Chapter 116 - Chapter 113 - Battle of Kyoto (IV)

The 'Battlefield No. 2' had taken on the appearance of New York City.

The cold wind swept through the empty streets, echoing the lonely clatter of traffic signs and broken windows. The city's lights, once so vibrant, now flickered in silence, as if still trying to cling to a daily life that no longer existed there. Abandoned cars rested in the middle of the avenues, some with their doors open, others crushed by the impact of colossal forces.

Kazuya appeared silently at the top of a skyscraper. He stood there, motionless at the edge, feeling the cold breeze and observing the scene before him. The reflection of demons gleamed in the glass, and for a moment, the image seemed straight out of a nightmare.

In the end, his Longinus only created an artificial space, a "copy" that he shaped from reality, and since he didn't bother imagining a scenario, his Balance Breaker randomly generated [Pocket Dimensions].

Kazuya didn't have time to lose himself in his own thoughts.

A massive shadow covered the top of the building. One of the Super Demons descended at breakneck speed, its body enveloped in black flames. It raised its claw and, with a single gesture, unleashed a torrent of fire.

It wasn't an ordinary blaze. The energy was so concentrated that, in human terms, it could vaporize an entire country in seconds. The air trembled, and the skyscraper's windows shattered even before the attack reached them.

Kazuya merely raised his hand.

A blue glow formed in his palm, dense and absolute, like a point that devoured the space around it. The infernal torrent collided with that color and… vanished. No explosion, no resistance. The fire was simply erased from existence, as if it had never been unleashed.

The flames that could have reduced New York to ashes disappeared before him like sparks snuffed out by rain.

Kazuya sighed, letting his arm fall back to his side.

"Too noisy."

Above, the Super Demon hesitated. For a moment, even those flames that shouldn't be contained seemed to betray its arrogance.

Kazuya raised his gaze, blue against crimson, and the cold wind swept across the top of the building.

"My turn."

Kazuya looked up at the demon. His eyes glowed with a deep, calm, and lethal blue, in contrast to the incandescent crimson emanating from the creature.

The Super Demon roared, puffing out its chest and preparing another attack, but Kazuya didn't move. He merely raised his hand again, two fingers pointing forward as if it were a trivial gesture.

A vivid red appeared in the air. It wasn't just a color; it was a concept. A distortion that collapsed matter, heat, and energy into a single direction. The space seemed to twist, repelled and crushed into an absolute red line. He used the principles of the [Second Magic] in his spell inspired by Satoru Gojo, making it infinitely stronger.

The demon opened its mouth to roar, but there was no time.

The "Red" reached it.

In an instant, half of the creature's body was obliterated without resistance. Blood rained down toward the ground.

The night sky glowed for a moment, illuminated by the dissipated energy. Then, silence.

The skyscraper remained intact. The cold wind swept through the dead city once more.

Kazuya lowered his hand, as if he had merely brushed aside an annoyance.

At that moment, five roars echoed simultaneously.

From all sides, the sky was filled with demonic wings. Each of the Super Demons carried a power that, anywhere else, would be enough to doom the world.

One of them raised its arms and summoned pillars of black fire that rose like volcanoes erupting in the heart of the city. Another opened its mouth and unleashed waves of destructive energy that tore entire blocks apart. The others joined in, shaping spheres of water, blood-red lightning, and slashing gusts that distorted even space itself.

All the attacks were launched toward Kazuya.

In a matter of seconds, half of the artificial New York was swallowed in destruction. Skyscrapers fell like dominoes, avenues cracked into craters, and the sky blazed with flashes that seemed like the end of times.

A white glare dominated everything, followed by a shockwave that swept across kilometers. Dust and smoke covered the skies, muffling the sounds for a moment.

The five demons hovered in the air, their bodies tense, wings beating hard to clear the curtain of ashes. The smell of destruction permeated the air.

When the smoke cleared…

Kazuya was there.

Not a scratch, his clothes untouched.

The top of the skyscraper where he stood had been completely destroyed, but he remained suspended in the air, standing on nothing, as if it were natural. His blue eyes gleamed in the dark like sharpened blades.

He raised his right hand, fingers opening gently.

The air shifted.

A thunderclap rumbled, deep, as if it came from the very heart of the dimension. The dark clouds were torn apart in an instant, revealing fissures of pure golden light. The entire space trembled with the manifestation of the [Authority of Lightning] he had received from Zeus. As a chief god, bearer of the great bolts capable of destroying skies, galaxies, and the scythe of Adamas. It is said he even holds the authority to incinerate the entire universe…

And then, the lightning struck.

It wasn't just electricity. It was a concentrated bolt of superconductor plasma, where each charged particle moved at near-light speed, compressed into a beam so dense it distorted the space-time around it.

The flash that descended from the heavens didn't just burn the air; it ionized it completely, creating a column where oxygen and nitrogen molecules were literally stripped of their electrons, leaving only a corridor of pure energy.

The impact didn't just cause heat.

The level of energy released was comparable to a localized supernova, enough to unleash in microseconds more energy than billions of nuclear bombs combined.

The flash tore through the artificial New York from top to bottom, turning night into day.

Entire skyscrapers were vaporized before the shockwave even hit them. The very matter of the artificial city was converted into incandescent plasma, its atoms stripped down to their nuclei, while the surface below was crushed into a blazing crater.

The five Super Demons didn't have time to scream. Their biological structures weren't just destroyed—they were broken down to the subatomic level, reduced to fundamental particles before dispersing into the incandescent atmosphere.

The impact was so absolute that the remaining half of the city simply vanished.

Kazuya slowly lowered his hand, his gaze calm, as if he had merely flicked on a light switch.

The wind blew, carrying the ashes of what was once an illusory metropolis.

In the distance, across the ruined horizons of the dimension, dozens of malevolent presences rose simultaneously. When he sent them to this 'Battlefield No. 2,' they had all been scattered in different directions. Naturally, they were more Super Demons. Dozens of them, spread across the outskirts of the city.

He vanished.

In less than a microsecond, he crossed the artificial atmosphere at 99.999% the speed of light. The shock of his movement generated waves of blue Cherenkov radiation, as if the air itself had become a luminous sea.

The first demon was crushed before it could comprehend. Kazuya's hand gripped its head, and a 1.21-teravolt electrical discharge coursed through its brain. Molecules broke apart, atoms ionized, and the entire body collapsed into incandescent plasma. It disintegrated without leaving even a shadow.

The second roared and manipulated gravity, bending the light around its body. A black sphere was forming in its hands, ready to devour kilometers of space. Kazuya passed through the 'event horizon' as if it were air, his figure no longer obeying the usual laws of physics.

A kick cloaked in relativistic plasma collided with the creature's chest.

The pressure of the impact was comparable to the collision of two supermassive stars. The demon shattered into elementary particles, vanishing before it could release the roar trapped in its throat.

"Two."

Three advanced together. One spat a black flame whose temperature surpassed the ignition point of deuterium, capable of initiating nuclear reactions in anything it touched. Another conjured blades of cutting energy that vibrated at frequencies of spontaneous fission, ready to split any atomic nucleus in two. The third concentrated spheres of negative energy that diluted the universal constants around them.

Kazuya danced among them all.

With every movement, reality seemed to lag, as if struggling to keep up with something beyond the speed of light.

He passed through the nuclear blaze and dissipated it with the palm of his hand, the heat absorbed and nullified by a discharge of superconductor plasma that neutralized the ongoing fusion.

Spinning his body, the tips of his fingers sliced through one of the cutting blades; the vibrational energy was inverted by an electromagnetic shockwave, collapsing it in silence.

In the next instant, he appeared in front of the third, two fingers resting on its forehead. A blue spark pierced its skull, and the entire body imploded in a burst of gamma rays, evaporating into the air.

Three bodies vanished in less than the blink of an eye.

Five more came.

The artificial sky was covered in spears, spheres, waves. Phenomena that could extinguish entire civilizations.

One raised its hand and concentrated energy until the sky was covered in red clouds, drops of ionized perchloric acid, so corrosive it could dissolve metal in seconds, began to rain in torrents, each drop burning like liquid plasma.

Another opened its throat and unleashed a beam of accelerated particles, a blast of supersonic hadrons so dense that the artificial atmosphere began to fission around it, creating flashes resembling mini nuclear bombs.

The third spat a wave of incandescent gas at hundreds of millions of degrees, enough to initiate thermonuclear fusion on contact.

The fourth shaped an immense sphere of antimatter, each gram capable of releasing energy equivalent to dozens of Tsar Bombs.

And the fifth, without hesitation, exploded into a shower of cutting fragments, blades of pure energy sharp enough to slice entire continents.

They all advanced together.

Kazuya let out a low laugh. His body glowed blue, and then he dove in.

The first demon was the one with the acid rain. Kazuya passed through the corrosive curtain as if it were air, for the lightning around him created a barrier of superconductor plasma that repelled every drop. In less than an instant, he gripped the creature's throat, closing his fingers. The condensed electrical energy penetrated the flesh, breaking molecules into their basic elements and then converting them into plasma.

The creature melted like wax under the sun.

The second launched its energy beam, but Kazuya raised his hand. His electric field deflected the particle stream, forcing its protons to collide before reaching him. A chain reaction of beta decay exploded, illuminating the sky. Kazuya passed through the explosion with a smile and delivered a punch to the creature's chest. The impact didn't break bones—it collapsed the quark-gluon structure itself. The entire body disintegrated into pure radiation.

The third spat its wave of stellar plasma. Kazuya launched himself against it, his body enveloped in lightning that neutralized the fusion. He advanced like a meteor toward the demon and pierced it with his fist. The pressure of his electrical discharge was comparable to a supernova of captured electrons, crushing the creature's core until nothing remained.

The fourth demon held its antimatter sphere. It launched the glowing mass toward Kazuya. A single contact could have erased the entire dimension. But Kazuya extended his palm. His lightning manipulated the antimatter's charges, forcing it to lose symmetry and collapse before reaching him. The sphere exploded in the void, but Kazuya was already in front of the creature. With a simple motion, two fingers on its chest, the spark pierced its spine, and the body converted into gamma energy, disintegrating as if it had never existed.

The last, the one with the quantum blades, charged with a shower of invisible cuts. Kazuya spun his body like a dancer, each step releasing discharges that nullified one blade frequency after another. When he finally stopped, he was in the creature's blind spot. His kick pierced its skull, and the released energy was equivalent to the simultaneous eruption of every volcano on the planet.

The body disintegrated into particles, scattered like cosmic dust.

Kazuya snapped his fingers. Lightning raced across the sky, drawing golden constellations.

"This is getting fun…"

And then, he vanished.

He appeared among the remaining Super Demons like an incarnate bolt of lightning. With every punch, a nuclear implosion. With every kick, relativistic shockwaves. Each touch erased creatures capable of destroying planets, reducing them to subatomic particles, to sparks that barely had time to form.

And he smiled.

In the absolute chaos, as the sky and ground shattered under the carnage, the only constant sound was Kazuya's calm laughter, exterminating dozens of demons as if they were nothing more than sparks in a storm.

It took no more than a minute to deal with an army of dozens of Super Demons capable of destroying the world!
