Edward Stephens just drove back, returning late at night.
After Daisy Ginger coaxed Erin Ginger to sleep, she stayed awake and quickly went downstairs when she heard the door open.
The night wind was chilly, and the man, draped in a black coat, returned to the hall with the help of his assistant.
Seeing her come down from upstairs, he seemed a little surprised, raising his eyebrows slightly.
Daisy walked up, took the coat hanging on his arm, and asked, "Have you eaten?"
"Had a little wine."
He carried a faint smell of wine.
"I'll ask someone to make you a bowl of noodles."
The man agreed with a hum.
Daisy briefed the kitchen to make Edward some noodles quickly. When she returned, she saw him sitting on the sofa, his tall and lean form, and his handsome face showing traces of fatigue.
Daisy climbed onto the sofa, lifted her hand and gently massaged his temples, "What did you guys talk about today?"
"Some trivial matters."
"Like what?"
"Wanted me to bail him out."
