Chapter 1 - Death

"Hey Akir, wake up."

Mitsuye pulled the curtains while a groaning boy woke up from his bed.

"What time is it?"

" About Eight. Mum told me to wake you up."

Both of them were 17 years old. Akir was a orphan adopted by Mitsuye's uncle who died with his wife in an accident. Akir was then brought up by Yasuda, Mitsuye's father. Akir was adopted when he was 5 and brought up by Yasuda from when he was 9. He had been living with his Yasuda for about 8 years. Mitsuye's family treated him with care and always worried about him. Yasuda treated him just like his own son. Same was for his wife. She felt very happy after Yasuda decided to look after Akir.

He was 5'11 had black wavy hair, sand skin and was attractive meanwhile the girl was 5'7 also having black curvy hair, ivory skin and was pretty attractive. Yasuda was the CEO of a shipping company. After his brother's loss he decided to take up Akir as a way to bring peace to his brother's soul.

Three people sat down to have breakfast while one person rushed down the stairs.

It was Akir. Both the children went to the same school but Akir was one grade lower due to starting school late.

Mitsuye was well versed academically and played few sports while Akir was just average in both. He did not speak much and looked gloomy at school. He was lifeless as if he had no need to live. He was avoided by most kids.

He did not think much of Mitsuye. She also understood how lonely he felt and she tried her best to cheer him up always.

Things were different when Akir used to live with his foster parents. She had met him sometimes and he was different those times.

After finishing his breakfast Akir headed up to his room and sat down in a daze. He had no plans for Sunday.

"Akir could you go and get some ice cream."

"Sure."

He left to get ice cream.

While walking down the road in shorts and t-shirt he stumbled across a old man at the crosswalk. There was no one around them .He shrug it off.

Akir looked and saw that there were no vehicles on the road.He looked at the old man. The old man looked to be in his sixties and was speaking some gibberish.

Akir went past him but suddenly felt a strong grab on his shoulder.

"Wait up, young man. You seem to be in quite the hurry. Perhaps you could spare some time for this old man."

Akir looked around. Still the entire area at that time was empty no people, no vehicles, not even birds.

"What do you want?"

"I would be very grateful if you could keep this pendant with you."

The stone of the pendant was red and blue in colour. It did not look particularly fancy.

It was glowing slightly

"Why should I take it?"

"Now you wouldn't understand even if I told you, Akir."

"How do you know my name?"

"That is none of your concerns .Hurry up and take the pendant."

Many things were going through Akir's mind and he was desperately racking his brain for an answer.

'Who is he? Where is everyone?'

He reluctanly took the pendant .

Akir held the pendant in his hand and was falling on the road. He felt a sharp pain in his chest as if something had pierced through but when he looked at it, there was nothing.

He looked athe old man.

"W...hat have ..... you done?"

"I am just having my last wishes done.

I hope that you may live a glorious life.

Once when you reach the top you will understand it all. What you are and Why are you?"

The pain in his chest intensified and he was wirthing in agony on the ground. His eyes shut. Suddenly people had appeared as if out of thin air. Someone rushed to him. An ambulance was called and Akir was sent to the hospital. On the way he gradually felt his consciousness getting dimmer and dimmer. His body had become numb. He slowly closed his eyes. At the hospital the doctor declared that he had gone into a coma and was not sure about when he would wake up.
