Chapter 59: The Weight of Expectation

Crawley's 1–1 draw with Bournemouth gave them another important point. They remained fourth in League Two on 60 points, keeping their promotion hopes alive. The FA Cup quarter-final against West Ham was still coming up on March 29, but before that, Rochdale were next.

Monday's training session was mainly about recovery. The players were still feeling the effects of the Bournemouth game, so Niels kept things light.

Max worked through a few stretches before rolling his shoulders.

"Max-y, you shook their keeper!" Thiago joked.

Max smiled.

"Just doing my job, mate."

Luka looked sharp during the passing drills, finding his teammates with ease. He turned to Jamal after one good sequence.

"You were solid at Bournemouth, mate."

Jamal nodded.

"Thanks."

Nate was also back out on the pitch. His knee was taped, and he was still being careful, but he was moving better.

"Still standing, lad," he told Kieron with a smile.
