in just a few seconds as well.

But every time I was reborn I learned from my mistakes and improved myself more and more until finally without using Mjolnir I could control lightning freely and fight Hela longer than before but still. . . lost anyway.

Loki stopped playing with knives and focused seriously on magic until he could conjure an army of his own clones to gang up on Hela.

But that was like unlocking Hela's full power. She summoned the ancient Asgardian warriors. . . millions of them!

The Death Chamber which was once a vast hall became a grassy battlefield through transformation by the master of the place who had been secretly watching us three Asgardians fighting each other all along and constantly supported our lives pulling me and Loki back from death to face the Goddess of Death of Asgard again and again.

7 days passed in the real world and finally Hela was satisfied. . . because she had killed me and Loki hundreds or thousands of times across what felt like thousands of years in this dimension Strange created.

He explained that this wasn't just therapy for Hela's emotions and feelings but also training for me and Loki to realize the terrifying truth that outside the 9 Realms of Asgard there were countless powerful beings waiting to invade and conquer worlds.

Even though it seemed like he had dragged me and Loki into hell, tortured to death and reborn repeatedly, it was still a good experience that helped both of us grow immensely so we would be ready to face the obstacles that would soon hit the human world immediately after hearing about two major consecutive events. . .

The Sorcerer Supreme, Ancient One, had died. Dormammu invaded Earth and nearly conquered this world, but Strange used the TIME STONE to deal with Dormammu.

And now Odin, the GOD Father of the 9 Realms, had also passed away. The territories of Asgard would be challenged by outsiders and a civil uprising within was inevitable.

Not to mention the many minor scattered events I heard about that made me unable to help but feel fear. . . especially the Magic Devourers from another dimension who invaded Midgard. They possessed power strong enough to create fields that nullified all magic!

Even rune spells, lightning power, Asgardian divine magic, or Hela's death sword all turned to dust instantly when Strange crushed a small white cube like a sugar cube into tea releasing a colorless odorless mist that erased all special powers.

Even though my physical strength remained, being cut off from my connection to lightning power made me feel fear again like the first time I was exiled by Father.

The threat from the Magic Devourers was now one of the greatest dangers to humankind. Not to mention the side effect of their presence tearing rifts in dimensions making them extremely fragile causing interdimensional beings to invade Earth once or twice every month.

All of this made me and Loki decide to continue our training a little longer, and when we finally emerged from the Time Chamber New York was being invaded by the Chitauri. . . again!

"What's the situation?" I asked Strange who was sitting cross-legged floating calmly in front of my training room to control the Time Stone adjusting the flow of time within and protecting our lives so that me and Loki wouldn't really die from our fierce elder sister's death sword. Even after training together for at least 700 years in the chamber, her anger toward Odin hadn't lessened at all and she continued to vent it on me her son and younger brother.

As for Loki. . . he survived by saying he was just an adopted child who had been brought along and because he was also a sorcerer they became close within the first hundred years and often teamed up to gang up on me. . . ahhh being the future king of Asgard naturally meant facing many trials like this.

"Well. . . just another peaceful day in New York." Strange's teasing answer made my left eye twitch rapidly before I raised my right hand pointing at the large floating TV screen in front of us which showed a giant ring-shaped spaceship breaking through the clouds hovering over New York releasing hundreds of Chitauri with jetpacks firing purple lasers destroying buildings all around.

"This is what you call peaceful!"

"Well. . . this time might be a bit rougher than before but still considered normal. At least these beings came through in a physical form which means they can be attacked using human technology." The more serious tone in his reply made my right eye twitch too. Was this his definition of normal!

"If you don't want more damage to the city go out there and help the people." I nodded immediately before my body turned into electric light and I dashed toward the location shown on the screen in an instant. This was a new ability I developed to dodge Hela's death sword that eventually became my movement technique replacing the old way of flying with Mjolnir.

"For Asgard!"

When I arrived the electric charges around the 192 Chitauri surrounding me were controlled to trigger chain reactions causing energy to connect continuously and then. . .
