Chapter 677 - Chapter 537.1

On the balcony above the hall, three hooded figures watched the scene unfold.

Captain Acco Acheeth leaned forward, her golden-tawny cheetah form pressed against the stone railing. Her dark eyes narrowed as she tracked the newcomers' movements, her tail lashing with barely contained tension.

General Nyx Parn stood beside her, his massive black panther frame radiating coiled power. His dark eyes were fixed on the group below, his expression unreadable.

Major Hagan Fawn completed the trio, his towering Afghan Hound form draped in cream and gold. His warm hazel eyes were soft with concern, his aristocratic features betraying none of the anxiety that churned beneath the surface.

Lieutenant Corin Rain rushed up beside them, his breath coming in ragged gasps. He pointed at the group below, his words tumbling out in a rush. "They are—um—they—"

Acco snapped, her voice sharp and impatient. "Yes, we can see they are here. Is this all of them?"

Corin shook his head, his dark eyes wide with uncertainty. "I don't know. I only saw—"

Hagan's voice was calm, measured, his ability to think in contingencies surfacing. "Maybe you should go and find out." He gestured toward the harbor, his long cream-and-gold mane shifting with the movement. "They must have gotten here somehow. Go check the dock."

Corin blinked, his expression shifting to one of confused acknowledgment. "Right. Yes. The dock." He rushed off, his footsteps echoing in the corridor behind him.

A low growl emanated from Nyx's chest as he watched Amos Baboto descend into the crowd. His dark eyes were fixed on the prophet, his jaw tight with barely contained fury.

Acco and Hagan returned their attention to the scene below. Acco's eyes narrowed on Atlas, her cheetah instincts tracking the rust-red Mink with predatory focus. "There is a Mink with them."

Nyx's voice was flat, emotionless. "Yes."

The three of them exchanged a look—a silent conversation that carried the weight of centuries.

Nyx's voice dropped to a murmur. "It has been eight hundred years since the tribes were united."

Hagan's brow furrowed. "Does he know that?"

Acco's voice was sharp. "I think he doesn't?"

Hagan groaned, his hand coming up to massage his temple. "He appears to be lost."

Acco raised a brow, her focus shifting to Atlas as she studied his movements. "I wonder what he does know, though." Her voice carried a note of calculation. "He has seen the world while we have been here on the island."

Nyx smirked, his dark eyes gleaming with something that might have been approval. "Good point."

---

Below them, Vesta struck the strings of Mikasi.

The chord echoed through the hall, resonant and raw, a sound that vibrated in the very stones of the building. The Minks recoiled, their hands flying to their ears, their faces twisted in pain.

Vesta stood on the dais, her expression one of pure, unfiltered delight. She looked to Aurélie, Roan, Atlas, and Bō-Zak, her voice carrying the enthusiasm of a child who had just discovered a new toy. "This place is amazing! Did you hear that? The acoustics are—"

Amos Baboto's voice cut through her excitement like a blade. "What do you think you are doing?"

Vesta beamed, her rainbow hair shimmering. "I am loving these acoustics!" She lifted her arm to strike the strings again, her fingers poised to—

Atlas appeared beside her, his hand gripping her wrist. His voice was low, urgent, with warning that cut through her enthusiasm. "Read the room, song bird." Vesta paused, her bright violet eyes scanning the recoiling Minks. Atlas leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Low profile. Remember?"

Her expression shifted from excitement to nervous realization. "Oh yeah. I kind of forgot." Vesta smiled nervously, her shoulders sagging with sudden embarrassment. "Right. Low profile. Got it."

Below them, Bō-Zak buckled over, his laughter echoing through the hall. He slapped his knee, his gold-flecked eyes dancing with amusement. "Oh, this is—this is priceless—"

Amos Baboto rounded on the group, his dark eyes blazing with fury. He opened his mouth to speak, his arm rising to deliver a grand gesture of condemnation—

A blade pressed against his throat.

Aurélie's steel-gray eyes met his, her expression flat and challenging. Her voice was cold, and challenging. "That would not be wise."

Amos Baboto swallowed hard, his dark eyes fixed on the blade. His voice was strained, barely above a whisper. "You think this is the best way to introduce yourself?"

Roan stepped forward, his raccoon features twisted with nervous explanation. "My apologies. I am the one who brought them here." He gestured between the group and Amos, his striped tail lashing with anxiety. "I thought you might be able to answer their questions, sir, since you are so well connected, you see."

Amos lifted a brow, his dark eyes shifting to Roan. His expression was unreadable, his voice cold. "You brought—"

Three figures surrounded them.

Acco Acheeth materialized on Aurélie's left, her cheetah form radiating coiled energy, her dark eyes fixed on the silver-haired warrior. Nyx Parn appeared on Bō-Zak's right, his massive black panther frame casting a long shadow across the stone floor. Hagan Fawn completed the triangle, his towering Afghan Hound form positioned behind the group, his warm hazel eyes soft but unyielding.

Amos Baboto gritted his teeth, his voice a low growl. "General."

Aurélie's eyes shifted, her gaze flicking between the newcomers. Her hand remained on her blade, her posture coiled and ready. Bō-Zak's hand moved toward his weapons, his gold-flecked eyes sharp with sudden focus.

The air crackled with tension. Atlas's fingers tingled with Electro, his rust-red fur bristling as he prepared for a confrontation. Vesta adjusted her pose, Mikasi humming in her hands, her bright violet eyes wide with uncertainty.

Acco raised her hands, with calm authority. "We don't want any trouble." Her head swiveled between Aurélie, Vesta, Atlas, and Bō-Zak, her dark eyes tracking their movements with the intensity of a predator assessing its prey. "Allow me to introduce ourselves."

She gestured to herself, with professional pride. "I am Acco Acheeth, Captain of the Ginmin King's Guard." She gestured to her companions, her tail flicking with emphasis. "This is General Nyx Parn and Major Hagan Fawn."

She paused, her dark eyes meeting Aurélie's steel-gray gaze. "We would like to invite you to the palace to meet with the Hoshimin. Our ruler."

Aurélie's eyes narrowed, her voice flat and cold. "We do not want trouble. We are simply looking for—"

Nyx cut her off, with a growl of absolute authority. "Then allow us to help you find it so you can be on your way."

Aurélie raised a brow, her expression unreadable. Her eyes slid to Atlas, searching for guidance. Atlas nodded once, his expression resigned. Aurélie's lips pressed together as she considered. Then she sheathed her blade, her voice flat and final. "Very well."

Atlas glanced to Vesta, his hand still gripping her wrist. "Come on, song bird. Looks like this venue is closed."

Vesta whined, her bright violet eyes pleading. "Oh, but the acoustics—"

Atlas gripped her arm, pulling her from the dais. "We'll find another hall. Come on."

---

The group turned to leave.

Amos Baboto's voice echoed through the hall, attempting to correct the slight in front of his followers. "This is blasphemous! You cannot just—"

Hagan Fawn turned, his towering Afghan Hound form positioning itself nose to nose with the prophet. His warm hazel eyes were cold, with quiet challenge. "I cannot what, Amos?"

Amos's dark eyes narrowed, his jaw tight with barely contained fury. His voice was a low growl, with a threat. "King Volt Ostara will regret this day. It has been spoken."

Hagan smirked, his expression one of quiet confidence. "That may be true." His voice dropped, with final warning. "But you are staying here. Do not test me."

He flipped his long cream-and-gold mane with theatrical elegance, then spun on his heel and walked away.

Amos Baboto gritted his teeth, his dark eyes fixed on the departing group. His hands clenched at his sides, his knuckles white with fury.

Then he turned, his voice rising to address his followers once more. "MY FRIENDS! DO NOT LET THE INTERRUPTION DISTRACT YOU FROM THE TRUTH! THE PROPHECY STANDS! THE DAWN IS AT HAND—"

His words echoed through the hall, but the crowd was already dispersing, their attention drawn to the strange newcomers and their royal escorts.

And somewhere in the distance, the wind carried the whisper of a new dawn.
