"Mate."
The moment the word left Beowulf's mouth, Layla's eyes narrowed dangerously. She bared her teeth at him, growling fiercely as if she was about to shred him into pieces.
"Ember…" Beowulf paused as if he wasn't exactly sure she was me. "You have gained your wolf form." He said surprised and pleased, walking cautiously towards us.
However, Layla's body tensed, her fur bristled. "How dare you call us your mate when you've already rejected us?"
"That wasn't me, it was the human… I would never reject you, I'm not that stupid." Beowulf's grey eyes softened, yet they burned with the desire to claim her and make her submit to him.
Layla scoffed, raising her paw midair as if she were cleaning first from her claws. Her eyes darkened. "You are as stupid as him, because I don't want you back."
Beowulf let out a dramatic howl, as if his heart had been shattered. "Take me back."
"No," Layla growled fiercely.
