The news travelled fast but I was doubtful at first. Surely, Avira wasn't stupid enough to humiliate the one person who is most loyal to her by firing her in the manner she did.
But she had.
The girls were talking about it. Every gathering of two or more had Avira and Mira featuring in their discussion.
I was back in the kitchen, but not as the head servant. I was their Luna now, and I had come to address them as such.
"Where the hell is Joan?" I demanded with a high pitched voice. She wasn't stupid enough to think that I would let her slip pass.
A terrified figure made her way towards me, and stood with her head bowed when she got to me.
"On your knees," I screamed, and she flinched, and some of the others too.
"Your stupid tears were a confirmation that I tried to poison the then Luna. For that, you earned yourself a total of one hundred and six–" I stopped talking at the sound of loud sobbing, and instead turned towards the adjoining room where it sounded from.
