Chapter 249 - Chapter 249: Totally Unreasonable

Tyron gave a polite smile and warmly shook Leo's hand.

"Hello, Director Leo."

Seeing this, his assistant silently stepped back. In most cases, Tyron's assistant was his most trusted aide—fully capable of handling negotiations. But not this time. Only Tyron could make this call.

Leo's expression was serious as he got straight to the point.

"Mr. Tyron, I'm truly sorry, but we'd like to discuss making a change to tonight's show schedule."

"I believe you've already seen the calling card. Kaitō Kid has publicly announced he'll show up at your concert."

Right now, Kaitō Kid's popularity might even exceed Tyron's.

And in every news report covering the tour today, his name came up.

Even if Tyron hadn't wanted to see it—he couldn't have avoided it.

Of course, the current buzz around the concert? More than half of it came from Kaitō Kid's appearance.

So Tyron didn't see him as a threat or hazard. He knew Kaitō Kid had never hurt anyone during a heist. Quite the opposite—Kaitō Kid's presence was exactly what had taken his concert hype to the next level.

He was genuinely curious just how wild the scene would get when Kaitō Kid actually showed up.

But before Tyron could say anything, Leo quickly added more reasons.

"Even the slightest risk is one we can't afford to take."

"Mr. Tyron, we are fully invested in your concert's security. If Kaitō Kid appears, it could cause total chaos."

"That chaos could pose a serious danger to your safety. To be cautious, I suggest we make a temporary adjustment to the performance schedule."

After listening, Tyron shrugged and gave a faint smirk.

"No, Director Leo, thank you for your concern."

"But I really don't think there's any danger. In fact, everyone seems to be hoping Kaitō Kid shows up during my show."

"Haven't you seen the comments? People are clearly excited at the possibility!"

Leo was caught off guard, unable to respond.

Of course he had seen those comments. But those people were just there for the spectacle.

The bigger the mess, the more thrilled they were.

And if things actually went south, they'd be the first to mock and ridicule.

Leo would end up the one left holding the bag.

They didn't share the same priorities. From Leo's perspective, those comments meant nothing.

"No, Mr. Tyron, what we're focused on right now is your safety—and the safety of everyone at the concert. Not the desires of a few hyped-up fans."

"I've already deployed heavy security around Botan Square. But Kaitō Kid's abilities are probably far beyond what you're imagining. If things spiral out of control at the venue, we won't be able to contain it."

Leo tried to reason with Tyron, hoping he would consider things from a security standpoint.

But from the way Tyron spoke earlier, it was clear he was even more excited about tonight's concert than he'd been before Kaitō Kid announced he would appear.

"Director Leo, first of all, I trust you. I trust BND."

"Second, maybe instead of worrying about me, you should worry about your own situation first."

As he said that, Tyron pulled out his phone and opened a live stream.

The footage showed the concert venue, live on-screen.

And floating across the screen in the comment feed were a flood of messages…

Most of them asking where Leo and Holmeska were.

[What's going on? Where did Leo and Holmeska go? They just vanished!]

[There's no way they're slacking off right now. They must be dealing with something urgent!]

[Oh my god! What could be more important than the current security setup?]

[Hahaha, easy—if Tyron agrees to reschedule the concert, the problem gets solved at its root!]

[WTF? Can't solve the problem, so solve the person causing it?]

Comments kept flying across the livestream, many laced with sarcasm. Leo's expression in that moment was… a masterpiece.

Tyron, seeing he had made his point, calmly put away his phone.

"Director Leo, if we actually change the concert time, how do you think people will see that?"

To be honest, changing the schedule wouldn't really affect Tyron that much. He could just throw BND and Leo under the bus. Blame it all on the authorities. No one could fault him for that.

But Tyron didn't want to change the schedule. And if anyone would take the hit, it'd be Leo.

Right now, Tyron was actually thinking of Leo—he didn't want him to be branded a coward who backed down from pressure.

"Mr. Tyron, if you alter your concert plans, that's exactly what they want to see happen!"

"It won't actually make you safer. I hope you'll think this through carefully."

Tyron had already given Leo more face than most would. He still hadn't outright refused.

But seeing Leo still pressing the issue, Tyron had no choice but to give a clear answer.

"Director Leo, thank you for your concern. But I don't want to disappoint my fans."

"And I definitely don't want my decision to damage your reputation either."

Leo looked at Tyron's relaxed smile and knew there was no convincing him. He sighed and stepped aside.

The other agents followed his lead, making way for Tyron, his assistant, and a few staffers to leave.

Once they were in the car and gone, Leo immediately issued an order.

"Follow them. Make sure he stays safe!"

"Unreasonable guy…"

Of course Leo was upset. If Tyron had agreed to reschedule, it would've saved him from a mountain of problems.

But now, no matter how tough it got, Leo had no choice but to face it head-on.

After that, Leo and Holmeska returned to the venue to continue strengthening the security setup, checking every detail.

By 5:00 PM, the sun was setting. The venue was already fully in place.

Crowds swarmed Botan Square. At this point, Leo felt completely numb.

Tyron's concert was free. Anyone could walk in and enjoy the show.

Which meant the headcount was absolutely insane.

[Holy crap, look at all those people. The whole square is just packed heads!]

[I'm speechless. With this many people, even if Kaitō Kid shows up, there's no way anyone will spot him!]

[Tsk tsk. Maybe let's worry about how he'll even get in. You can't move in that crowd!]

[Shit! This is straight-up ridiculous!]

[Oh my god! If Tyron pulled in this many people, Kaitō Kid deserves half the credit!]

The scene brought joy to some, anxiety to others.

Every party involved had their own share of headaches.
