Chapter 4 - Survived

"𝙃𝙪𝙛𝙛 𝙃𝙪𝙛𝙛. The world. Engine?" Ajax said almost silently while Gasping for air. "What the heck is that?"

But despite his question no answer came back. Just one blink of his eyes and Ajax's vision was back to normal, however he refused to believe that a headache would come his way without any reason.

Begrudgingly he looked out once more, his earlier motivation and thrill now reduced to nothing more than the facade of a fleeting time, now completely gone.

"Why can't I just be happy for once?" Ajax sighed and saw the city's silhouette come to his vision.

The giant bubble like shield grew bigger in his sight. It was only after the ship had reached it did he realise the sheer size of it.

It was far bigger than anything in his old world. Ajax didn't knew what it is called but he could clearly observe thousands of flickering patterns on it, just like hexagons in a bee hive but much bigger in numbers yet compressed to less grain of dust in size.

He saw the vehicles forming in line in a gate near the ground and couldn't help but comment on it's design.

"Somethings never change i guess. But where is my ship going?"

The ship was heading straight for the wall with a high speed too. It was almost like as if he was in plane going for crash landing and felt his heart cave in at the realisation.

Yet just when he opened his mouth to say something, a hole popped up in the shield and his ship passed through as casually as it could.

...

"I should stop overthinking everything. Of course a rich kid will get special treatment in his own city...'I almost pissed my pants!' It would be easier to just sleep."

Ajax managed to maintain a poker face, but his legs were shaking like crazy underneath his seat. The guards however only saw the calm look on their young master's face and grew increasingly worried.

Simon looked at Ajax through the camera, his back drenched with sweat as he tried to put himself at ease with the situation he was dealing with right now.

"I can't believe he didn't even faze. Atleast he didn't mind the scare." He muttered after slow turn to his Crewmates.

In reality the engine of ship wasn't supposed to do that and they were actually supposed to go down to the gate. However the pilot fainted from overstressing himself and the ship was supposed to be crash.

"We should fire him! We all almost died!" One of the Crewmates snared at the unconscious pilot with a deadly glare.

"Let's roast him with our cores!" Chimmed another and brought out a flamethrower.

"Yeah!" X 7

"STOP IT! "

Simon's warning stopped the crew in their tracks, bringing them back to reality from the stupidity they were about to commit.

He had a stern expression, his eyes stuck on his own hands as he vibrates on his spot, almost shivering to death from fear.

They were moments from dying, however by a miracle not understable to him, the ever working walls stopped for just a moment, giving the ship the passage to squeeze in.

A realisation hit Simon, "Somebody go make sure the ship goes straight to the central Square with no stopping! I don't care what you want to say, either do it or jump out right now."

The emergency escape opened up, the vaccum of air sucking away many small things out alongside itself. The crew saw the sudden change as madness, a small yet subtle wariness forming in their heads.

"What are you try-" One of the Crewmates tried to say something, however Simon was no longer playing the games.

A wave of silence floodes in as the barrel of a Simon's shotgun was placed on his forehead, turning his face to despair.

"No. Games." Simon clearly showed his stance, slowly shoving blitzy lightly out of room and into the changing room with many closets.

The barrel's face moved from one person to another and Simon used it to put some distance between himself and his comrades. To him this was no longer side job Or a mission, instead now he saw his current threats as a warning to ensure his survival.

He glared at all of them ruthlessly, not a shred of pity in his eye anymore. "Which one of you is it?"

The Crewmates questioned Simon's leadership, doubting if he was still sane to lead them.

"Come on captain. What are you even talking about? It was all the pilot's fault."

"Right right. What else could it be? So would you mind putting your gun down captain? 𝙊𝙧 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙬𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪? "

The change in tone was followed by gruesome and terrifying transformation of flesh. One by one every one of the Crewmates became living abominations, turning into skinwalkers in front of Simon.

"... Hehehehe ahahahaha, no wonder I felt you bastards were too cheap to hire!!" Simon laments his foolishness.

There was not a imposter in the crew as he had thought, the entire crew of his was the imposter and he was the lone one.

The absurdity of the situation took it's burden on his sanity, yet there was no despair in Simon's eyes. Only a rampaging in insanity.

Bang

The shotgun fired without pause, blowing up the head of one of the skinwalkers while Simon turned and ran backward as he showered them with lead on his way out.

He laughs like a maniac, watching the skinwalkers lunge at him, "Try it you Bastards!! I am taking you fleshy trashes with me to Hell!!"

The slender limbs of his enemies turned to blades before Simon's very eyes, dozens of them plunged right through his chest in a instant, piercing straight through to come out the other side.

His blood flowed back, coming out of his mouth. Yet even as he felt his heart beat grow fainter under their menacing eyes, he smiled.

He raises his head at them, smiling as madly as could before raising his hand and-

"Ka-boom."

The core in Simon's chest explodes, Destroying the front side of the ship alongside himself and the skinwalkers. His former Crewmates didn't even have the time react before they were blown to flesh bits and scoring bits of trash.

Ajax felt the shockwave, the ship tilting within seconds before he had to time to process the situation. He thrown away to the other side of the lobby, crashing with thud.

Gasping for air, he tried to pull himself up to his feet, dozens of nonstop curses leaving his mouth as he failed to even realise what was happening.

At this moment, as if it was expected. A voice reached out to Ajax once again from straight within his mind.

"You really are the most unfortunate guy I have seen. I guess I will save your sorry self because I can't have you dying now atleast." The voice spoke with amusement yet his words were anything except despairing.

"Who are you!?! What do you want?! " Simon roared out, wanting to atleast clear away his doubts before dying.

However his vision once again turned to one of strings and black void, a sight of strings of the world stretching before his eyes as the world shifted he found himself moving through a wormhole of darkness at high speed.

The turbulence was crazy, immediately tearing away a portion of Ajax's clothes and some bits of his skin around his entire body, then he saw the strings appear again, this time throwing him out of the void.

He came crashing on the ground, the momentum of the transfer bouncing him like a skipping stone before he stopped after hitting a wall.

He slowly opened his eyes, finding himself just laying down on the floor with many bruises on his face. Looking around he found himself in a alley, a trail for knocked over trash cans filling the sight ahead of him.

"Argh!" He groaned in pain, "Just what I expected, I can't even catch a darned break for God's sake!! Argh! "

Ajax could feel a dislocated bone in his right shoulder, luckily his legs and arms were still fine. He slowly raised to his feet to walk out of the alley where the hovering vehicles moved on and the uncaring crowd grew anxious at the bloody sight of him.

"Look it's one of the beggars."

"Let's leave before he begans pestering us."

"True. Let's leave these insect to his fate and dip."

The crowd dispersed within seconds, the sight of tattered clothes and bloody bruises repelling them out of Ajax's sight. Not one of them tried to help Ajax, making him realise a truth.

"Heh. No wonder my past power of this body was hated... These bastards don't deserve pity. I have to-" He said to himself before being interrupted.

A loud sound of a explosion echoed across the district, followed by a shockwave of wind that gathered everyone's attention.

Ajax looked up, "Holy hell." He muttered at the sight of his former ship now crashed into one of the giant towers, it's rubble falling to the ground like a rain of fire as the everyone person began moving towards it.

It was only now did Ajax understand that staying on that ship would have caused his teeth for sure. The turbulence before wasn't a minor problem, it was beginning of a death sentence for those on board.

He found himself unable to speak, only able to focus at the himself and thanked the voice in his mind.

'Whoever you are. Thank you.'

"You are welcome kid."

...

Ajax was baffled, "you could answer me?! "

However the voice said no answer, only silence. Before a single message was tossed by it to Ajax's thoughts like a mental email or maybe telepathy.

"Survive kiddo. I will explain everything when you are atleast a technopath. "

"Wait! Who are you?! Tell me something atleast anything! ... Fine, I will become one." Ajax determined himself, there was only one way to move forward and he was going to tread it no matter what it took from him.

"I hope it's enjoyable atleast. I won't mind pain as long as it's filled with thrill."
