As she rummaged through the wardrobe, Selina gathered her clothes into her arms.
"Did he just say he can't stand being apart from me?" she mumbled, finding his words for the day unbelievable. "He even bought the house in our names and still wants a one-year chance. A chance for what? To fix things… or to carry out his plans?"
The more she tried to understand Zane lately, the more she found herself on edge—confused, yet curious. Her chest rose and fell with exasperation, her face flushed.
If she moved out, there was no doubt he would follow her anywhere. Feeling utterly helpless, Selina shoved the clothes back into the cupboard with a frustrated sigh. She marched to her bed and collapsed onto it, her body bouncing slightly against the soft mattress.
Selina fished out her phone from her pocket. Her fingers flew across the keyboard, firing off a quick text to Annabelle.
[Anna, can we meet? I have a lot on my mind right now. I might lose it anytime.]
