Chapter 152 - Chapter 151: Wake Up

"Uncle, what are you two talking about?"

After finally getting rid of the girl who had been trying to chat them up, Zuko turned around and saw Iroh speaking with the young man who had been staring at them earlier.

He immediately felt a headache coming on, completely helpless.

Left with no choice, Zuko walked over and covered for Iroh, saying:

"Uncle, you still have a lot of work to do, don't you? How can you be here chatting with guests and slacking off?"

"No need to be so careful, Zuko. This—uh, I don't think I know your name?"

As Iroh spoke, he suddenly realized he didn't even know Kahn's name. He felt a little embarrassed.

"My name is Kahn."

Once Kahn replied, Iroh scratched the back of his head and casually introduced him to Zuko:

"That's right, Kahn. He might be the child of an old acquaintance of mine."

"But you don't even know his name."

Zuko was speechless, staring at Kahn with suspicion as if wondering what kind of spell he had cast on Uncle Iroh.

"I can't prove my identity right now," Kahn said calmly, "but I'm willing to exchange information for a chance to talk."

He smiled with interest.

"For example, Azula's current whereabouts. How about that?"

"What?!"

Zuko never expected to hear his mother's name—Azula—in such a casual setting. His pupils shrank, and he leaned forward anxiously:

"You know where my mother is now?!"

"Cough, cough!"

Hearing Zuko loudly shout "Mother," Iroh quickly coughed to cover it up, reminding Zuko to keep his composure.

Kahn smiled faintly.

"Let's talk somewhere quieter. You want to discuss these things here?"

"...I'll go with you."

Zuko's voice deepened.

"But if you dare to fool me, I will make you pay."

"Yes, yes," Kahn said lazily, standing up.

Just as they were about to leave, Iroh suddenly said.

"Wait, let me ask my boss for leave first."

After Iroh and Zuko finished speaking to their boss, Kahn followed them back to their small residence in Yonglu City.

They hadn't been here long, and with little money, they naturally lived in the lower districts.

"She should still be in Hira Town in the Fire Nation—her birthplace. And next to Hira Town, there's a famous place called Worryless Valley, where…"

Kahn didn't wait for any exchange. Once they arrived home, he directly spilled everything he knew about Azula.

Even though this was a parallel world, her general whereabouts shouldn't change.

And with how detailed Kahn's explanation was, Iroh and Zuko were already eighty percent convinced.

"She's really been through a lot," Iroh sighed, genuinely moved by Ursa's turbulent fate.

Zuko's heart was in turmoil. He had always wanted to find his mother, but the Ursa Kahn described had now found her own peace. Should he really go and disturb that?

Kahn continued.

"In short, if you want Ursa to regain her memory, you must find the Mother of Faces. And to find her quickly, I suggest you ask Avatar for help."

Kahn knew the truth: the only beings capable of communicating with spirits were himself, Guru Pathik, Iroh, and the Avatar.

Iroh's Spiritbending was incomplete, Pathik avoided worldly affairs, and Kahn didn't know when he might return to his original world.

So Aang—capable, kind, and respected among spirits—was naturally the best choice.

"Avatar…"

The moment Avatar Aang was mentioned, Zuko's brows furrowed deeply.

Iroh sighed and explained.

"Zuko once pursued Avatar for a time, and there were… conflicts. But I think he's had a change of heart now."

Pursued Avatar?

A "change of heart"?

Looking at Zuko's expression, Kahn could tell that "realization" wasn't very thorough.

Kahn mocked him mercilessly.

"You actually listened to Ozai and went to capture Avatar? That's too foolish!"

"I can at least understand Azula trying to capture Avatar—she wants to conquer the world. But what do you gain by capturing Avatar? Did he stop you from conquering the world?"

"What do you know?!"

Zuko barked back, angry at Kahn's dismissive tone.

"Capturing Avatar is my mission! Only by capturing Avatar will Father revoke my punishment, and only then can I return to the Fire Nation!"

Is this what you call realization?

Kahn side-eyed Iroh.

Iroh scratched his head awkwardly under the stare and tried to smooth things over:

"But that was before. We've already given up the mission and are wanted by the Fire Nation, which is why we came to Yonglu City to start anew."

Given up the mission?

Probably not.

Looking at Zuko now, he still clearly carried that obsession.

In Kahn's original world, Zuko's ideals were actually the same as Aang's: restore balance and maintain peace. They were natural allies.

But here, Zuko was still fixated on capturing Avatar. Clearly, Ozai's manipulation had sunk even deeper in this universe.

Still, Zuko was living incognito with Iroh in Yonglu City. There was hope.

"Heh."

After a short pause, Kahn sneered coldly.

"Capturing Avatar is your mission?"

"Then let me ask you: Who usurped Uncle Iroh's rightful place? Who burned your face? Who separated you from your mother? Who caused your downfall? Who is responsible for everything you and your uncle have suffered?"

His voice sharpened.

"Do you really not know? Hmph—of course you do."

"And yet, knowing the real culprit perfectly well—you're telling me your mission is to capture Avatar?"

"Do you even know what you're doing?!"

Zuko's face grew paler with each word, because every sentence was undeniably true.

With Kahn's final reprimand, Zuko stumbled back two steps.

"I—I…"

He clutched his head, completely lost.

Kahn's words pierced through him like needles, painful but breaking through something deep inside.

"Then what should I do?" Zuko asked quietly.

Kahn didn't answer directly.

"Do you really not know? You're just afraid to face it."

He stood up and said:

"I wanted to have a good talk, but we can only stop here today. Think about what you should do. I hope you can give me an answer next time we meet."

"I'll see you out," Iroh said, standing and escorting Kahn to the door.

He bowed slightly, speaking with sincere gratitude.

"Thank you for what you said to Zuko. I believe that after this, he'll understand."

Although he still didn't know why Kahn knew so many secrets, he already knew one thing for certain:

Kahn was not a bad person.

"You're welcome," Kahn replied with a grin.

"But honestly, Uncle Iroh—you're too soft on him. You already know all these truths. If you had scolded him like I just did, he would've woken up long ago."

"Ah… haha…"

Iroh scratched his head sheepishly. He couldn't refute it.

Oddly enough, when this child pointed out his flaws, he felt strangely… chastised. As if a child of his own had scolded him.

It was a very peculiar feeling.
