Iris Harris was momentarily stunned and then remembered it was when Brandan Hyde came in earlier and lit a cigarette. She suddenly felt a chill all over her body and reluctantly said, "Did you smell it wrong? Maybe it's something you brought in with you."
Oliver Lee scratched his head and sniffed his own clothes, but found nothing.
Iris Harris pulled up the blanket, "Oliver, I'm going to sleep. You should go out first."
Oliver Lee made a sound of assent and then left.
Iris Harris sat on the bed, unable to stop herself from frowning.
She stood up and opened the window, letting some air into the room.
The smell of smoke gradually dissipated, yet seemed to linger around her, just like Brandan Hyde, haunting and ghostly.
Iris Harris stood by the window, watching the figures of Brandan and Oliver Lee from downstairs. Oliver was saying something to Brandan, looking full of respect, and Brandan's expression was indifferent, responding to him in a nonchalant manner.
