"Well, didn't Mommy tell you last time?" Lauren said, her voice a little too bright. "He really is your daddy." Honestly, she hadn't planned on keeping it a secret forever.
The original idea was to wait until he turned eighteen, but… yeah. That timeline just got fast-forwarded, big time.
"Why did Daddy just come down from the sky now?" Liam asked, twisting in his seat to stare right at Jonathan.
Jonathan nearly choked. He shot a death glare at Lauren over their son's head.
Lauren's face flushed. Oh, right. She'd once told her son his daddy was "up in the sky."
Awesome.
"Daddy didn't know about Liam before," Jonathan answered, his voice surprisingly level as he looked at the boy. "But now that he does, he'll be spending more time with you from now on."
It was so weird. Jonathan Quintero was usually a stone-cold statue, completely unshakeable.
