Silently, she added a mental tally—Black Bean was so getting payback later. She'd treated her to roasted chicken last night, and she sold her out without hesitation!
"What time did you go to bed last night?" she pressed. Something told her that her mom's anger wasn't just because she hadn't come home—it was also Black Bean's fault.
"I didn't sleep!"
Knew it…
Her mother shot Ning Chu a look. "I told you to make sure she was in bed by ten. And yet, when I came home this morning, she was still playing on her tablet."
"So Mom's mad because you didn't go to bed last night."
"Cats are supposed to be up at night!" Black Bean retorted righteously.
Ning Chu curled her lips, then hesitated before glancing at her mother. "Mom, Wen Yang's coming over for dinner tonight."
Originally, she'd planned to tidy up her rental place and come home in the evening. But her body still felt weak, and Wen Yang wouldn't let her do any work. She couldn't stand staying in that messy, indulgent scene for another second, so she came home early.
Her mother gave a small, expressionless nod.
Relieved, Ning Chu quickly finished a small bowl of rice, let out a satisfied burp, and put her dishes in the kitchen before hurrying back to the guest room.
Now she understood why succubi, despite being so sensitive, still had such terrifying stamina.
