Chapter 114 - Chapter 111 - Battle of Kyoto (II)

(Bonus Chapter!)

*********************

The silence that followed the disappearance of the colossus was short-lived.

In the sky, the other Super Demons roared in unison, like trapped beasts facing something they couldn't comprehend. The atmosphere wavered, the scarlet clouds boiling like blood in a frenzy. The very space seemed to resist their existence.

Kazuya, still holding Yasaka, closed his eyes for a moment. His voice was low, far too calm for someone standing before monsters capable of destroying entire worlds:

"…Balance Breaker - A Thought to Create Universes."

And then, the mist emerged.

A purple veil began to spread from his feet, crawling over the shattered stones of Urakyoto like a living poison. In seconds, it wasn't just the city— the entirety of Japan was enveloped in that thick curtain. The human world, the underworld, the heavens, the youkai dimensions… nothing escaped.

He pushed his [Dimension Lost] to its absolute limit. In the next instant, his [Balance Breaker] manifested in all its terrifying glory: the universe was split in two. With a surge of energy, all of humanity was torn from the normal flow of existence and sealed within a vast [Pocket Dimension], where time stood still and no harm could reach them. His enemies, on the other hand, were dragged into another [Pocket Dimension], crafted solely for war!

Though he had the power to do this from the start, he deliberately delayed. There were two reasons for this. The first was simple: if he had hidden humanity earlier, Rizevim would never have proceeded with his offensive. And without the attack, there would have been no opportunity to draw him out of the shadows and destroy him. Unfortunately, that cunning demon had buried himself so deeply within the Dimensional Rift that even his Omniscience could barely track his presence. There were moments when he suspected something even worse than Rizevim had crossed the boundaries of this world, hiding in some domain beyond his own sphere of calculation through the [Fourth Magic].

The Dimensional Rift of this world wasn't just a void—it was absolute nothingness, a space where neither time, nor matter, nor even laws existed. From it had emerged Ophis, the Dragon of Infinity, forged from the eternal silence of that "nothingness." Its secrets remained unfathomable, shrouded in veils of mystery that the original history never dared to fully explain. What was known for certain was that Great Red guarded that region like a sentinel, repelling any intruders who dared to invade this world. Thus, that place essentially connected to countless different worlds.

To give an idea, it was as if the Rift were the corridor of a massive building with infinite doors. Behind each door lay a different world, with its own rules and realities. But the "corridor" itself had no floor, no ceiling, no walls—just an endless void. Those who dared to enter unprepared would find no exit; they would be swallowed by the nothingness before even reaching a door. That was the fate of those without the power to navigate the Dimensional Rift.

The [Omniscience] derived from the [Fourth Magic], however, had a clear limit: its perception only extended to the observable universe. In contrast, the [Second Magic] encompassed the [Multiverse], allowing him to flip through parallel realities as if they were mere volumes in an infinite library.

But Rizevim's hiding place lay precisely in the corridor between this world and others, a liminal zone inaccessible to both the gaze of [Omniscience] and the reading of parallel worlds provided by the [Second Magic]. Even his [Clairvoyance], inherited from Solomon, proved useless there. He could probe the "future" and see its most likely path, but the place where Rizevim hid simply didn't appear within that possibility—his vision was restricted to the single thread of the most plausible fate. And because of this, Rizevim's location became a blind spot in his predictive abilities.

That was why he hadn't acted to kill Rizevim earlier. He didn't know where that cunning devil was.

If he had known, he would have killed him long ago to resolve this world's "final problems."

Though he had other ways to uncover Rizevim's location, he imagined that cunning devil had a way to slip through his grasp, perhaps through some Deus ExE. So, he waited for the perfect moment—now.

The second reason, however, was even crueler in its simplicity. He could have activated the [Balance Breaker] much earlier… but, according to the scenario his [Omniscience] allowed him to glimpse, only this moment aligned victory with the least possible loss.

It was a cold, almost inhuman decision. Thousands of innocents were inevitably consumed by the flames of war. Yet, in that moment, the sacrifice was necessary—a bitter coin traded for the certainty that the enemy would fall. He wasn't a god capable of preventing all suffering; he only had the ability to choose the most likely path and follow it to the end.

And even bearing the monstrous weight of that choice, he had a trump card no one else possessed: his connection to the [Root]. Through it, the innocents lost could, later, be revived.

Either way, it was time to end this battle once and for all.

Kyoto wasn't Rizevim's only target. The Heavens, Grigori, Asgard, and even the land of the Japanese Gods, as well as human nations across the world, had plunged into chaos. The Demon attacked on multiple fronts, leading his army of Super Demons to strike all his allies.

He, in turn, had deployed his servants with surgical precision, positioning them to hold each front. That was why only a few were gathered here; the rest were engaged in critical battles scattered across the world, fighting to contain the destruction.

That was, after all, the second reason for activating the [Balance Breaker] at this moment: all fronts had been attacked exactly as he had foreseen. A single gesture was enough, and Rizevim's entire army was swallowed by a [Pocket Dimension], isolating them in a battlefield governed solely by his rules.

The purple mist began to dissipate slowly, like smoke retreating after a devastating storm. When the last wisps faded into the air, Yasaka opened her eyes, filled with a mix of awe and reverence.

Urakyoto had vanished so abruptly it was almost shocking. Now, before them, stretched a vast hill, surrounded by towering mountain ranges and dense forests, where ancient trees stood like silent sentinels. The wind carried the damp scent of vegetation, and the distant sound of flowing streams pierced the absolute silence of the new dimension. Every detail seemed too vivid to be real, every color intensely saturated, as if the entire world had been painted by divine hands.

Beside Kazuya stood his servants: Mordred, Musashi, Quetzalcoatl, Shuten Douji, Salter, Jalter, and Nero.

The silence was broken not by the demons, but by the voices of the women beside Kazuya.

Mordred let out a loud huff, resting Clarent on her shoulder and glaring at the sky filled with grotesque shadows.

"Great. Finally, a battle against someone interesting is about to start. Those clones weren't even worth the effort, Master! A hundred, two hundred, who knows how many of those monsters up there…" She grinned fiercely, her crimson eyes gleaming. "Doesn't matter. I just want to see how many can stand before they turn to dust."

Musashi, in contrast, let out a calm sigh, as if analyzing every detail of the landscape.

"When you said to prepare because we'd be entering a Pocket Dimension, Master, I never thought it'd be a place like this…" she commented, sliding her fingers along the hilt of her katanas. Her smile was serene, but her eyes were already fixed on the enemies above. "Hm… the perfect stage for a dance."

Quetzalcoatl raised her arms like a fighter about to step into the ring.

"¡Sí, cielito!" she shouted, vibrant, her golden eyes sparkling. "You brought us straight to the best arena possible! Those demons don't even know they're about to be crushed in a lucha de verdad!"

Shuten Douji let out a soft giggle, covering her mouth with her sleeve.

"Ufufu… what a delicious fragrance…" Her eyes glinted, narrow like a predator's.

Salter, as always, was the coldest. She stood tall, her eyes fixed on the sky.

"…I was starting to get bored dealing with those clones."

Jalter smirked, her eyes flashing as she declared, "I'm gonna have fun burning every piece of those bastards until there's nothing but ashes left!"

And finally, Nero.

She took two steps forward, her red cape billowing in the wind, and raised her sword as if standing before an invisible audience.

"Sublime! Absolutely sublime!" she proclaimed, her theatrical tone echoing through the valley. "This is the perfect stage for the eternal glory of Empress Nero Claudius!"

Her eyes sparkled as they turned to Kazuya, but then stopped abruptly on Yasaka, still in his arms.

Her triumphant smile vanished in an instant.

"B-but…" Nero cleared her throat loudly, trying to maintain her composure. "Doesn't it seem… inappropriate, my Praetor? Holding another lady like that in the midst of battle?!"

The others reacted almost immediately.

"Tch." Mordred raised an eyebrow. "I agree with the empress there, it's kinda weird."

"Ufufu…" Shuten Douji laughed, her voice drawn out. "Anata~ seems to enjoy putting on a show too."

"What a sight, Master…" Jalter chuckled, dripping with sarcasm. "Our commander in battle, carrying the little fox like she's a princess. Almost makes me want to clap."

Salter said nothing, but the firm grip on her sword spoke volumes. Musashi looked away with a forced smile, clearly uncomfortable. Quetzalcoatl, on the other hand, tilted her head mischievously.

"Hehe… looks like everyone wants to be carried like that, ¿no?"

It was then that Yasaka, still in Kazuya's arms, let out a serene smile laced with sweet venom.

"Hm… jealous, all of you?" she said in a soft, malice-laden voice.

"How amusing… after all, I've already tasted his body so many times…" She tilted her head, lightly brushing her face against his chest. "Of course, I have the right to be carried like this."

Her words were like sparks tossed into gunpowder.

The air grew heavier instantly.

Nero turned red, indignant.

"What?! Insolent!" she roared, pointing her sword at Yasaka. "Don't you dare say such things in the presence of the legitimate empress!"

Jalter looked grim at the woman's words, about to retort, but was interrupted by the infuriating woman beside her.

"Hmph." Salter didn't take her eyes off the sky, but the stiffness in her voice betrayed her discomfort. "Useless words."

"Ufufu…" Shuten clapped lightly, her smile growing wider. "I love it when wives and lovers fight. It's always so… intense."

Kazuya sighed deeply, finally setting Yasaka down with a calmness that contrasted with the heated atmosphere.

"Enough," he said, his voice low but firm. "This isn't the time for this."

Yasaka adjusted herself on the ground, still smiling provocatively.

"Ah… always so serious," she murmured, lifting her gaze to him. "But, well… I already know who you truly belong to."

Her final taunt was accompanied by a look that stirred the servants even more.

Nero raised her chin, indignant, but soon turned her attention to the sky, as if her anger could be unleashed on the demons. Mordred spun Clarent on her shoulder, trying to mask the tension.

And then, as if responding to the charged atmosphere, the Super Demons roared, their voices reverberating through the valley. The sound was so brutal that the trees trembled, and the air warped like glass about to shatter.

Kazuya, on the other hand, smiled calmly and said, "Stay here, Yasaka. Don't get directly involved for now."

She tilted her head but obeyed, stepping back a few paces and crossing her arms.

"As you wish, Kazuya…" she murmured, but her golden eyes remained fixed on him.

Kazuya turned his attention to the Super Demons.

"Let's end this quickly!"
