"So thats all?"
"Indeed young master."
Currently as he sat in a sci-fi spaceship on his way back to the city, Ajax recounted every detail of the information he just heard from the captain of the solders who is named Simon.
He was Felix Ethrik, son of Ather Ethrik a big business tycoon of a multi-planet corporation, rich from birth with access to most of the things people could imagine.
However he was also the biggest idiot in the emotional sense and have drove away both servants and friends because he had a superiority complex.
'What is it with isekai backgrounds being messed up? Why can't I be average for once?' Ajax thought, sitting hand on hand.
He turned to Simon, finding him nervous to the point of shivering with pale face that seemed to oozing fear. Ajax couldn't help but shake his head, if it was the old Felix he would execute the Simon as soon as he reached the city but Ajax was different.
"Simon."
"YES! "
"Calm down a little, you should be thankful I have decided to show you a little mercy."
The pale face of Simon recovered slightly, a slight suspicion forming in his heart at the sudden kindness that seemed like a trap.
"Are you really going to-"
"Do I need to repeat myself!? Scram! "
Simon stood up and left at once, a sudden burst of relief in his mind that it was still his young master and not some doppelganger.
He went to the next room, his arrival greeted with worried faces of his Comrades looking at him with pity as they offered him a piece of a pie.
"Thank you for taking the blame for us boss. We would never forget you until we die!"
"We Will Not!!"
𝚃𝚑𝚠𝚊𝚌𝚔
"I am still alive you piece of shi**! The young master spared us,So be thankful to him! " Simon roared at his crew and struck each of them with his fist of care.
They all looked back at him baflled, some of them even making a face of doubt at his statement.
"Stop lying! That monster doesn't spare even his personal nanny! "
"That's right! There is no way he is sparing you!"
"Um.. I think he cools calmer than before."
The light girl also known by her nickname-blitzy, innocently shattered the flow of thoughts in a instant.
"He is no longer cursing us anymore. He just kept looking out of the window and haven't spoke a single curse word yet." She said to others, giving them a piece of suggestions.
"I am gonna disbowl that piece of dog sh**."
Of course, at this moment the voice of Ajax screaming on something came from the room, throwing away all the decent image blitzy had built for him.
"He is the same."
"I agree."
" We should dip."
The group forgot about the earlier conversation without hesitation, there was no way someone like their young master was going to change his personality from a single incident.
Meanwhile Ajax was grabbing his own hair, ripping out strands of it in frustration with blood shot eyes. In front of him was a floating panel, not a system but rather a internet search showing how much people hate him.
Comments like 'we wanna skin him' and 'he deserves punishment' were so much in numbers that it confused Ajax whether he was a tycoon's child or a goddarn terrorist.
'Calm down, deep breaths. Huff huff... Phew, I almost lost it.. I have to find something else, anything!' He thought and slided away the comments to go to the popular news Instead.
There he saw a article, a article showing famous technopath newcomers in the modulous federation.
"Technopaths? Well, lets see what this is." He whispered under his breath and went on the site.
There he found a list of people, people of all ages and looks being ranked by their fame in the galaxy and their strength in wielding cores.
"Seems like a group of super soldiers. But why make them famous?"
Little did Ajax knew, this was his new life's goal and the new world's foundation and with a click and a visit to a open source wiki, he found out the truth and closed the Internet with despairing eyes.
"I messed up. " Ajax thought out loud, he wasn't in some normal super world or a magic one, "It's the darned mecha and Sci-fi genre. I am screwed."
Being in a sci-fi world meant he would have to take on implants or go sit in a corner in some off road local town to survive.
Realising he was going to targetted because of his background. Ajax thanked his parents,"I should be thankful I atleast have some rich parents but- *sheds a tear* I am gonna have to become a cyborg at this rate."
However there was no longer time for him to just around and waste. Each second he came closer to the city and closer to the millions of critic wolves hiding in plain sight. He maybe overthinking it but over cautious is mostly better than being unaware.
With a deep breath and internal motivational speech to himself, Ajax opened the internet again, this time was gonna go find every article there was about himself and then learn everything about cores when he returns to his new house.
"Let's see *doomscrolling on a site called Rexbit* Heh that cat looks funny... " Ajax slaps himself, "control Ajax, don't let the past hobbies take over. I should be seeing videos about myself, not some funny animal posts. That reminds me.. Is there anime in this world?"
Unluckily there was, and Ajax got so lost in finding a new library of anime that he forgot to do what he was supposed to.
At the same time, Simon and his crew saw this on the camera and thought Ajax was going insane. It unbelievable to think that someone as grupmy as their young master felix would indulge in anime and laugh while talking to himself.
"Are you sure he didn't hit his head too strong? His entire personality is changing upside down!.. Maybe except the cursing part." One of the crew members said to Simon but received only a answer of silence.
"I don't know, " Simon replied moments later, "but if he forgot his past then maybe we can expect a little mercy like he told me to expect. I think he wasn't lying about that."
"We hope so, it was bad enough we let such a blunder happen but maybe if young master only saw us as his saviors then we could be left scot-free of charges."
...
" I agree. Let's go pray to the founder."
The founder they were refering to was one of their ancestors and the one who first created the cores, he had no face or identity left over the course of time but everyone liked to just call him by the title of 'founder'.
Almost everyone in the crew had a pendant in their necks, the founder's symbol which looked like five ring orbits around a spinning planet carved into it as one of most wide spread praying method.
The praying was silent and internal but the belief resonated with the crew and their own cores and showered them in a glitter of blue light like a lukewarm shawl.
For five minutes they just stood there, unmoving and uncaring, praying for the being they saw as their God. Only after the prayer was done did they come back to themselves to find the ship approaching the boundaries of the wild zone.
Meanwhile Ajax opened his mouth in awe, the sight of the desert fading from the window and his sight set upon the magnificence of the metal foundations and a sky reaching pillar surrounded by translucent walls.
There were hundreds of vehicles moving around in the air, most of them looking like plain metal boxes that appeared chiseled to show some sort of pipelines in their surface. Then there were the one without vehicles, badass and cool looking people with metal arms or other prosthetics flying on either a swarm of drones turned into a beast or a just a plain jetpack on their backs.
It was only now Ajax understood, he was in a much better place than a wild place with giant dragons of hordes of goblins like those of the fantasy world. "This is gonna be... Awesome!!"
Thinking to himself, Ajax could already see himself flying in the sky over a nanobot dragon with crossed legs and cloak. A dream forming in his heart before he deemed it no longer a dream but a goal.
"I am gonna become a technopath. The best one there is." He said to himself, making it his objective to be someone in the limelight no matter what efforts it took for him to do it.
However as soon as he said he felt his vision shake and shift in his right eye. A great pain entered into his eye almost as if someone had rubbed it with grains of dust in the inside.
"Grahh!! " He growled in pain, more angry than at mercy of the pain before he slowly opened his eyes. "The heck is this!"
The vision was different in his right eye, it was like the world was made of layers upon layers of green strings in a black void.
He felt unbalanced, stumbling and shaking as he pushed himself up to his feet as a voice reached out from the depths of his mind.
The voice was machine like and cold when it spoke, a unenthusiastic expression imaginable by the tone.
"a visitor at last.. Looks like that dimensional brick finally ramped up some fuel to find someone capable for once. 𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚. 𝙏𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙚."
