Waking up all he sees around himself is emptiness. A void. He stares into oblivion. Then time passes and in the blink of an eye and he sees a small light, getting bigger and bigger until finally he hears- "It's a boy, Mr and Mr's Germanicus."
A pair of red eyes were staring at him full of tears of joy. The woman who held him had red hair. She was beautiful, fair skin and full of compassion looking at him intently.
"Uwahhhh.." The baby started crying uncontrollably as he was given in the hands of his father.
"Have you decided on a name yet?"
"Yes, Let's name him Aldrich, Aldrich Germanicus."
The young boy had no memories of his past life, all lost. He had forgotten who he was and thus he just like any human kid, full of curiosity and naive. In his previous life he never really understood the meaning of a parent. In the orphanage he was bullied and beaten everyday.
"The weak never survive, they are always trampled on. You should never forget your place." Words repeated to him everyday as he was beaten.
One day while he was being beaten he hit back. He was severely beaten and was almost half dead but after that he was never picked on again. He had learnt that the way to survive was dependent on how fast you could adapt.
It felt like his existence itself was like that of a curse. He had once found a cat at the orphanage and started to take care of it.
It was run over by atruck on the road.
The Germanicus Family lived in the human country. They lived in Greymounts border in a village called Abasha. Sebastian Germanicus was a sword instructor at the village school while Elly Germanicus ran the clinic of the village. Aldrich was growing up healthy. He was living his life to the fullest. One day while playing Aldrich cut his knee. There was blood gushing. Crying he went to his mother and showed her the cut.
"No need to cry, all is okay. I'll heal it.
She held up her hand and there was a green light emanting from her hand.
Then the green light fell upon the wound and the cut was gone. It was healed.
"What was that? It no longer pains."
There was curiosity in his voice and a gleam in his eyes for this was the first time he had witnessed magic.
"We call it magic."
"Then can I also learn magic."
"Of course you can."
"Teach me. How do I do it?"
"Not now, when you're older you will learn it at the the acdemy."
This was when the boy was 4 years old.
His impression of his dad was very high. He would watch his dad everyday, going to the woods and cut down trees with a single strike.
The boy did not speak much as he had never learned to socialize. He was mostly always alone.
A trait of his previous life. He had no memories of them but had retained some traits.
When he wasalone he would sometimes play with a wood as if it were a sword. After he had turned five he had a baby sister who was named Elena. Time passed.
She had gone completely after her mother- fair skin, red eyes, red hair.
Aldrich had red eyes but black hair and he also had fair skin. Slowly Aldrich had started to read and write. He was taught about the world.
The boy had learnt a lot about the world. Firstly the world was huge. There were many races- Humans primarily being one of them, Elves who remain secretively, Demons known for their brute strength, Dwarves known for their excellent craftsmanship, Beastmen known for their heightened senses and abilities. There were more races but were on the brink of extinction and not much was known about those races. The human continent was called Greymount. The Elves lived in a place called
Sliven. The Demons sharing a border with the humans live in the continent of Oros.
The Dwarves resides in the underground nation on the other side of the human continent named Uranot. Not much was known about the beastmen. They were said to live in the southern forest.
The relation between all the known races was neutral. About 500 years ago the entire world was in a war against one another. The war a major turning point in history. It led some races to go into hiding and some were rumored to have gone extinct. The races who became prominent after The war were the Humans,Demons and Elves. While most territories remain out in The open some were hidden. The Elves had a secret way of going in their homeland. Only individuals blessed by the world tree could enter the secret passage without any difficulty. Another way was to accompany a Elf.
Dwarves were not particularly fond of any races. They only favoured those who traded with them.
