Chapter 233 - Your friend!?
Fuku General Hospital.
It was the largest public hospital located near Hagun Academy, and it was also the place where Ayase's father had been confined for the past two years.
After leaving the dojo, Ayase couldn't wait to bring Roy to the hospital to tell her father the news.
As for the dojo itself, after two years of neglect, it was in a state of disrepair. It looked dilapidated, and many structural areas were damaged.
Before it could be reopened, craftsmen would need to be hired to renovate the entire property. This was not a simple project; it would take significant manpower, resources, and time to complete.
However, Ayase wasn't in a hurry. For the time being, she simply had the thugs from Donrou Academy clean up the immediate filth before letting them go.
The dojo had returned to her hands, and there would be no resistance to her future plans.
With an excitement and joy she hadn't felt in two years, Ayase skillfully led Roy to Ward 515.
This was a private room where Kaito Ayatsuji resided.
Surprisingly, there was another person in the ward besides the comatose Kaito. It was a gorgeously dressed woman who looked like she came from a wealthy family.
If one looked closely, they would notice that her features were somewhat similar to Ayase's.
"Aunt Suzuka, you're here to see Dad again," Ayase greeted with a familiar smile.
"I didn't have anything to do today, so I came to check on brother," the woman said, nodding with a smile. She then curiously set her eyes on Roy, who was standing beside Ayase. "And Ayase, who is this person?"
As she asked, the smile on the woman's face became a little ambiguous, her gaze darting back and forth between Roy and her niece.
"This is my friend, Roy," Ayase said, suddenly feeling blood rush to her face under her aunt's teasing gaze.
She lowered her head and introduced him in a low voice.
"So, just friends?"
Seeing Ayase's reaction, the woman smiled even more knowingly.
Her eyes practically screamed 'I understand,' as she said with a smirk, "This is the first time Ayase has brought a boy here. It seems this friend is very special to you, Ayase."
Hearing this, Ayase said nothing. She lowered her head even further, looking as if she wanted to bury her face in her chest.
"Hi, I'm Ayase's aunt, Suzuka Ayatsuji."
The woman stopped teasing her niece and looked at Roy, offering a gentle smile. "If you don't mind, you can just call me Auntie, just like Ayase does."
Roy introduced himself with a smile and politely called her Auntie, which immediately made Ayase's face burn even hotter.
Even though the room temperature was comfortable, Roy could practically see steam rising from the girl's head.
"Brother, your daughter and her friend are here to see you," Suzuka whispered, bending over the hospital bed.
Kaito's cheeks were sunken and his arms were withered and thin, resembling dead branches in winter.
Even though he was once a top swordsman in Japan, lying in a hospital bed for two years while comatose had reduced him to a shadow of his former self.
"This is the first time your daughter has brought a boy here. I can see that he occupies a very important place in Ayase's heart. If all goes well, maybe this time next year they can hold their wedding banquet. You can't give your blessing if you don't wake up soon."
Suzuka glanced at Roy and Ayase quietly, then continued to whisper to the unconscious man.
"Your sister isn't worthy enough to officiate the wedding for them. You want to see Ayase get married and have children, don't you? It would be a tragedy if you missed their wedding just because you were sleeping."
Suzuka whispered many words into Kaito's ear before sighing and straightening up.
She turned to Roy and Ayase with a smile. "I won't bother you two. I'll take a break at the coffee shop outside first..."
"By the way, Auntie," Ayase interrupted, "we got the dojo back."
"Huh?"
Hearing this news, Suzuka showed a look of incomparable surprise. She knew how hard Ayase had tried to regain the dojo after it was stolen.
However, the opponent was a powerful Blazer, which had led to Ayase being frustrated repeatedly. Suzuka had assumed the dojo was lost forever.
"It was Roy who helped me take it back," Ayase explained. "He defeated the Sword Eater from Donrou Academy."
"Roy?"
Suzuka looked at Roy in disbelief. She never thought this boy could defeat that vicious sword eater. After all, even her brother had been beaten into a coma by him.
Suzuka hurriedly bowed to Roy to thank him, knowing in her heart how great a kindness he had done for their family.
"Ayase is my friend, and it is my duty to help her," Roy said humbly.
Suzuka smiled, looking at Ayase with relief, and then turned back to Kaito. "Brother, it seems that what I just said wasn't just a guess. It might actually come true."
Kaito, lying on the hospital bed, twitched slightly. His withered lips seemed to tremble, moving weakly.
"Still the same..."
Seeing this action, Suzuka and Ayase didn't show much joy. In the past two years, Kaito had often made instinctive movements. Even in a vegetative state, vital signs existed, and muscles could still reflexively respond.
"If you don't mind," Roy said, looking at the two women, "you can try my medicine. Maybe it can wake Uncle up."
