I left Cedric's side to respond to Declan's call after a slight nod at his direction. Declan had an annoyed look about him, and gaze was still averted from me, even though I knew his anger was directed at me.
"Training is over, what are you still doing?" Declan asked in a tone caught up between polite and harsh even though the look on his face remained unchanged. He looked at me for a moment, and I could swear I saw his expression soften, but he looked away quickly as if looking at me was offensive to his senses. Maybe it was my dress, dirty and foul smelling as hell.
"Oh," I wasn't sure what to say now that my attention had been drawn to the dress I was wearing. Even though I wash it each night, I always wear it long before it completely dried up for fear of being walked into by one of the other girls, especially Nanisca or Declan. Also I had just noticed that the ground was almost empty now, with only a few warriors remaining, idling around.
