Chapter 53: Resolve Against the Giants

The 2-1 defeat to Notts County was still on everyone's mind. It had been Niels' first loss as Crawley's manager, and the players were clearly disappointed. Thiago's goal in the 60th minute had given them hope, but they couldn't find an equaliser.
The result dropped Crawley back to sixth in the league.
Now their attention had to turn to the FA Cup. Burnley were coming to Broadfield Stadium on February 20, and the players knew they would have to improve quickly.
Nate was still out with his knee injury, adding to the frustration around the team.
Sunday was a rest day, so Niels stayed at home and watched more footage of Burnley. He had a tactics board on the table with notes about their forwards and the runs they liked to make.
His phone buzzed.
It was a message from Elise.
"Tough loss, bro, but Burnley's yours. Cheer up!"
Niels smiled.
Later, his parents called him.
"You'll find a way, son," his dad said.
