Chapter 71 - Indescribable connection

"How could this be? I can't believe this!" Reiji shouted, struggling to speak like earlier.

I stepped forward multiply and set my foot right beside Reiji's figure and spoke while locking my gaze upon Reiji's eyes, "Every single step we set in, every single word we use in our conversation, every decision we make, and everything we do in the very moments of our life is the very thing that will determine our fate, our future, and the success rate of our goal. So you'll never know which one of your decisions was wrong that led you to your demise. Unless you become worthy of being a conqueror. However, that's exactly what we are, which is why we'll win no matter what. We're not deities that will bless the mortals, or mortals to be blessed. But some entities free like the birds in the sky, that will ascend unstoppably, without a pause, and become the conqueror of the world, of the story, and every possible aspect that will; we'll be the greatest and the strongest."

"Perfection isn't the very key of success, nor can you ever be a perfect person. But the world will slowly lead you to the way where you'll be free from those flaws, from those mistakes. Our journey even since the beginning changed us in so many ways, changed the mistakes we've made in the past, helped us to repair the flaws in the very journey." Marco added to my sentences, indifferent from me.

"Just how can I make such a mistake where I will betray my beloved comrades just to fill your foolish desire, and so-called love? Of course, I'll never repeat the same mistakes I've committed in the past." I spoke again, a similar calm tone of speaking like earlier.

"You might be thinking something like…I'm some heartless girl who can't value someone's emotion. But the actual question is, is it even possible to believe that you did all these just for your so-called love? Absolutely no." I continued speaking, indifferent.

"The sole entity who can erase the desire and the layer of manipulation planted in the mortals' minds, and remove their intensity of chaos and self-destruction. If you guys could take the entity for yourselves, your goal to recreate every possible lower layer, and redeem the mortals was going to be an easy task to do. In fact, you guys could eventually destroy us as well, following the ritual happening among the mortals. Definitely our mental state isn't supposed to be stable after witnessing the self-destruction of the ones that we're going to save." Marco added, following my sentence like earlier.

"The vampire pill, the very pill that allows anyone to become a mindless vampire following the ones who have eaten the pills. I can't see even a singular retainer that's yet to consume the vampire pill. And then comes the one who controls the vampire pills. The one to control the pill can turn any of the retainers into a vampire if he wants; in fact, he can turn all of the retainers into vampires and make them kill each other without any hesitation." I added, following Marco.

"The entity who can be the savior for the layers is Maria. While the vampire terror creator is none other than you, Reiji." Marco concluded.

Reiji was speechless the entire time. His gaze was frozen, surprised and full of questions. How is this even possible for us to figure out all these and execute them? How could someone outperform his intelligence? How is this even possible? Reiji failed to bring out even a single clue regarding.

I drew a white magic circle in front of my right hand. As the circle began to rotate around continuously, I put my right hand inside the circle and brought out a pistol from there.

Without holding any hesitation in my eyes and expression, I shot a bullet toward Reiji. The bullet instantly penetrated Reiji's forehead and instantly forced his soul to shatter into nothing. Fresh blood scattered around his figure from his forehead, continuing to spread out from the inside of his head without a pause.

"You were definitely good in a chessboard game, but we're just simply far better." I spoke, calm and effective as I rarely appear to be.

Reiji's figure slowly began to disappear from there, similar to Marco's clone figure. However, it was a little different from Marco. While Marco hid his actual figure by sending his clone figure, it wasn't Reiji who caused the disappearance of his figure, but Raizel.

From miles away from there, Raizel absorbed Reiji's figure along with his magic power. While both I and Marco kept witnessing that, we were visibly confused, yet expressionless.

After keeping ourselves silent for a while, I broke the silence, "Good job executing the plan. I wasn't expecting such a performance from a useless monkey such as yourself." I smiled as my tone appeared sarcastic as well.

"Useless monkey? Look who's talking. You're the one who would have ended up marrying him if not for my interference. If I were to be dead, who would have ended up being your savior?" Marco replied, confident and a little sarcastic. Being sarcastic is a common nature for Marco, especially when it's about me.

Following his sentences, I replied in a way similar to his sarcastic tone, "I'm a self-sufficient being; your help was unnecessary without any doubt. You think it's hard for me to defeat him without you? Pathetic." My voice was quite confident, along with the intensity of sarcasm.

"Well, it's not impressive yet. You just used some rocky-level trick to outplay Reiji, with my help, of course." Marco replied, still sarcastic.

"As if you did something better without my help? Being brutally murdered by some weakling like Reiji isn't impressive; it's some loser activity." I replied, indifferent from earlier.

"That wasn't me." Marco replied immediately while wielding a desperate and annoyed expression.

"You are still a fool and a loser." I said, being sarcastic consistently.

"Earlier you said I'm like the other half of your soul. Does that mean you love me?" Marco said, with a little serious expression as he blushed a little. He definitely didn't mean it, rather trying to make fun of my sentence from earlier.

"Shut up, stupid fool. Nobody is going to love a stupid and ruthless fool such as yourself." I shouted. My voice reflected a bit of annoyance.

"Hahaha." Marco burst into laughter. His eyes changed their shape once again, revealing the presence of satisfaction and never-ending happiness.

We're friends, we're comrades, & we're enemies that are desperate to kill each other. For some moments, we're beings that can't exist without each other. Our relationship isn't something that can be described with any possible language. It's not the never-ending love with endless romance, not the type of love a boy can possibly have for a girl. However, it's something that was forced to be created by nature, by the world, and by causality.

Our bonding isn't love, but an indescribable relation that's far beyond the concept of love, romance, or anything. We become cruel for our other half, we become kind for our other half, we kill for the other half, we save for the other half. In some stories, we killed each other. In some stories, we sacrificed ourselves for the fellow one.

It was a part of our causality, the process of our becoming one with each other, a sort of bonding that can never be broken.
