Brandon's POV
I was halfway through emptying my wardrobe when the door opened behind me.
Shirts lay scattered across the bed. A duffel bag sat open on the floor with clothes stuffed into it haphazardly. My guitar case leaned against the wall, and a stack of old notebooks had been pushed onto the desk.
I wasn't packing to leave.
I didn't even know what I was packing for.
I just needed something to do with my hands.
Something that didn't involve thinking.
Something that didn't involve replaying the last few days over and over until my head split open.
I folded another shirt without really seeing it.
Then I heard the door click shut.
I didn't turn immediately.
I already knew who it was.
Seth.
His footsteps stopped a few feet behind me.
Silence settled between us.
Heavy.
Uncomfortable.
Then his voice came.
"Did you snoop through my phone?"
The question came direct.
No greeting.
No hesitation.
I turned slowly.
