Alex Hawk's mind was racing with thoughts, but he didn't know what to say. All he could do was sit beside Brandan Hyde, waiting with him for the results.
Two hours later, the light in the operating room went out.
The first to come out was the chief surgeon.
The chief surgeon was a middle-aged woman wearing a mask. Alex Hawk was the first to stand up and asked, "Doctor, how is the person inside?"
"She's not in any life-threatening condition." The female doctor glanced at Alex Hawk, "She just lost too much blood, causing temporary hypovolemic shock. She's still in a coma, so wait until she wakes up to visit her."
Alex Hawk nodded blankly, watching as Iris Harris was wheeled out from inside. With her eyes closed, her face was pallid, almost lifeless.
Her wrist was wrapped in thick gauze, and there was an IV in her hand. She looked truly pitiful.
