Celeste tilted her head. "I just came to check on you. I heard there was trouble in the dorm and…" her eyes softened, "…I wanted to make sure you were alright."
Zane blinked at her. Then shrugged. "Cool. Don't really care."
Celeste: "…Huh?"
Zane waved his hand lazily. "The only reason I dragged you in here is because I had an idea. A team idea."
Mira stopped spinning her dagger. "A team?"
Zane leaned against the wall, expression flat but voice carrying that dangerous glimmer of mischief.
"I want us to escape the academy for the night. Because I'm bored. And the catch—" his lips curved into the faintest smirk, "—we must not get caught."
The room went still.
Celeste blinked. "Wait… what?"
"I just thought it'd look better if there were five of us instead of four," Zane continued, ignoring her. "I've got a few things I want to do. And I'm pretty sure you guys would love a trip into town. Sooo…" He clapped his hands together. "Here's the plan."
