Chapter 3 - chapter 1

It was a bright new day .

Laura just woke up from bed.

She stood up and yawned raising her hands in air in the process.

" Good morning Universe!" She said as she moved to unravel the blinds shedding her window.

As she did she remarked that the sun was already up in the sky not too high, just where it should in the morning, and yet it felt weird as if she was forgetting something.

So she concentrated desperately trying to remember what she might have forgotten and then it clicked.

She realized the problem instantly, then panicking proceeded to look at the time, and her worries were confirmed cause It was showed precisely 7:34.

Laura sighed dejected, she checked her memories and realized that she had completely forgotten to set an alarm for the day.

Thinking about the stress she will have to go through because of this , she let out another sigh.

' What's done is done. ' she thought before storming out of the room. She rushed towards the bathroom, rushingly brushing her teeth and taking a bath, she then proceeded to change her clothes and ran down the stairs.

" Good morning Mom! Good Bye Mom ! " She said to a woman as she passed the open kitchen door.

" Good morning Dad! Good Bye Dad! " She said to man as she went outside.

Laura continued to run as fast as she could doing her best to dodge her fellow New York citizens as she did.

Eventually she arrived at the bus stop exhausted.

Her plan had always been for her to wake up at about 6AM and prepare herself for all possible questions she could receive, not wanting to mess up in any way. But now all she could do was prepare in the bus, and that's what she did.

Once in the bus she went through all the possible questions she could be asked, it took her about 10 minutes but she had recalled every single question she had ever seen a interviewer ask , separated them into the once she was likely to be asked and then finally prepared a reply for all of them , then a few minutes later forgot everything but that was not a problem.

' It's a beautiful Saturday in New York, what could go wrong ' she thought trying comfort herself.

' I mean it's only your first ever interview no need to be stressed. ' she thought once more, failing her task miserably, and now she was even more stressed than before.

" Damnation" she muttered making sure no one could hear.

About 90 minutes later the bus had arrived at he destination it was a regular one story building on the middle of this neighborhood nothing special nothing different.

Laura nervously walked forward till she eventually reached the door, she stood there for a while gathering her courage to press the bell and after a short while she did.

-DIN DING - it rang alerting a young girl inside.

And after about a minute said young girl opened the door .

" Your finally here! " She said enthusiast , holding her self back from screaming of joy .

" Welcome! Welcome! Come in " said the lady guilding her in.

***

Laura currently sat in what seemed to be a living room still extremely nervous by the situation.

The young lady who lived in the house brought snacks placed them on the table and sat on the chair which was directly opposite to her.

" Good morning, miss Laura" said the lady using her phone to record the conversation.

" Good morning" she replied gathering her courage

" So miss Laura how does it feel like being the first person in history to have won The Empire scholar challenges 4 times in a row ? "

" Really lucky I guess, I am indeed happy for myself and I know how great of an achievement this is but sometimes it feels like I cheated." she replied confidently without any hint of shyness, it was only normal she had practiced this reply multiple times in her head even though she may have forgotten it all she had to do was remember.

" Because of your ability, I heard you have Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory, and that it gives you a nearly perfect memory, with that kind of ability I can understand why you would think your cheating." Said the lady.

" That is mostly correct or mostly wrong." Laura replied

" Why is that ? " Asked the lady

" Well the disorder I have isn't Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory, it's Mnemonic Access Syndrome, and no it doesn't give me a perfect memory, I actually forget a lot, for example Yesterday I forgot to set an alarm for this morning, which resulted in me having to come hear without having breakfast." She replied a bit humiliated by her answer.

" I see so what does your disorder do then ? "

" Well it permits me to recall any thing I have ever experienced with perfect accuracy, there are no such things as inconsistencies in my memories, though I tend to forget things more than the average person. " She replied.

" Ah I see, that is problematic, but if you forget something can't you just remember? "

" Yes but to remember I have to first of all realize what I forgot, which sometimes is not an easy task. " She replied

" I see, so things like test don't hinder you at all since you can always recall what ever you were told in class or ever read? "

" Correct. "

" With an ability like that why do you even bother to go to school?"

" Well I can't really get a job without a diploma and skipping grades doesn't seem fun, so I think I will just go to school the normal way. "

" Well that's enough for your academic life please tell us more about your social life. "

" Sure what exactly would you like to know?" Laura asked picking up a snack to satiate her hunger.

The interview continued the same way for the next few hours the journalist asked Laura questions on almost every thing in her life and forgetting about maintaining her privacy she disclosed it all.

" One last question Miss Laura." She said. Making Laura extremely happy.

' Finally this is over ' she thought to herself.

" What do you think of anime ? " The lady asked.

" Pardon ? " Laura replied confused.

" What do you think of anime ? "

Laura blinked multiple times this was a question she had not prepared for or rather not expected she had never seen a journalist ask someone this question before so how could she have in the first place?

" Miss Laura you know what anime is right? "

" Yes the animated Japanese shows , well personally I find them amazing the stories are so captivating and I really like the morals, I really love to see shows like that which relate to the culture of the area , my favorite genres are fantasy and shojou, but I really enjoy shonen to my favorite anime currently is Re ... " She continued talking for a long while describing in detail her love for anime making the journalist slightly regret asking that question in the first place and after a few hours she was done .

" That was very... interesting I myself am a fan, my favorite is Class room of the Elite and..." The journalist began saying before she realized Laura had began frowning.

" What ? " The journalist thought wondering if she had done something wrong .

" Nothing. " She replied still frowning

" Are you sure ? " She asked in a worried tone

" Yeah I am sure , it's just I can't get what you people find in classroom of the Elite." She her frown growing.

" What ?! " The journalist yelled in shock "It's a great show , with amazing characters the main character especially is... "

" He is the reason I hate the show. " She replied coldly interrupting the journalist

" But he great and... " She tried defend her favorite show but was interrupted once more.

" People are not tools that should be maniputed! " She declared boldly in rage.

"..." The journalist said nothing, she really had nothing to say , how I wish I was at her place I would have shut Laura's damn mouth Classroom of the Elite is peak , Absolute cinema, one of the greatest work of fiction to be ever written, who those she think she is! Well back to the story.

" I believe we are done here ma'am" she said standing up to leave.

The journalist watch her leave with a shocked expression before retaining her composure.

" So biased. " She muttered in dismay .

" I heard that. " Yelled Laura from outside.

She then proceeded to move to the bus stop and return home. She may not have known but tomorrow was going to be a long day.
