Chapter 304: No Need to Be Polite with Me

The sky was just beginning to brighten.

As the Holy Saint of the Demon Sect, returning to the royal city on his first night brought an unusual restlessness to the place.

Apart from the local residents who had already witnessed many of Luo Wusheng's legendary deeds in the city, numerous newly arrived cultivators were also curious about the mysterious master of the Demon Artifact Pavilion, whose tales were spreading through every corner of the capital.

Naturally, his talents and cultivation needed no further elaboration—everyone knew he was among the very best in the current era. After all, at the age of twelve, he had already conquered the Human Immortal List competition that many were only now entering. Moreover, occasional sightings of traumatized Golden Core elders from the Ancient Heavenly Gate debacle further reinforced his reputation.

In terms of raw talent, as far as people knew, perhaps only the current Empress of the Immortal Nation and the Taoist Sect Chief Disciple could rival him.

On top of that, rumors suggested that he might have already broken through to the Nascent Soul Realm...

Yet, while these facts were awe-inspiring, what truly captivated the public were certain salacious tales about his youthful exploits.

Indeed, human nature has its common threads.

Meanwhile, the center of all this attention, Luo Wusheng, was lounging comfortably on a redwood rocking chair he had crafted in the courtyard of his mansion, letting the soft morning sunlight seep through the mist to fall gently on him.

"More sunlight and more music"—this was advice from a little pink fox as a remedy to dispel inner demons. It couldn't possibly be wrong.

Though, admittedly, the "music" part was a bit tricky to execute, mostly because explaining it might be a hassle.

Just then, a pleasant voice tinged with mild confusion reached his ears.

"How do you still have time to relax here? Didn't you say there were many things to do once the Demon Artifact Pavilion reopened?"

The voice came from Lu Yuliu, who was walking toward him. Her breathtakingly beautiful face and bright eyes surveyed him up and down with a hint of concern.

Luo Wusheng chuckled lightly. "At this hour, it's too early to open the Pavilion. My subordinates are probably just waking up. Even if there's a lot to do, we need everyone gathered before we can start."

The previous night's revenue at the Red Blossom Pavilion had undoubtedly been significantly boosted by his presence.

Poor him, he had even been kept awake all night by his seductive junior sister, while his employees were likely still groggily waking up.

Ah, well. At least the thought of seeing his dearest Ling Shuangxue again soon gave him a little hope for life.

As he mused to himself, a small wooden box suddenly landed in his lap.

Startled, he glanced at the girl who had tossed it to him. Without thinking, he opened the box to examine its contents—inside were several books and scattered jade slips.

"What's this?" he asked.

"When I returned to the Sword Sect this time, I thought of how you've already condensed Sword Intent, so I brought back some manuals on sword techniques and arts. They're external methods acquired by the Sword Sect or general techniques for sword cultivators, so you don't have to worry about the issue of them being shared outside.

"Even though you've already achieved great success with your Sword Intent due to your fortuitous encounters, it's always good to solidify your foundation."

Lu Yuliu spoke with the demeanor of a small teacher, reminding Luo Wusheng that, in a sense, this girl could be considered his half-mentor in the way of the sword.

Alas, times had changed.

The Sword Fairy, unaware of his thoughts, sighed in quiet relief.

'He seems normal, just like usual. Nothing must have happened last night, right?'

On the other side, Luo Wusheng flipped through the contents of the wooden box with interest.

"In that case, I won't stand on ceremony," he said. With their close relationship, there was no need for formalities.

He began to browse through the techniques one by one.

"'Breeze Sword Technique,' 'Sword Intent Mastery,' 'Sword Intent Nurturing Breath Manual'... Hmm? 'Mandarin Duck Bond Sword'... This is a dual cultivation sword technique for couples? And it's even suitable for Nascent Soul Realm cultivators?"

The young girl froze when she heard his puzzled voice.

Most of the sword manuals she brought were from the Frosty Snow Peak, but many also came from the two elders at Spirit Rain Peak and Fragrant Fox Peak, as part of their gifts of gratitude. She had left in a rush and only skimmed through them later, so she hadn't realized this was among them.

Was this dual cultivation technique the two elders intended to use?

But now...

"I-I just randomly picked some things and didn't check the specific contents... Ahem, you can just select the useful ones to study," she said hurriedly, a faint hint of panic in her voice.

Luo Wusheng didn't pay much attention to her reaction.

All he knew was that he now had another method to refine his dual cultivation techniques.

And considering both he and his dearest Ling Shuangxue were sword cultivators—even if his skills were a bit lacking—dual cultivation sword arts might yield even better results.

Come to think of it, one of the old hands at his Demon Artifact Pavilion, a boy named Xu Yuchun, also seemed interested in sword techniques. Pairing this with the high-level techniques his junior sister would bring from the Joyful Lotus Domain, it was about time to give his long-time followers some well-deserved perks.

Once the chaotic events in the royal city settled, he would likely have to break free from the surveillance of the Buddhist sects and go incognito. Before that happened, he needed to provide some proper rewards for his loyal companions.

As he pondered, Luo Wusheng suddenly paused, his gaze shifting to another direction.

There, a bewitching young woman with an enchanting smile approached gracefully. She placed a slightly larger wooden box beside the armrest of his rocking chair.

"Senior Brother, I've sorted out everything you need. It's all in this box," Bai Xiaoyao said softly, then glanced at Lu Yuliu with a slight tilt of her head. "Yuliu, you're up so early today~ Or could it be you didn't sleep well last night? If you're not used to—"

"I-I slept very well last night!"

The adorable girl quickly cut in, her response almost instinctive.

Bai Xiaoyao smiled faintly but didn't press further.

Watching the two stunning young women interact so early in the morning, Luo Wusheng stroked his chin.

His junior sister seemed just as usual... Though he couldn't help but notice how his gaze occasionally drifted downward when looking at her. Truly, she was the epitome of a captivating enchantress.

'Still, considering how she's standing next to Yuliu, I just realized she didn't ask me anything about recent events last night... Did she forget? Or did she already see through my preparations?'

No, she probably just didn't want to ask.

After all, this was his considerate junior sister, who always looked out for her senior brother.

Placing the larger wooden box into his storage pouch, Luo Wusheng stood up from the rocking chair.

"Thanks for your hard work, junior sister," he said, casually ruffling Bai Xiaoyao's hair.

The girl remained as docile as ever, allowing him to pat her head. Just then, Luo Wusheng noticed Lu Yuliu glancing at him.

Their eyes met briefly before she quickly looked away.

Following her line of sight, Luo Wusheng understood.

"Indeed, sitting on this chair and basking in the sunlight is very pleasant. You should give it a try—don't be shy," he said with a warm smile, adopting the tone of an elder.
