The next day, Yale stepped out of the courtyard. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a creature with snow-white fur and a calm aura like a husky. It was waving its tail from some distance away.
He froze in his tracks, and his body stiffened. Subconsciously, his hands balled tightly into fists as his eyes widened.
Snowy barked a couple of times toward Yale.
On the other end, Yale felt like his soul had just left his body. His mind was a complete blank.
Snowy began to bark more enthusiastically. Then, it straightened up its body and began to make its way over to Yale slowly.
"D-Don't come over," Yale stammered as he began to step back.
But for some reason, he made things worse by talking. As soon as Snowy heard him, it seemed to break out into a funny smile.
Snowy began to wag its tail vigorously.
Yale's face was becoming paler by the minute.
