"Gilbert, how could you let her in?" Luther Watson demanded, his face dark as he watched Susie's car drive straight through the gates.
"Don't worry, Dad. I know what I'm doing." Gilbert's tone was calm, his expression unreadable.
"Just be careful. Nothing good ever comes of her visits," Luther warned before turning away.
As soon as he left, Claire pulled her hand free. "Let go of me."
This man could really put on an act, just moments ago, he'd told Susie he loved "women like her."
He used her as a shield yet called it love!
Men's talk of love was nothing but empty words!
She turned to leave.
Just then, a maid approached. "Ms. Miler, the ceremony staff have arrived."
Claire followed the maid away.
Gilbert watched her retreating figure, about to follow, when ColdBlood hurried over and whispered a few words in his ear. His eyes darkened, and without another glance, he turned and left with him.
Susie Watson strode into the living room.
