"What do you think you can even do here, Aizis?" Arfanez asked casually. He wasn't expressing his anger at Aizis, but there was a bit of rudeness in his tone.
"Nothing much. I'm just hoping to bring out some changes in the conclusion. Perhaps, I've decided to reject the fated conclusion." Aizis replied, mysterious as his voice appeared to be. His sentence wasn't clear to me yet, but something seemed suspicious to me. Aizis was always mysterious to all of us, never appearing to be a crystal-clean person. His way of speaking, his expression, and mysterious smile always kept me at a point of sense where I couldn't decide my belief about him. For me, he's like a spy who can betray us at any moment. After the moment of his barrier blocking our way, the suspense reached its peak.
"You bastard Aizis, what kind of comrade are you to let your own comrade die? How could you do this?" I shouted, glaring at him intently.
"Comrade? I'm not a comrade. I'm just a witness who wants to put some twist in the story. I'm not the writer, nor a part of the story. But certainly, I've slowly become a part of the characters belonging to the story. They're no longer strangers to me, but…." Aizis replied, unable to complete his sentence.
"It seems like I have to care about the story. My care for the story is driving me to my intents to shape the story in the perfect way I believe it has to be." Aizis added, casual like earlier.
"And thus, it's time for me to conclude this part of the story in the way I've planned to do. Everything that happened till now wasn't part of any of your plans; it wasn't something that Arfanez planned. But something that was going following my shape, in my way." Aizis spoke once more, smiling a bit afterward.
All of us began to sweat a little, as his sentence wasn't clear with the narrow layer of suspense on it. All of us were simply wondering, what is he actually trying to mean?
"What…are you…trying to say?" I spoke, confused and a little afraid.
"You'll definitely get the answer very soon. But for now, it's time to begin my showdown." Aizis replied, shouting in the latter half of his sentence.
After listening to Aizis's sentences for some moments, Arfanez replied fearlessly, "I really don't know what you are trying to do, but it will never be something that can take me down from my ideals."
"I'll surely fix this belief, right now and here." Aizis replied, smiling carelessly afterward.
"So then, let me start the second round of destruction. I shall execute every single being who will stand in my way." Arfanez spoke, indifferently fearless from earlier.
"My soldiers of darkness, go ahead and kill all those foolish beings." He ordered with his effective commanding voice.
The dark figures restarted their movement toward everyone in the world except Arfanez. Their figures were completely covered under shadows, as if they're consumed by those deadly shadows. For a moment, I thought of them as some weak puppets. But the thought immediately changed by the dark figures. Those figures began to attack the retainers as the retainers were visibly struggling to even hold them off. A dark figure appeared in front of my eyes and tried to stab through my chest with his deadly claws, but my snow sword immediately cut him down into pieces.
In front of my eyes, it was the scene of pure chaos and rampage. It was a little sight of hell in front of me, hell that will slowly drive us toward the most cruel conclusion. The dark shadow figures in front of me, and the chaotic flaming domain kept making me tremble. But I kept trying my attempt to be strong, just to keep my promises to my comrades.
As the rampage of the shadow figures began, Aizis covered the entire domain under a visible white magic barrier. The barrier started generating white smoke inside the entire world itself.
"If the darkness causes chaos, then the white snow shall rise upon the face of the world as the savior." Aizis spoke, his voice sounding a little poetic.
"It's time to demolish the curse." he added, changing his tone to that of a fearless warrior.
The snow-white smoke entered inside the bodies of the shadow figures, destroying them into ashes in the blink of an eye. Pieces of shadows scattered throughout the entire world from those shadow figures as they disappeared from our sight with the pieces of shadows falling to the ground.
The terrifying shadow figures are no more; they're demolished.
"When the story runs ahead to a foolish conclusion, I stand as a pillar and demolish the flaw of the story. I'm not a warrior, not a part of the story, but the one who will shape the story in a perfect way." Aizis spoke, sounding a little loud, unlike his usual style of speaking.
"I don't want to witness some dark shadow figures rampaging in front of my gaze; it's nothing that I like, you know. It's obvious that I will demolish all of them with my own hand." He added, pretty much indifferent aside from the gentle smile at the end of his sentence.
He lowered his gaze entirely toward the scattered shadows around the ground. He offered a little piece of a smile toward the shadows and lifted his gaze upon Arfanez along with his index finger pointing at him.
Over hundreds of magic circles appeared behind Aizis. The magic circles were a little different as they were glowing with blue light smiling toward the ahead. Slowly in time, the magic circles began to rotate in their own place and kept accelerating unstoppably.
Aizis intently glared at Arfanez and offered a sinister smile to him. His smile was getting wider as his eyes were, showing his endless desire to crush Arfanez there.
"Just like them, I shall demolish you right here and now, Arfanez." he spoke, shouting much louder than earlier as every single being in the realm could hear his shout.
"Go," He commanded. Countless weapons flew toward Arfanez from the magic circles without a pause. Arfanez began to move from his place, trying his best to dodge all the weapons coming toward him. Swords, spears, and golden sticks kept coming at him at an extremely incredible speed. While he was doing his best to keep dodging, in time, he accelerated himself so much that it seemed like it was nearly impossible for even Raizel to compete with his level of speed.
However, it wasn't much more than a mouse trying to run away from a cat. Following the flow of time, several pieces of weapons stabbed Arfanez and pinned him down on the ground, making him cough up blood.
Aizis immediately appeared in front of Arfanez's figure with his pure speed. For a moment, I felt like he teleported himself there, but only to realize that his speed was simply way too much for me to detect.
Aizis expressionlessly stared at Arfanez with his weak gaze. It's like his destructive spirit from earlier had been destroyed completely right there, like a past that never existed. While Arfanez barely managed to lift his gaze upward to Aizis while struggling to take breaths.
"You've lost, Arfanez." Aizis spoke, careless and spiritless as his appearance was.
"Perhaps in the battle of strength. But I didn't lose in soul; I didn't lose with my ideals. I was always right, and will always be." Arfanez replied, full of spirit from the depth of his soul. But his external capability didn't let him express the entirety of his spirit.
"I never gave up on belief, which is what makes me a true winner. Unlike you, who've existed in history only to be known as a curse." He added.
Aizis was listening carelessly, but the word 'curse' immediately caught his eyes as he appeared to be pretty shocked. He strengthened his gaze upon Arfanez while trembling a bit, but only to lower his gaze right later on. His snow-white hair covered his eyes entirely from my sight.
"I'm not a curse." Aizis replied with his weakened and broken voice, putting a full stop in his sentence.
"You know the truth; nothing that I will have to make you aware of." Arfanez replied with a smile, his voice careless.
Arfanez spoke something for a while, but for some reason, I couldn't hear it. His voice was frozen to my awareness; I couldn't listen to even a single sentence coming from his voice. After speaking, he smiled a little. Then he spoke for one last time, "But the world knows, I was and will always be the most righteous being in the history of the story." He added, shouting in the latter part of his sentence. His shout was heard throughout the entire world itself, resounding unstoppably.
While carrying a gentle smile on his lips, Arfanez closed his eyes. He headed toward a silent world, where no one will take away his smile from those lips.
"Undoubtedly, you are the most righteous soul in the world. The soul that never meant to burn in flames, giving birth to a soul that burned in chaos." Aizis spoke to himself with his broken voice.
"You can't be wrong with your words, Arfanez. But please, don't make me remember the truth that keeps taunting me over and over." He thought to himself. His gaze was still down. Some pieces of tears came out from his eyes as he cried for a moment, removing his tears from his eyes immediately without giving us the time to notice them.
