"Actually, no one asked you to do these things," Manuel Ink reminded her.
"I enjoy it," Summer Sutton responded matter-of-factly, not even looking at him.
Isn't this expected?
She stayed with the Ink Family; she couldn't just eat, live, and take such expensive medicine for free, right?
What's more, the Ink Family had no relation to her and owed her nothing.
She wanted to do it, and Manuel didn't insist on stopping her.
If she didn't do anything, she'd probably be quite bored in this house, wouldn't she?
Manuel Ink stared at her for a while and suddenly asked, "Do you want to go back?"
Summer Sutton fell into a brief silence after his question.
Manuel Ink thought she should want to.
Unexpectedly, after a long pause following his question, Summer Sutton shook her head, "It's nice here, grandpa is amusing, and everyone is great."
"Really?" Her words caught Manuel Ink noticeably by surprise.
Cautiously, he asked again, "Do you like it here?"
