Jeevan opened his eyes he was standing in someone's room. The room was quite tidy, there was a table and there were many shelves full with a lot of books. There was a bed and a properly folded blanket on it. There were two chairs close to the table.
Jeevan got nervous. His head was aching really bad. Before he could have done anything his sight got blur and more blur. Before he realized that he still had a fever, total darkness surrounded him, he had fainted!
He regained consciousness and found himself in the same bed and blanket he had seen. Then, he looked at his side and saw a handsome young boy who was probably older than him. He started getting up.
"You don't need to get up. Just answer my questions. I don't mind if you do so in bed."
"Okay."
"So who are you?"
"I am Jeevan Bhardwaj."
"Okay, what were you doing in my room?"
"I don't know if you'll believe me or not."
"Just answer me and I'll decide whether to believe or not, you won't be harmed on telling the truth."
"I am from another world. I was lying in my bed and got pulled in by a portal."
"Oh, I see, seems sensible."
Jeevan was not sure if it was in sarcasm or not so he didn't say a word. The boy touched his forehead
probably he was checking whether he had a fever or not.
"It's still too high." He said "Lie down."
"Okay."
Jeevan felt like a burden but thought it was probably the best thing to do at the time. He didn't notice when he fell asleep. And when he woke up he saw the boy on a chair reading something written on a paper, Jeevan guessed it was a letter. After he was finished reading he gave a sigh. Then turned around and saw Jeevan. He came towards him and touched his forehead again.
"You are finally back to normal, so tell me one thing did you had this fever in your world too?"
"Yeah. I did."
"Oh. No wonder it was so high."
The boy went out of the room and came back after a second. He was holding a ring and was wearing gloves when he returned.
"Hey, just wear this ring in your right hand for a second."
"Sure!"
As soon as he wore the ring it started glowing. Jeevan was shocked as soon as he saw the ring shining he removed it with an instant.
"What was that!" Exclaimed Jeevan
"I thought so!"
"What do you mean? What's going on?"
"Relax! I will explain you everything. Listen carefully!"
"Okay!"
"Do you know what Alona is?"
"Aallloonaaa?"
"I knew you wouldn't! Alona is a kind of magical energy existing in every being. With the help of Alona you can perform magic, though it depends on individuals too."
"Magic? Why are you telling me this?"
"Don't interrupt in between, I am explaining everything one by one. Alona exists in every being but the quantity and the nature depends. In most of the individuals and animals it is very less and is only capable of maintaining their body, but in few, the case is different. Some creatures may have high Alona level which makes them capable of performing magic but their is also a disadvantage of it. If the Alona level is not controlled then it leads to a different kind of high fever and that's not it. If you are not capable of suppressing it then you can die. Alona is also affected by your emotions. If your will to live or your optimistic nature is spangled into sorrow then, the fever can consume you. If anger surrounds you it is possible that you lose control over your body and you could start using the Alona powers to harm the person who caused you pain even without knowing. And you really have a very, very high Alona level."
"So, you mean, my fever is effected by my emotions. Hey, wait a second, what should I do with such a high Alona level?"
Before the boy could say anything, Jeevan's diary started glowing.
"Where is this light coming from!" was the boy.
"It's my diary. I will read it out.
Dear Jeevan
As he explained right now, you have a high Alona level and so does your sister and brother. I will absorb your Alona when it rises high but you need to keep an eye on your will. As for Janhavi, her hair stick and earrings will help her. I guess you didn't knew but they are magical as well. But unlike the diary, they are only able to absorb the excess Alona. And Jaivik is learning a solution as we speak but he probably wouldn't know about Alona. Well guess I'll tell you, Ayushmann and Kirtika also have high Alona level which is absorbed by their skates as they use them. And last thing your brother and sister are not in this world, they are trapped in another worlds, so you would have to find the way out of this world on your own.
That's it? Enh! What am I going to do now?"
"Rest a bit and then we will discuss about the issue."
"Why are you helping me mister?"
"Well I have my selfish reasons but this would help both of us. I'll tell you later and would also like to hear about your world."
"So you trust me, that I am from a different world!"
"In the magic related books I have read, it's written about existence of multiple worlds, so I knew they existed but had never imagined I would meet someone belonging to another world." Then he peeped through the window
"Oh I see."
"I need to go somewhere but don't worry I'll be back in an hour or two. Then we can continue this discussion of ours."
"Okay!"
Saying this the boy went out, sat in a carriage which was waiting for him in front of the main gate. As he said, he returned in two hours looking rather weak and pale but Jeevan didn't notice it.
"I am back." He said and then sat down
"By the way where were you?"
"I had to attend a ceremony."
"What kind of ceremony."
"Since I am not a noble from birth I had to pledge my loyalty to the noble society."
"Oh, what happens in that ceremony" asked Jeevan being rather too curious to know about this world.
"First some of the blood of the commoner person who wants to be a noble is taken out, after that his or her blood is placed in a big vessel and then the noble put their feet into it to judge their Alona level and if it is quite high like the nobles have they are permitted but if it isn't sufficient the person is executed-"
"Executed!" Exclaimed Jeevan really shocked
"Yes executed. If you are permitted you have to take a pledge and then offer some of your blood to the gods and then you are believed to be reborn as a noble."
"But don't you think it was a big risk and could have even ended as a threat to you life!"
"My sister asked me to attend the ceremony very well knowing my Alona level is quite high and I won't be executed."
"I think you should rest, I mean giving your blood and all that."
"Yeah you probably are right."
He lied down in the bed and soon fell asleep. What a horrible ceremony! I am so glad a person as nice as him didn't die! Goodness it is just like the caste system of our country except for the fact that one works on the birth and the other on Alona level. But still it's unspeakably dreadful! I am so delighted that I was borned in my world and in my Era! Stupid nobles and their noble society! Thought Jeevan. After half an hour the kind boy woke up looking a bit better. He got up and went to the kitchen.
"Are you sure you are alright? You should rest a little longer."
"I am alright. Thanks for being so caring."
"You are not the one who should be grateful, I am the one who should be grateful to you, for believing in me. Thank you!"
"Why won't I believe you if you're telling the truth?"
"Well, it's not always like that. Never mind!"
Even though they didn't realise it but they were coming closer day by day. Although Jeevan was still missing his family he was kinda happy. He didn't feel lonely anymore.
One day Jeevan saw him writing something and he realised it was a letter he read this much by chance "Omkaar" written in the end. So his name is Omkaar, I see, a nice name. Hey it's embarrassing that I was living with him but didn't know his name. By now he had guessed his age was probably seventeen.
"You're seventeen, right?"
"Yeah, well that was out of the blue."
"Oh yeah, it suddenly came in my head."
"Oh!"
A few days went away and one day a letter arrived and Omkaar started reading it. After reading it, for some reason his face turned as white as a sheet.
"Jeevan!" he said.
"Yeah?"
"There's a problem!"
"What kind of a problem?" Jeevan asked terified
"We might have a visitor."
"Oh, just a visitor. You really had me worried there."
"Don't you get it!"
"Get what?"
"You are hidden, no one except me and you know you are here, you are staying here without the knowledge of the nobility."
"What! So am I illegal?"
"It's not like you are illegal, it's more like you don't exist."
"Don't exist? So just tell them about it."
"It's not that simple. I'm not sure what they'll do to you. Best possibility is that they'll help you and the worst is they'll get rid of you."
"Get rid of me!"
"I'll hide you tomorrow. Okay?"
"Alright! Thanks for all you are doing for me."
"Nah, it's alright."
