Sylas was still in his room after telling Kai what James had said about Alora and Ian. That afternoon, the man even asked for lunch to be brought to Kai's room.
Kai was feeling better, even though his body was still stiff. But Sylas treated him like a patient who had just been in a serious accident.
"Be careful, Kai. Don't move too much," Sylas said worriedly when Kai grimaced every time he tried to stand up or reach for something.
"I'm fine, Master..." Kai said, not wanting to make Sylas worry even more. He was used to injuries like this, but he liked the man's attention.
"You don't need to wear that bracelet, Kai. I'm the only one here. You don't need to hide your scars from me," said Sylas as he brought the clothes he had bought yesterday and asked Kai to wear them.
"It's colder today, so wear these clothes," said Sylas.
